Dive Bomb Industries’ Dry Blind Bag

Estimated reading time: 7 minutes

The variety of ways to get your waterfowl shells and accessories into the field can be characterized in two ways: big and boxy.  Most bags are rectangular, some are like backpacks, and then Dive Bomb comes out with their water-tight, shoulder bag of a different sort.

After an all-day hard rain the Dive Bomb Dry-Bag kept my shells and items dry.  The bag comes in three colors and this color Field Tan was easy to conceal.  Additional colors include Covert Green and Otter Brown.

The possibilities for using this bag only grow with use.  I packed more and more into it and was never disappointed in the functionality.

I was excited to get my hands on one of these and it has quickly become my favorite method of transporting shells, calls, snacks, sunglasses, weed shears, batteries, remotes, face masks, and, well you get it.  The bag just seems to swell to my needs.  I have not hesitated to pack more and more into the Dry-Blind Bag including a waterproof jacket, extra layers, and extra gloves.  It is assuring that you have a dry place to store items like clothing maybe only necessary in the worst conditions, but nonetheless in your Dry-Blind Bag.

Designed with two water-resistant outer zippered pouches and two interior heavy-coated net pockets, plus a clear window pouch on the closure that intuitively is easy to see when open, but concealed and protected when the bag is closed.  Zippers have large pull tabs making them easy to grab.  The bag is built of robust 500D PVC Tarpaulin, Mil-Spec webbing, and quality Duraflex® hardware. All seams are RF-welded to provide a reliable, watertight seal, and stress points are bar-tacked for added strength and durability. This bag is built to last and guaranteed against defective materials and workmanship.  I used this bag in some tough conditions ranging from rain to sub-zero temperatures.   At 10 degrees I noticed the material only slightly stiffened, as one would expect with no change in functional use.

Even on a 10-degree morning, the bag strapped to the front of the four-wheeler and forged through the marsh, keeping things dry and safe.

The bottom of the bag is pleated to allow a couple boxes of shells or more along the bottom with any other items you need to have a great hunt.

I really liked the clear pouch as I could see quickly what I was looking for and made sure to place items here for a secondary dry location.  This clear pouch also functions as a map window or a great cell phone pouch.

A little instruction on rolling up the bag sides and securing them with clips.  This is similar to any dry bag and I found even one rollover helped keep things dry.

The closure when coupled with the rolled-over seal indeed gives you a solid watertight bag.  I liked the idea that I could open the closure and expose the interior after unrolling, and reach in to get what I needed.  Straps on the outside secure the closure and have ample length to let you really stuff the bag full.  On occasion, in nicer weather, I just use the straps to securely close the bag without rolling the bag sides to make it watertight.  The shoulder strap is great, but I also found the grab handle great for quick moves and hanging that bag.

How much you can roll the sides together depends on how much you stuff the bag.  I just pushed the contents down harder to get a full roll.

When fully secured you never know how this bag might save a life.  When securely rolled over and clipped it might become a floatable bag in an emergency.  Otherwise, when the bottom of your boat is covered in water the bag is right at home.

I hunted in a downpour early in the season with the bag and note that things do stay dry, but wet hands and gloves reaching in will compromise the dry factor.  I added a few sheets of paper towels in the bottom to absorb any water that I put into the bag.  Otherwise, contents only damped slightly by my use.  In hindsight and in future hunts, I placed things like shells and items I want to access often in the outer pouches keeping the bag contents drier.  Maybe one needs a slight learning curve on how to keep things dry when for the most part we accept wetness.  I am comfortable that you will quickly realize the value of a watertight bag.  The side interior pouches can hold things like gloves and facemasks, keeping them dry, outer water-resistant pouches can hold shells and things you might access over and over.

You get to the point where you depend on the items in the bag and all you can haul.  The shoulder strap is removable, but when you have several items to walk with, the shoulder strap is perfect.

I hunt walk-ins, layout boats, and blinds. This bag works in all conditions and fits in just about anywhere.
Dive Bomb Industries' Dry Blind Bag
Fitting into any environment the Dry-Blind Bag by Dive Bomb Industries is right at home over your shoulder, hanging in a tree, at the bottom of the boat, or in the blind.  What more could you ask for in a shell/utility bag?  It is dry, expandable, has multiple closures and pockets, is durable, and has a great price.

The Dive Bomb Industries Dry-Bling Bag is very well designed and constructed as a waterfowl dry bag.  It is functional in all types of waterfowl conditions.  Do not be deceived by the flat appearance, this bag will hold a ton of gear.

I duck hunted a dozen plus days with the Dive Bomb Dry-Blind Bag last season, it’s a great bag and main compartment is indeed waterproof, the outer compartments a little less so. I found it to be the perfect size and if not fully loaded with shells the dang thing will float. Get you sum, you won’t be disappointed.
