For anyone passionate about innovation in personal defense and modern security, HOP Munitions just dropped what could be a game-changer. Partnering with RoboRounds, they’re rolling out Electrically Disruptive Projectiles (EDPs) for 9mm, .45 ACP, and 12-gauge shotgun rounds.
If you’re tired of hearing about emerging threats like drones, autonomous robotics, or even exoskeleton tech without actionable solutions, this might be the most exciting news of the year. These aren’t just bullets; they’re a technological answer to modern warfare and security challenges.

What Are Electrically Disruptive Projectiles?
Think of EDPs as a fusion of science and self-defense. These rounds are designed to neutralize electrical and mechanical systems—the bread and butter of drones, robotics, and other high-tech threats. Here’s how they work:
- Each projectile carries 3-5 grams of a proprietary compound designed to disrupt cameras, LIDAR, and other critical components.
- The compounds—ranging from magnetic materials to whiskering agents—target vital systems, causing cumulative damage until the target is completely disabled.
- Forget EMPs. This is precision disruption at its finest, scalable for different levels of threat.
In short, EDPs are a precision-engineered countermeasure against tech that was once deemed to be untouchable.
Why EDPs? Because the Threat Is Real
Drones buzzing military bases, autonomous robots patrolling sensitive areas, and even exoskeletons aiding adversaries—this isn’t sci-fi; it’s today’s battlefield.

Just ask the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, which trained against drone swarms back in 2019. The stakes are higher than ever, and EDPs are stepping in where traditional tools fall short.
EDP Target Applications:
- Drones: Whether for surveillance or payload delivery, drones are no match for these rounds.
- Robotics: EDPs disrupt autonomous machines, rendering them inoperable.
- Exoskeletons: Advanced military or industrial systems? Consider them neutralized.
What Makes HOP Munitions EDPs Stand Out?
HOP Munitions has taken RoboRounds’ tech and infused it with their signature attention to detail and performance. Here’s a glimpse at what’s ready (and what’s coming):
- .45 ACP: Featuring a hollow-point design that holds up to 4 grams of compound, sealed with 3D-printed precision caps.
- 12-Gauge Slugs: Built for heavy-duty payloads, suited for high-tech, high-stakes applications.
- 9mm Rounds (Coming Soon): The development phase promises the same reliability you’ve come to expect from HOP Munitions.
This isn’t a pipe dream. The .45 ACP and 12-gauge options are already production-ready, with 9mm on the horizon.
Available to Everyone Who Values Freedom
Here’s the best part: EDP rounds won’t be limited to military and law enforcement. They’ll also be available to civilian markets.
Whether you’re protecting critical infrastructure, defending your privacy, or enhancing public safety, EDP rounds offer practical solutions for the modern age.
Where to See Them in Action
HOP Munitions is bringing the heat to this year’s SHOT Show (Booth 70209), where they’ll showcase these new rounds (We’ll definitely check ’em out while we’re there).
Stay Ahead with HOP Munitions
As the pro-2A community knows, innovation is key to staying prepared in an ever-evolving world. With Electrically Disruptive Projectiles, HOP Munitions is hoping to be at the forefront of ammunition technology.

What an absolutely pointless product. It sounds like these rounds are just intended to make a profit from fear mongering the uneducated people. It’s like painting your sledgehammer, and then selling it as an anti-drone safety hammer. What a joke.
Dumb idea
I applaud their timing for marketing these “Anti Drone” rounds.
PT Barnum was right……there’s a sucker born every minute.
Some tin hat idiot is going to try to shoot down what he/she perceives to be a drone in a crowded urban area and someone else will be injured or killed.
I call total BS. Each projectile carries 3-5 grams of a proprietary compound designed to disrupt cameras, LIDAR, and other critical components.
The compounds—ranging from magnetic materials to whiskering agents—target vital systems, causing cumulative damage until the target is completely disabled.
Forget EMPs. This is precision disruption at its finest, scalable for different levels of threat.
In short, EDPs are a precision-engineered countermeasure against tech that was once deemed to be untouchable. This has to be targeted towards the folks stocking up in their dooms day bunkers.
Better keep in mind that unless we were at war with drones… Shooting one down is a federal criminal offense since drones, even down to the smallest ones are controlled and protected by the FAA. It’s illegal to shoot in to the air, even more to shoot a drone. These will surely be useful for m&p, but only a problem for civi’s wanting to stop a nuisance.
The problem is that you still have to shoot them at the drones, and this will likely be illegal almost everywhere
