A former Marine serving in the USMC is being credited with stopping an armed robber in Yuma, Arizona this week. Surveillance footage from the gas station convenience store captured the incident that took place around 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
The attempted armed robbery happened at a Yuma Chevron station on October 20, 2021. Three suspects entered the station early in the morning, one of them armed with a handgun, only to be quickly confronted by the fast-acting Marine.
As the armed would-be robber pointed his gun at the cashier, the Marine disarmed the main suspect and held him down until police arrived to put the perp in custody. Unfortunately, the other two suspects were able to flee the scene after watching their gunman get taken down.

The detained suspect is a juvenile and has been booked into the Yuma County Juvenile Justice Center for one count of armed robbery and one count of aggravated assault. No one is reporting any injuries resulting from the crimes.
When deputies asked the intervening customer how he was able to handle the situation and take control, he simply said “The Marine Corps taught me not to [mess] around.”
The case is open and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office with anonymous tips.

Would have been better if they could have cut the camera so the Marine could have pistol whipped him, or worse. We all know with our current system of justice the, the perp was out the next day. Fortunately, it wasn’t in CA or NY where the Marine would have charges filed against him, and the robber would have received an apology, and most likely the Marine would have to issie a public apology and pay restitution.
Thankfully no one was hurt? Actually, it’s too bad all the robbers weren’t hurt. I’m not speaking about killing them, just taking them to the woodshed.

Unfortunately with our revolving-door justice system we have in this country this young POS will probably never see a day in prison, and he knows that. So he’ll have a record, if he doesn’t already. It’s really a shame the marine didn’t shove that gun up his arse and pull the trigger and take him out of the gene pool. Seems these young thugs have to kill someone before the criminal justice system takes them off the streets for even a brief period of time.

No such thing as a former Marine. Same goes for ex-Marine. There are active duty Marines, Reserve Marines, Retired Marines and for the rest of us, Veteran Marines. Most of us get Honorable discharges, some get other types. Only one Marine lost his title that I’m aware of, the guy who killed President Kennedy.
All that being said, the Marine that was videotaped kicking some POS’s ass was a sight for sore eyes! Oohrah!!!
This robber should have kept 6 feet distant between himself and other patrons. He was wearing his mask, that’s good, but he got to close to that Marine and his backside got whooped. It is good nobody got hurt too badly and I hope the young man finds true penitence in the penitentiary.
