Details are still developing on this story, but early reports from local media say a Houston, TX, homeowner shot and killed one of two intruders on Saturday.

The two perps broke into the victim’s home and threatened the victim’s family around 12:15 a.m., according to HPD Commander Megan Howard.

During the confrontation, the homeowner obtained a handgun and shot one of the suspects multiple times.  First responders provided aid on the scene and took the suspect to a local hospital but the suspect later died as a result of the injuries sustained.

The second suspect fled on foot and is still on the loose.

“At this point, we’re not sure what the suspects were after exactly,” Howard told KTRK.

Howard added that an investigation is ongoing and the case will be referred to a grand jury.

Stay tuned for updates.  There may be a lot more to this story than what’s been initially reported.
