First Look: SIG Sauer P365 Fuse

Introducing the SIG Sauer P365 Fuse, the latest addition to the P365 lineup, offering full-size performance in a compact design.

Design and Features:

  • Barrel and Slide: The Fuse features a 4.3-inch carbon steel barrel with a DLC coating and a stainless steel slide. The slide has aggressive front and rear serrations and a lightning cut at the front to reduce weight and improve handling.
  • Magazine: Comes with a 17-round flush-fit magazine and two 21-round extended magazines, offering substantial capacity in a compact form factor.
  • Sights and Optics: The pistol is equipped with a steel fiber optic front sight and an optics-ready slide cut for an RMSc footprint, allowing co-witnessing without removing the rear sight.
  • Grip and Trigger: The grip is laser-textured and comes with interchangeable backstraps (small, medium, large) for a customized fit. The flat-faced trigger is nickel-boron coated, providing a smooth pull and positive reset.

Performance: In initial testing, the P365 Fuse demonstrated impressive performance. Its longer slide and sight radius contribute to improved accuracy and handling, making it a versatile choice for both concealed carry and home defense. The longer slide makes the gun feel smoother and less snappy when shooting it. The first shots out of the box showed tight groupings at 10 yards, indicating strong potential for precision. Watch for a multiple ammo accuracy test using our Ransom Rest.

I had zero malfunctions with the SIG P365 Fuse. I didn’t clean it, lubricate it, or do any sort of break in.

Comparison with Glock Models:

  • P365 Fuse vs. Glock 19: The P365 Fuse is narrower at 1.1 inches wide and offers a higher capacity with its 17-round flush-fit magazine compared to the Glock 19’s 15-round magazine. It also boasts a longer barrel and sight radius, enhancing accuracy and velocity while maintaining a more compact overall length. The slimmer profile makes it more comfortable for concealed carry.
  • P365 Fuse vs. Glock 17: The P365 Fuse matches the Glock 17 in magazine capacity (17 rounds flush-fit) but is more compact in every way, making it easier to conceal. The Fuse’s modular design and customizable grip further enhance its adaptability for various users. Its compact size with full-size capacity offers a compelling alternative to larger pistols.

Additional Features and Accessories:

  • The P365 Fuse includes a full 1913 Picatinny rail for mounting accessories like lights and lasers. It pairs well with Sig’s new Foxtrot 2R light, a compact, rechargeable 700-lumen light that attaches easily to the rail.
  • The trigger is nickel-boron coated for smooth operation, and the grip frame is compatible with various aftermarket accessories, enhancing its versatility.
  • The P365 Fuse also features a modular chassis, allowing for customization with different grip frames, barrels, and slides, similar to other models in the P365 lineup. This modularity adds to the gun’s versatility, enabling users to tailor it to their specific needs.

Conclusion: With an MSRP of $699.99, the P365 Fuse combines high capacity, advanced features, and compact dimensions, challenging the dominance of established models like the Glock 19 and Glock 17. Its versatility makes it suitable for a range of applications, from everyday carry to home defense.

Final Thoughts: The P365 Fuse is poised to be a strong contender in the compact pistol market, offering impressive capacity and performance in a sleek, customizable package. Whether you’re looking for a reliable carry gun or a versatile home defense option, the P365 Fuse delivers. Keep an eye out for this model to experience its full potential.

I’d get one if it was a 40.

The FUSE vs Glock 19 size, weight and capacity comparisons, when actually crunching the numbers, seem insignificant. What is significant is this: A quick search on Guns.com website shows a FUSE listed at $712.99 while they have a Glock 19 Gen 3 at $484.99. If you feel the need to hang a light and electronic sight on your concealed carry gun, then the FUSE may be the gun for you. Otherwise, not so much.

How is this a “compact” pistol, it has a slightly longer barrel than my full size M&P and the capacity of a full size duty pistol? I can’t find dimensions but judging by the photos it looks pretty big. Hopefully it’ll be on Handgun Hero soon so we can compare its dimensions.
