A New Hampshire man with ties to Everytown for Gun Safety was arrested earlier this month.

Robert Blaisdell, 44, a powerbroker in the lobbying arena, is being charged with false imprisonment, simple assault and criminal mischief, the Union Leader reports.

Details on the May 2 domestic incident are sparse, leaving some to speculate whether the media is purposely avoiding the story because of Blaisdell’s clout or famous last name or work with Bloomberg’s gun-control organization.

He is the managing partner of “Demers, Blaisdell & Prasol Inc. and grandson of legendary state Sen. Clesson “Junie” Blaisdell, a former state senator from Keene who served 15 terms,” according to the Union Leader.

Blaisdell’s firm represents the Everytown for Gun Safety Fund along with NH Troopers Association, NH Police Association, NH Court Reporters Association, and businesses like Walmart, Eversource, Tufts Health Freedom Plan, Bank of America, FedEx, NH Wine and Spirits Brokers Assoc., among others.

The Concord Patch tells the story of police arriving at the scene after a domestic disturbance:

When they arrived and after conducting an investigation, police charged Blaisdell with three counts. They allege that he “knowingly” confined a family member “so as to substantially interfere with their ability to physically movement by holding the laundry room door closed over a period of several minutes” when the person tried to leave the room. Blaisdell is also accused of stepping on the person’s hand during the disturbance. Court documents also allege that he grabbed the victim’s cellphone and “using his hands in a twisting motion thus cracking the screen and rendering the phone useless, causing damages in excess of $100.”

An attorney for the defendant claims that he is innocent.

“Mr. Blaisdell is innocent of the criminal charges,” his attorney, Richard Guerriero, told the Union Leader.

“Our hope is that the case can be resolved with a minimum of trauma and difficulty for the entire family,” he added.

GunsAmerica reached out to the Manchester Police Department to obtain a copy of the police report.  We’ll update the story when more information becomes available.   Blaisdell is due back in court on July 1.

Jake. Keep in mind that PIG stand for Professionally Instructed Gunmen. Thanks for the training Uncle Sam Most of us – 99% do our job and uphold the constitution and state laws. Gonna say his wife called 911 and made the accusations and then the laws says we have to arrest him. So lay off the Blue Pig thing. And just to be more correct I’m a HOG= Hunter Of Gunmen not a pig

    I\’m specifically addressing Jerk\’s, I mean Jake\’s disrespectful commentary – apparently \”REPLY\” and \”LINK\” didn\’t.

  • Willie-O June 1, 2019, 5:30 am

Completely disrespectful BULLSHIT commentary on law-enforcement. Like most, the trash-talking stops as soon as you need them however. I\’m not aware of an incident in which someone got shot repeatedly (30 x\’s) in the back for the safety of the officers because they thought the individual was armed. As for no reason to arrest or charge him – can you not read ? He may or may not be found guilty, but there was more than enough probable cause for an arrest based on the information provided in the article. I have no idea where your (likely) unjustified dislike and mistrust of law enforcement comes from, but most officers are honest public servants trying to make an unsafe world a little less so. Sure, there are exceptions, but the same can be said of any profession.

Really! You are a complete jackass. All cops are bad? You are so incredibly stupid it’s pathetic. Grow up moron

  • Mike Robbins May 31, 2019, 7:12 pm

Jake, you show real class in your references to the police. It’s obvious that you’ve had plenty of dealings with the police, likely as the perpetrator of some bad behavior offense. Next time you need help, call your local socialist commissar. You’re sure a first class jerk.

  • Grampy Tom May 31, 2019, 6:58 pm

And you are stupid until proved smart. Don’t hold your breath!

  • Smithmeister May 31, 2019, 6:34 pm

Innocent until proven guilty, even if you don’t like what he stands for.

I was riding my bike early one morning and my helmet cam recorded an ..a-hole in an Escalade repeatedly trying to hit me and run me off the road. I took him to court. He was a partner at a major accounting firm. He didn’t get convicted but, the judge excused all of us and held a “private conference” with the defendant. My riding buddies met me in the courthouse parking lot to plan the next Sat. AM ride… he was slumped over the steering wheel in his car. His wife (who lied for him in court) screeched out of the parking lot in her Jaguar. My guess is that he was served with a divorce action that afternoon…

My girlfriend explained to me that being an A-hole is not a part time job. He was an A-hole to me, an A-hole to his wife, an A-hole to his kids, an A-hole to everybody…. I didn’t get my “pound of flesh” out of him but, I’ll bet his wife did.

An A-hole is not “sometimes” an A-hole. It’s a full time job!

    • SN May 31, 2019, 1:41 pm

Addendum: BTW, there’s no law against being an A-hole …unless you step over the line. The 20 cars that HAVE to get around you in the merge lane…. the guy that rides your bumper at 20% over the speed limit…. never mind the attorney’s (professional A-holes). As a CCL, you don’t violate traffic laws, you don’t engage in road rage, you don’t drink and CCL, you avoid bad places, you avoid confrontation and you don’t engage in arguments! You can’t shoot someone for being an A-hole (it’s perfectly legal)! The longer you “carry” the more you hope you never, ever, ever have to shoot anybody! Remember, .0001 seconds after an A-hole screws, takes advantage or, even tries to rob you, he doesn’t remember you exist! Shrug it off and don’t get your panties in a bind!

Sen. Clesson “Junie” Blaisdell, a former state senator from Keene who served 15 terms,” In prison?

  • Gramps May 31, 2019, 9:50 am

I think it might not have gotten a lot of coverage in the media because, well, the details are pretty silly. He confined a family member for a few minutes? Stepped on their hand? I mean, it’s certainly douche behavior, but that’s not particularly interesting.

    • Jake May 31, 2019, 11:47 am

      “Silly” now gets you arrested….

  • Dr Motown May 31, 2019, 7:27 am

Well, at least he now has fingerprints on file when he wants to buy a gun someday in NH….LOL!

    • PB- dave May 31, 2019, 8:24 am

Not if he gets a conviction on domestic violence…… wonder if he’ll scream for his civil rights then ?

  • Retnavet May 31, 2019, 6:50 am

Reading those charges…..Wow what a vicious bastard huh?….oh well eff him.

    • Jake May 31, 2019, 11:45 am

It might be you, That the blue pigs charge with trumped up charges next buddy, maybe they just say they THOUGHT you had a gun and shoot you in the back about 30 times…. ya know, for their safety.
      Wake up.
I do hope he gets rapped for representing blue pigs in court thou… but no legal reason to charge or arrest him other then power hungry little dick blue pigs.
