After spending a year in jail for several counts of child rape, former “Sons of Guns” star Will Hayden will be losing his “dream team” of lawyers for a public defender.

State District Judge Mike Erwin took Hayden’s three private lawyers off the case Thursday after the trio decided “continued representation was unsupportable.” In their place, the judge appointed Susan Hebert from the East Baton Rouge Parish Public Defender’s Office.

“I’m releasing the dream team,” said Erwin, garnering chuckles from many of the lawyers in the courtroom.

Hayden’s former lawyers Frank Holthaus, Steven Moore, and Franz Borghardt said things just “didn’t pan out,” but the departure appears to be amiable and both parties even shook hands. Holthaus added “there’s a great deal of evidence in this case… on both sides.”

The Red Jacket Firearms founder was indicted December 2014 on three counts of rape involving two females and faces a life sentence.

Four women accused Hayden of sexual misconduct, including a 12-year-old and his daughter, who confessed on the Dr. Phil show that he sexually abused her when she was 12-years-old.

Since I just came across this, I see that it may be too late to respond but I will if it helps anybody. I was molested by my father from 6-13, when he was arrested. He made it clear that if I told he would kill the family and he would go to prison. He would take me for rides or get me alone. Always a threat, always a bribe. He locked me in a cellar once and told me “this is how it will be and no one will ever find you”. He was an abusive man toward my brother and mother, but never me in public. I never told. I pretended to like him and if he wanted a hug, I would do it. I watched him for any cue. I stayed away as much as I could. But, I pretended he was ok, and sometimes he was nice to everyone and I hoped he would stop. I slept with knives and razor blades under my pillow. To this day, I am 67, I sleep with the light on and a loaded gun beside me. Finally, one night when he and I were home alone, he came in to my room, said he was going to kill me and then my mom when she got home from work. I broke away from him, escaped to a neighbor, and he was arrested. I was13.
After that, every night, although I never saw him again, I had nightmares he was trying to get me.
He killed himself when I was 17, and lived in foster care. The nightmares stopped.
Just because you don’t see signs or hear from the victim, it does not mean she is lying. She kept the secret for as long as she could. She tried to make her life normal by repressing the memories and hoping some day it would stop.
Unless it has happened to you, you have no idea what a victim goes through.

Just amazes me hoe Steph was so sweet to Will on the show. I don’t know what the truth is in this and no one here does either just sayin’ that just how could you act so sweet to some one who raped you? I would think you would want to rip their face off of their head with both hands and feet. Could fame and money possibly make you forget that you were raped?
I had to sit on a jury once where two girls accused their stepfather of accosting them while the mother was supposedly in the next room of the house. Deal was they were going to get a check from Social Services. Were they possibly influenced by the check because I personally thought their story was bogus. Night of the trial 10 other jurors thought that way also, after overnight recess those same 10 changed their minds and all I could do was try to keep the guy from getting the max sentence. I still wonder if he was sold out for a check. I wonder the same about Will.

As a former active duty Marine myself I think that miserable POS best not display the Corps’ honorable flag again. He is a damn disgrace to the fine men and women who wear or have worn the uniform.

    Semper Fi.

I remember this article when it first appeared on Guns America. So many got upset and tried to defend him because of his stature and blamed the jealous ex wife ! Never judge untill full fact and evidence has been presented.
    You trolls where wrong.

You are judging without having the facts just like the accusation you make of others when the story broke. Truth is he’s innocent until proven guilty. Having said that, rape and child rape are disgusting. If he did what he’s accused of I hope he burns in hell for eternity.

Earn an honest living and be happy and successful at it. I bet all of these foul mouthed idiots sent out resume’s to all the reality shows when their network turned Muslim and tanked. Who were they calling son’s of bitches anyway? Sounds like a war on mothers to me. Good riddance to bad rubbish…….

Words cannot convey how sad this situation is. I pray that justice will prevail and that those effected will find peace and recovery. Not much more can or needs to be said.
