Overview
GEMTECH has been an industry leader in suppressors for decades, always leading from the front with innovative designs. This year at SHOT Show we got our greedy little paws on two new offerings, and these are both going to be winners.
LUNAR 45
First up is the LUNAR 45, a super light .45 ACP can made of military grade aluminum and titanium. This suppressor is modular, allowing you to adjust the length to the amount of noise reduction you need.
From GEMTECH’s own website,“We have created the lightest and quietest modular 45 caliber suppressor available that is able to be completely taken apart and cleaned.”
Taking this thing apart for cleaning is a snap, and I love the new tools included in case you forget to clean it. Often. Not that I have ever done that. Professionals always follow recommended cleaning schedules. And never ever get a can so stuck together that they have to warm it up on the BBQ grill to get it apart.
INTEGRA
Next up is the INTEGRA, a fully integrally suppressed AR-15 upper receiver. This is a 16.1-inch upper, so it is only one tax stamp (And hopefully soon zero tax stamps).
There is some amazing technology in this one as well, including a built-in bore evacuator. The designer was actually a tank driver in a former life, and his solution here was brilliant. The bore evacuator pushes the gasses trapped in the suppressor out the muzzle, not back down the barrel into your face.
Not only does this system run cleaner for your bolt, it is a lot more fun to shoot. Available in 5.56 or 300 AAC.
Price and Availability
GEMTECH has hit it out of the park this year. Look for full reviews on both of these models in the near future.
Price on the LUNAR-45 is $799. INTEGRA is $1,999.
