Harris on Confiscation: ‘That’s not what we’re talking about’

in 2nd Amendment – R2KBA, Current Events, This Week

Vice President Kamala Harris, in a Wednesday interview on CBS This Morning, was very clear about one thing in the aftermath of the mass killings in Boulder, Colorado, and, Atlanta, Georgia:

No one is coming for your guns.

“Reject the false choice and stop pushing it, for sure.  Stop pushing the false choice that this means everyone’s trying to come after your guns.  That is not what we’re talking about,” she said with respect to the current push on Capitol Hill for tougher gun control that includes Feinstein’s Assault Weapons Ban of 2021

Not coming for our guns.  Really?  That’s great news.

Except for one thing, earlier in the interview she totally contradicted that statement, suggesting that the Biden administration — which has openly supported banning many commonly owned firearms and accessories — firmly believes law-abiding citizens do not have a constitutional right to possess modern sporting rifles.

“There’s no reason why we have assault weapons on the streets of a civil society.  They are weapons of war,” she explained. “They are designed to kill a lot of people quickly.”

So, which is it?  Do Biden and Harris support confiscation or don’t they?

The White House’s official position on confiscation, according to Fox News, is that the president supports giving current gun owners a choice: either participate in a voluntary “buyback” program or register your firearms as Title II weapons under the National Firearms Act.

So, one either turns over his or her firearms to the Fed or registers them with the ATF at a cost of $200 per gun.  Failure to comply makes one subject to a felony that carries with it a prison sentence of up to 10 years behind bars and a fine not to exceed $250,000.

While that’s the official position of this administration, we know that Harris has been on record saying she supports “mandatory buybacks.”

And, in the past, Biden vowed to make former presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke his gun czar. O’Rourke made waves on the campaign trail in 2019 when he said, “Hell yes, we are going to take your AR-15, AK-47.”

“Americans who own AR-15s and AK-47s will have to sell their assault weapons,” he added.

At the time, O’Rourke’s gun-grabbing agenda was embraced by current White House press secretary Jen Psaki.

O’Rourke has not yet been tapped by Biden to lead the charge on this issue.

But make no mistake about it, though the White House has stopped short of calling for full-on confiscation, this does not in any way diminish its hostility toward one’s right to keep and bear arms.

She is nothing more than an actress, spreading fear in the name of their agenda. Anybody with half a brain can figure out it’s not a lack of laws and it’s not the guns that are the problem!

  • Lew April 16, 2021, 8:53 am

She could lead by example and have her security detail disarmed! They don’t need high capacity firearms! What a joke, I guess I am headed out to buy a few more of these death machine high capacity magazines today. No one sells firearms like politician’s!

  • JORY HUMPHREYS April 1, 2021, 6:26 am

It’s amazing that she is just like every other political hack. She never once addresses the questions asked with any answers. She rants on Cruz but doesn’t deny that what he said is factually correct. No, instead she goes the emotional route and pointing fingers for something that she can’t back up with facts or evidence. She is a mirror of Saki and keeps circling her narrative around and around talking about the victims with big elaborate descriptions of sadness and never seems to actually say anything of substance. If this is what we’re getting after Joe…..we’re f*cked!

  • Ralph March 30, 2021, 11:34 am

One very interesting bit of history. Most people teach (I don’t think anyone does this any longer) that the Revolutionary War was started by taxation without representation – WRONG – The shot heard around the world happen WHEN THE RED COATS CAME TO TAKE OUR GUNS!!

What’s the saying, those who don’y know history are doomed to repeat it!!!!!

  • interventor March 30, 2021, 12:13 am

No one needs a homely woman with a bad red hair dye job. But, there you are, Jen.

  • Norm Fishler March 29, 2021, 6:53 pm

It may not be what she’s talking about (right now) but it’s certainly on the agenda.

  • bruce March 29, 2021, 1:35 pm

Geeze–what a bunch of unpleasant people to have on your email list!

  • Jim March 29, 2021, 1:25 pm

DJ is exactly correct! THIS IS THE REASON FOR THE 2nd AMENDMENT! We cannot allow our Government to take away our firearms as that would leave us defenseless. Communists and Socialist and others have ALWAYS removed firearms from the Citizens before taking completely over and making this a controlled dictatorship!

  • Jim March 29, 2021, 1:21 pm

Confiscation is EXACTLY what they are talking about! They ARE NOT military assault weapons. Any Military that has ONLY semi-automatic guns would quickly be defeated and slaughtered in any war! To be a effective military these weapons MUST have the option of being fully automatic when needed. Harris is talking about increasing background checks? All of those involved in shootings would have easily passed the background check! Again taking an banning these semi-automatic firearms and taking them away from good citizens IS CONFISCATION! They want to take my firearms that I already have collected as Historical firearms!

  • Robert Fenske March 29, 2021, 10:37 am

What Sexual Harris meant? I think we know.

  • PeterC March 29, 2021, 10:12 am

The solution is simple. We trade in all of our “assault rifles” for “patrol rifles” like our law enforcement personnel carry. If this is too cumbersome, perhaps we can have a designated priest sprinkle holy water on the offending weapon and proclaim it a patrol rifle.

  • D.J. March 29, 2021, 9:29 am

How many times have we heard this before ?

How many times have the communists lied throughout history ?

She / they , are yet lying again . How many times are we to believe the
bilge that spews from their vulgar mouths ?

I don’t …… and I am hopeful that you , dear reader , do not as well !

    • Munnster March 29, 2021, 1:26 pm

Bingo. These communists want to transform the US into a CCP type country. But, in order to be able to do it easier, they have to divide and disarm us. They want us to fight each other, instead of the true criminals in government and the media.

“They are designed to kill a lot of people quickly.” You might have cause to remember that, bigger nitch.

“The Second Amendment is not about shooting ducks; it’s about shooting tyrants.”

  • D4w1 March 29, 2021, 6:49 am

Would anyone trust a professional whore. Who opened her legs with Wille Brown, a married man to obtain her political goals. A person who polled with less than 1% among her other democrat candidates and dropped out of the presidential race
early because she had no chance of winning. Now a possiblity to become the President of the United States through brain dead Joe Biden V. P. choice. The Democrats goal is the total Destruction of America into socialist communist nation.

  • Leigh March 29, 2021, 5:51 am

Yes…that is EXACTLY what they are talking about…
when people have no real choice it is de facto confiscation…
sort of like saying there is no racism against whites…because they use an “enhanced” definition
If it looks like a duck…walks like a duck…and quacks like a duck?

  • Jack March 28, 2021, 11:43 am

For all of the people killed with rifles last year, which was a grand total of 351, I believe, the demunists could more than make up for that by deporting the illegal aliens, as they killed over 2,000 American citizens, and the government is doing nothing to take them off the streets. In fact, the demunists are importing more of them so that they can kill more American citizens, whether by accident or intentional.

  • George March 27, 2021, 8:22 am

All of the colonies except Pennsylvania, the one colony in which religious pacifists blocked the creation of a militia, enrolled local citizens, white men between the ages of 16-60 in state-regulated militias. The colonies and then the newly independent states kept track of these privately owned weapons required for militia service. The founding fathers had a gun registry back in 1789. So this would be in line with the thinking of the founding fathers when they wrote the 2nd Amendment.

    • Kane March 27, 2021, 12:41 pm

Are you talking about mandatory registration or a muster list of men and arms that could be called on in a time of war?

What sort of descriptions of the arms was taken in 1789?

How were these “privately owned weapons” tracked in 1789 and at other periods such as 1812?

      What is you source?

Do you take Harris at her word despite what Biden and Beto said?

      • Kane March 29, 2021, 9:29 am

” The founding fathers had a gun registry back in 1789.”

Oh darn, no response. I really want to hear some details. Are you a “1619” Bogart? How about giving a definition of the “founding fathers”? What documentation still exists of this “gun registry”?

    • Paul Bradford Casterlin March 29, 2021, 7:41 am

      Bullshit…list your citations.

    • zulu8 March 29, 2021, 9:44 am

      Stop being so naive…
It’s just the first step in confiscation
Geez, when will people wake up..,
I just pray Texans and Texas have the guts to say “NO DAMN I WAY”

  • clodfobble March 26, 2021, 3:19 pm

  • Mark March 26, 2021, 2:40 pm

    Hey Kamala HBL don’t matter.

  • Dale Kehrer March 26, 2021, 12:49 pm

Of course they support full bans and confiscation. When they say they don’t, that means they do. Complete liars. Just like the election when they said Biden won, there was no voter fraud, and the Dominion machines couldn’t be tampered with. We care about lives, sure, they only care about lives if those lives are slaves to support their lavish lifestyles, and slaves don’t own guns.

  • MICHAEL KEIM March 26, 2021, 12:27 pm

She forgot to add the word YET.

  • Bubbinator March 26, 2021, 12:24 pm

We need criminal penalties for bureaucrats failing to due their jobs! There are multiple instances where mass shooters would have been denied access to weapons if they had been entered into the NICS system as required but we’re not. This included the incompetent FBI, who it is now known that in at least 3 major cases they had prior hard intelligence and simply ignored it or failed to act. Enforce all the other knee jerk laws on the books and there will be no need for more ignored laws.

  • Vietnam Veteran March 26, 2021, 11:11 am

I only hope that this legislation do background checks ONLY. People whose past shows criminal backgrounds, etc,
previous psychological and mental records that show they have or can harm others, or themselves, is my only hope. But banning any weapon, no.

  • Dexter Winslett March 26, 2021, 10:15 am

Democrats are Satan. This is what happens when fools vote democrat.

  • Andrew Ling March 26, 2021, 7:09 am

No words can describe my pain for the many who have died in the hands of these insane and terroristic criminals. We have failed to stop them from buying weapons and ammo. We must work to stop this repetition.
What are our politicians doing to implement safety stops? Is NICS useless?

    • Frank March 29, 2021, 5:00 am

In a word… YES!! It’s useless as a detriment to crime as are most regulatory schemes. This may come as a newsflash, but CRIMINALS DO NOT ABIDE BY THE LAW. We used to call them “outlaws” which defined them rather succinctly. Now however, in our “kinder, gentler, social-justice”, BS system of doing things, the teeth has been taken out of law enforcement. Instead of punishing the hell out of those who commit violence, our communist oppressors continue to stamp out Liberty for peaceful citizens. Whether it’s the “opioid crisis”, “gun violence” (never saw a “violent” gun), or any other criminal/civil regulatory statute, the law-abiding MAJORITY is penalized for the actions of the outlaw MINORITY.

  • Andrew Ling March 26, 2021, 7:00 am

Mr. Biden is lacking common sense, period. Go after the failed ability to stop mentally compromised, terrorists, criminals, and despots so that they are forbidden from buying weapons and ammo. Make the grocery stores safer by requiring them to allow open/concealed carry or provide armed security for the patrons and employees. Criminals and sickos will not obey laws. They never have. Police are only good if they can be there when needed. AR15s, AK47s, or any other guns do not discharge by themselves. Let’s talk about how to stop unlawful gun ownership and purchases.

  • Andrew Moore March 26, 2021, 6:43 am

    FJB!!! FKH!!!!!

  • J Franks March 26, 2021, 6:08 am

The second civil war is coming and it’s going to be nasty. I know many soldiers and law enforcement officers from a variety of agencies and they universally state they will not follow orders to confiscate firearms nor will they aid in suppressing resistance.

Obviously this is anecdotal but it wouldn’t surprise me if it was true for most, if not all, of the military and law enforcement in this country. Either way the time for passive, peaceful responses to this sort of treason is over.

    • Blasted Cap March 26, 2021, 7:57 am

I’ve got the answer of “if that’s what I’m told to do” from 1 of our 2 local officers and several of our County Deputies.
      Agreed it will be ugly.

    • Robert Messmer March 27, 2021, 9:39 pm

You have obviously forgotten Katrina? Guns were confiscated at the time. Have you not watched the news and seen police arresting and in at least one case using a tazer on an unmasked citizen OUTSIDE and socially distanced from others? The cops will do as ordered. We have seen that time and time again. When ordered to stand down and allow BLM/Antifa rioters to vandalize, loot, commit arson and murder – what did the police do. They followed orders. The exact same defense the United States disallowed at the Nuremberg trials.

  • Michael Niese March 26, 2021, 5:37 am

One question they never seem to answer is.

How do you “Buy Back” what was never yours in the first place?

  • StLPro2A March 25, 2021, 4:34 pm

A politician with a law never stops a bad guy with a gun.
He only controls the good guys….which is his true agenda.

Guns in the hands of citizens is a dangerous proposition. Guns ONLY in the hands of governments is an infinitely more dangerous proposition. History tells the story. Learn from it, re-live it….or die by it.

For once I agree with Bill O’Reilly. Bad guys shooting people is the price of freedom. Liberty is risky business. That’s why our Founding Fathers recognized our God-given right to shoot back.

One must stop farming out one’s personal safety to others whom SCOTUS has, at least three times, told us they have no duty to protect us. That’s the Second Amendment’s “citizens right to keep and bear arms” in a nut shell.

“A system of licensing and registration is the perfect device to deny gun ownership to the bourgeoisie.” – Vladimir Ilyich Lenin

“Ordinary citizens don’t need guns, as their having guns doesn’t serve the State.” ~ Heinrich Himmler.

How ironic that those who are calling for gun control are those who want the guns, so they can have the control. Gun control is effective….as endorsed by Hitler, Lenin, Mao, Pol Pot. Idi Amin, Castro, Obama, Polosi, Feinstein, Biden,….

The new agenda for humanity requires that no one will have the capacity to fight back. It has been said: “Our Task of creating a Socialist America can only succeed when those who would resist us have been totally disarmed.” No other explanation is possible. Welcome to “common sense” gun control.

History has repeatedly demonstrated that disarming good people in the name of making bad people harmless only eventually facilitates politicians shooting their own countrymen. History…learn from it or be doomed to relive it….or die by it.

  • StLPro2A March 25, 2021, 4:08 pm

Please, oh, please, Ms Cirecleback…… send Butto O’Dork to be the first one through the gun confiscation door. Let him report back what a real “situation” is like.

  • Sam Hancock March 25, 2021, 8:31 am

The current presidential administration’s ability to identify a crisis is somewhat questionable. The southern border being completely over run is a “situation”. But stealing legally owned property of constitutionally protected gun owners is a crisis. WOW.
