EOTech holographic sights have earned worldwide popularity in law enforcement, military and civilian markets. In fact, there are a half million Model 512 and 552 sights in circulation. EOTech’s newest product, the Model 552 Laser Battery cap, adds to the capability of these popular sights by adding a pair of lasers. Available as an option on a new Model 552, or as an upgrade for sights already in the field, the Laser Battery Cap simply replaces the existing battery cap. On one side is a red visible laser. On the other side is an infrared laser for use with night vision devices. The addition of an optional remote pressure switch lets you turn them on or off as your needs dictate while keeping both hands on the weapon.
More good news from EOTech: thermal imaging is finally coming down in price. The other new product EOTech brought to SHOT Show was their X320 Thermal Imaging Unit. It doesn’t seem that long ago that thermal imaging devices were the size of a suitcase. The X320 is a far cry from that. Weighing a mere 13 ounces this hand held unit slips easily into a pocket. Day or night, you can see through rain, dust, haze, and foliage. The detection range is 800 meters, it offers 2x, 3x, or 4x digital zoom, has a resolution of 320×420, and it runs for up to 6 hours on 2 AA lithium batteries! The price of thermal imaging has always been out of reach for most of us, running in the $10,000+ neighborhood. At an MSRP of $3,500, the X320 isn’t cheap, but it’s an excellent price for this kind of technology. Check out the video to see the kind of performance you can expect.
I wonder if KelTec will try to do any better for those interested in buying their downward ejecting .223 bullpup rifle than they are at getting the KSG to dealers. I still want one of the shot guns but refuse to pay nearly double the Suggest retail price.
I read that: “Florida-based Kel-Tec has just received ISO 9001:2008 certification as a result of their efforts to streamline and accelerate production while improving their quality control, taking things to a new level.”
Let’s hope they can start actually moving product.
Let’s hope they can read the article to see it’s not actually about Kel-Tec.
$3,500.00 count me out
That’s the price of the thermal alone. Not the add ons for the 551 552.
