What are you getting your dad for Father’s Day? Guns are a great gift! Obviously!
But if you’re looking for something at a lower price point here are some various items that caught my eye.
NOTE: I’m not endorsing these products as I haven’t tested them in person; videos were added for context. This is just an article to generate some gift ideas. Like you, I don’t really know what I’m getting dad this year.

The FAB Defense “Gotcha Hat.”
I saw it online for around $46. E-Bay has it listed as cheap as $39.95.
What is it? It’s a less-lethal polymer self-defense implement that fits under the brim of a nondescript baseball cap, replete with a velcro patch (for customization).
The hat itself is available in four colors: black, coyote tan, dark earth (brown) and OD green.

Survivor Outdoor Fixed Blade Knife with Fire Starter

I’m not a huge fan of cheap knives. I’m a firm believer that you get what you pay for, specifically when it comes to blades.
But there are certain value buys that are hard to pass up. The Survivor Outdoor Fixed Blade Knife with Fire Starter was is of those purchases that definitely fall into that category.
Even if it turns out to be a piece of junk an investment of a what amounts to a subway sandwich isn’t going to break the bank. Plus it’s not for you anyhow, it’s for dad. Chances are he’ll like it as he isn’t a blade snob.

Keysmart – Minimalist Key Organizer
This is pretty cool. Basically, instead of your dad walking around like a janitor with a carbuncle of keys in his pocket, you can get him the Keysmart so that he can fashion his various lock openers into a Swiss-Army-type configuration.
It fits up to ten keys and promises “no bulk and not one jingle or jangle.” It appears it’s also made in America, Chi-Town specifically, and from “aircraft aluminum and stainless steel hardware, hand sanded and hard coated.”

E.H. Taylor Jr. Small Batch Bourbon
If you can’t find a bottle of E.H. Taylor, Buffalo Trace’s “Eagle Rare” is quality whiskey as well. (Buffalo Trace)
Upon moving to Kentucky in February of this year, I was immediately bit by the bourbon bug. I had always liked it, but I never really knew its potential — mainly because I had always imbibed it with some sugary mixer like coke. I had also never really tasted fine bourbon. Now I have.
Okay, I know I said at the beginning that I haven’t tried these products so I can’t endorse them but here’s an exception, I have had E.H. Taylor Jr. Small Batch bourbon and it is good. Really good!
If dad likes whiskey or a nice manhappy from time to time, see if you can pick up a bottle of E.H. Taylor. At around $40, it’s a great Father’s Day gift.
Tasting notes from Buffalo Trace Distillery:
Tastes of caramel corn sweetness, mingled with butterscotch and licorice. The aftertaste is a soft mouth-feel that turns into subtle spices of pepper and tobacco.

A day at the range can be tough on the hands. A solid pair of gloves can go a long way to mitigate cuts, abrasions and other painful injuries to the hands.
