In Hammond, LA, a homeowner shot 23-year-old Samael Raynaldo Maldonado-Lael during a home invasion.
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office reported Maldonado-Lael allegedly broke into a mobile home at La Casa Mobile Home Park. The incident occurred on Old Baton Rouge Highway on August 9, 2023.
Chief Jimmy Travis stated that after entering through a window, Maldonado-Lael attacked a guest. He then threatened to kill the guest and her family. In the ensuing altercation, the homeowner shot Maldonado-Lael in the leg.
Bizarrely, Maldonado-Lael stripped and fled the scene. He then broke a nearby vehicle’s window and hid inside. Deputies soon arrived, forcibly removing him from the vehicle.

Following the incident, Maldonado-Lael received treatment at a local hospital. His injuries included a gunshot wound and cuts from the broken glass.
Authorities later charged Maldonado-Lael at the Tangipahoa Parish Jail with home invasion, second-degree battery, vehicle burglary, and resisting arrest.
Maldonado-Lael confessed to using illegal drugs before the invasion. Thankfully, neither the homeowner nor guests needed urgent medical care and declined medical assistance.
The Sheriff’s Office reminds us that “All persons accused of a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty.”

Fortunately, this city, Hammond, LA, has a Republican mayor. So maybe this butthole is still in lockup. In my city, he would be glorified and released within a day. He’d have an attorney to sue the homeowner and city for retributions!
