Gunwerks Launches New Stocks: Upgrade Your Long-Range Rifle — SHOT Show 2018

One company that I have a lot of respect for is Gunwerks. Every year at SHOT Show I swing by their booth to check out their latest products and chat with their staff. The Gunwerks staff are enthusiastic, friendly, professional and above else, skilled long-range shooters.

This year at SHOT Show, Gunwerks introduced three new carbon fiber stocks; the CLYMR, MAGNUS, and VERDICT.Gunwerks Launches New Stocks: Upgrade Your Long-Range Rifle — SHOT Show 2018

The CLYMR is a lightweight fiberglass rifle stock that is designed for backcountry hunting. Length-of-pull can be adjusted, and the stock features Gunwerks flush mount bipod system. The CLYMR also has a “negative” comb, a design that gently plunges towards the receiver. Gunwerks claims that this design reduces muzzle rise and reduces felt recoil. Shouldering the CLYMR, I could see how recoil would not push my face up, which would mitigate the loss of sight picture.

The MAGNUS, like the CLYMR, is composed of fiberglass, has a negative comb and the flush mount bipod system. Unlike the CLYMR, the MAGNUS has an adjustable butt pad that can be raised, lowered and or canted to accommodate a shooters morphology. The MAGNUS would shine for ELR shooting or general hunting.

The VERDICT is the creme de la creme of Gunwerks rifle stocks. Lightweight carbon fiber composition, adjustable negative comb, adjustable butt pad, M-LOK side rails at the 3, 6 and 9 o’clock positions make this a fantastic option for long range shooting, hunting, and PRS style competition. The VERDICT equipped rifle on display at SHOT had a full swiss ARCA rail attached at the 6 o’clock position. Swiss ARCA rails are becoming very popular as an interface for bipods, tripods and barrier accessories.
