Elliot Rogers Shooting – What is Wrong With This Picture?

Don’t worry, this is not a speculative piece that the shooting in Isla Vista California is some kind of false flag or hoax. Though it is odd that the author of The Hunger Games lives in Sandy Hook, CT., and this shooting was allegedly done by the assistant director for one of the shooting locations on the first movie. It is also kind of strange that Janet Napolitano, the former head of Homeland Security, is the president of the school that this campus town is connected to. It is also really weird, as Jon Rappaport at NoMoreFakeNews.com points out, that in 2001, in the same town, Isla Vista, another director’s son (this guy directed Ally McBeal), ran down and killed someone as well, because of a girl…on the 23rd of the month. But enough of that. Lets get on to what’s really upside down about this story.

1. The father of one of the victims, Richard Martinez, came out and condemned the NRA and all of us liberty-loving gun nuts, because his son had “a right to live.” Now, this may have just been a knee-jerk reaction that naturally came up. Sandy Hook force fed a lot of people a line of thinking that would point immediately to the guns and to the NRA. Or he could just be a standard California moonbat. But wouldn’t you think that grief should overcome all of that? Wouldn’t someone want to condemn the real causes behind such a senseless loss of life? He knew by then that the killers father directed The Hunger Games. Wouldn’t a more valid response have been, “This is what happens when you promote a culture of violence and sit kids in front of movies and video games that glorify killing innocent people.” The Hunger Games is about kids killing kids, after all. The killer’s 140-page manifesto talks

This cover was ready to go before the shooting even happened. Given the facts of the case, it makes no sense that these would be the first we see of it. Wouldn't you expect "the face of a killer" kind of cover? This is not complicit idealist liberalism. It is a plan they are executing.

This cover was ready to go before the shooting even happened. Given the facts of the case, it makes no sense that these would be the first we see of it. Wouldn’t you expect “the face of a killer” kind of cover? This is not complicit liberalism. It is a plan they are executing.

about playing video games. Why would you make a public statement like that, so specifically mentioning the NRA, unless you were fed the lines?

Does anyone remember Katie Couric quietly interviewing the grieving Barden parents from Sandy Hook talking about how their six-year-old daughter thought people should only be able to have guns at gun ranges, without a tear in their eyes? It was so clear to anyone watching that these parents had been given a script and agreed to say it. This Martinez father, who now says he wants to grieve with the father of his son’s killer, is no less of a shill for the plan to take our guns. Our hearts say ok, but our minds should be saying STOP and think about how much sense this makes in the real world.

2. Seven “victims” is the total, not the gun deaths. You have to dig through even detailed reports to find that Elliot stabbed three people in his apartment to death before attempting to get into the sorority house. Why aren’t the knife victims being delineated in the headlines of the totals of those killed? Even according to the official story, Elliot killed his three room mates first, by stabbing them. Nonetheless the story has been reported ad nauseum as if there were six shooting victims. The seventh is Elliot, who we are being told killed himself (which makes no sense because this over-privileged, narcissistic kid would have for sure wanted to hang around to be a star).

Why would the media report on seven deaths as if they were all part of a shooting rampage? The real facts of the case are that, after killing three people in his room, the “shooting rampage” involved the killing of two girls after Elliot failed to get into a sorority house, then one guy, the one whose father has been so vocal about blaming the NRA. There apparently were also 13 wounded, some of them from the car crash.

This is hardly a shooting rampage compared to the death and destruction being openly wrought by gangs in many of our inner cities. The parents of those victims aren’t usually white middle class though, so nobody thinks to feed them lines about the NRA then interview them on TV. Three guns and over 400 rounds left in the back seat? It may sound callous to say something so cold, but in America, over 70% of violent crime is committed by repeat offenders that we let out of jail. Thousands of young people die every year to experienced lifetime criminal gangbangers who use far less hardware to commit much more damage. Three middle class white coeds out of six total victims get killed by an over-privileged, video game addicted, narcissistic kid who apparently can’t even shoot well, and it becomes time to re-examine the nation’s gun laws.

Should we be so callous? One of the stories floating out there is that one parent is calling his daughter “everyone’s daughter.” Most likely this is also a line that was force-fed to accomplish something. THAT IS CALLOUS! BLAMING THE NRA IS CALLOUS! NOT REPORTING THAT HALF THE VICTIMS WERE STABBED IS CALLOUS! We are fighting for our lives and the lives of our children here. Government is the mass murderer of history, not narcissistic 22-year-olds.

A few of you left out there have a problem believing that the media is directly involved in a plan to alienate American gun owners from the voting public who have never been exposed to firearms. Even besides the Bloomberg-financed shills who always show up to comment on these articles, there are some of you who think it is silly to assume anything but what we are officially told.

These giant gaps in the coverage of the Rogers shooting are more than just a bunch of left-leaning pacifist hand-wringers looking at things through their warped paradigms. This is a deliberate script that they are delivering, one that was waiting for them when they got the call to cover the shooting. The media is always obsessed with the “official death count” on any mass killing or disaster, as well as how the individuals died. They say these facts over and over and over again like anyone cares if 203 people died in the tornado or only 201, and whether a few of the victims officially died of heart attacks. Why on earth would they sweep the three stabbing victims under the rug if they didn’t intend to use this for yet another push for new gun laws? Nearly every media outlet I have seen has made the point that all three of the supposed guns, two Sigs and a Glock, were purchased legally. In the latest round they are saying that the ammo was also purchased legally. Who would think to make that point? The old “those people couldn’t legally own those guns anyway” argument isn’t going to fly on this one. It is another layer to the cake they are baking. The one that they will use to test the cremation ovens for us, the people who don’t walk in lockstep with their ideals.

3. Sniff, sniff, it smells like the entire message from this event will be that the government should have been more able to use Youtube and Twitter as resources to prevent crime, ie. MORE SNOOPING. And, which is very much related to my review of a high-budget 2nd Amendment film this week (published prior to the shooting), the media is actively pursuing the mental illness angle. Elliot saw a lot of shrinks. He was prescribed anti-depressants, and he was diagnosed with Asbergers syndrome. Now, if you actually read through the Wikipedia page on Asbergers, it is one of those extremely vague diagnosis like Fibromyalga. It also really had not been diagnosed condition until the 90s. And as for psychiatric meds for kids, the medical world has been on a tear to prescribe ADHD meds for the last decade. This is going to have serious 2nd Amendment repercussions when all of these kids are denied guns later in life because they had a history of psychiatric meds when young.

4. The manifesto is not being talked about AT ALL. It says very little that I can find about guns, but video games factor in quite a lot of Elliot’s life. The Reuters guy who uploaded it to Scribd for some reason won’t let anyone download it, but transcriptions are starting to appear. One I found has it divided in sections, and from 4.1, 14 years old, Elliot says “After the first few weeks of high school, I concluded that my time at Crespi would not be pleasant at all. I withdrew further into the World of Warcraft, neglecting my homework and spending all of my free time playing it.”

At an even younger age, Elliot was playing Halo and killing people on his TV screen. Throughout this time, he claims to have developed these hatred feelings for women that resulted in this shooting. Yet no connections are being made to video games. The talk is immediately about the guns and how this will effect gun rights in the future.

Nowhere in any of the media coverage or the official story is there one ounce of contrition for making a movie in which kids killed kids, for a mostly kid audience. Nowhere in this story is there a mention of video game violence. Nowhere in this story is there a mention of over-entitlement for young people.

And nowhere has anyone called the entire video story a bunch of hogwash. Anyone who thinks that this kid who is driving what is probably an $40,000 BMW, posting private jet pictures to his Twitter and who has a daddy whonot only directed part of The Hunger Games, but who posts naked pictures of his wife online, hasn’t kissed a girl, is dumber than the Huffington Post writer who told people to look for a stick when facing a gunfight.

Is anyone going to stand up and call the media on this stuff? A tragedy is a tragedy, but it isn’t an excuse for a free pass on reporting on things that just don’t make sense. I’m sure more will come out about this story as we go along, but a couple days in, a lot of it doesn’t make sense. But one thing that we know for sure. They are coming after the guns.

Instead of whining about conspiracy theories and “liberal media” why not address the REAL issue here. This young man was severely and chronically mentally ill. He had been in continuous treatment by a number of mental health professional since he was in his early teens. His social media rants clearly demonstrate a narcissistic, psychopathic, sociopathic individual with at best a tenuous grasp on reality. He used knives and automobiles to do most of his killing because he couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn with his firearms. This guy should have been locked up so far back that air would have to be pumped in to him. Only one problem; the mental health care system is so messed up in this country that guys this dangerous are walking around in every town, city, hamlet and wide spot in the road. Instead of squealing about too many guns, lets start squealing about too few asylums! You can send this rant along to any liberal media of your choice. I’ve already sent it to my Congressional delegation.

Sandy Hook was a hoax. And maybe something did happen there that day, but I personally think it was ginned up to epic proportions. What really makes me laugh is the fact that they were so adamant at locking down the school afterwords and then proceeding to tear it down. Sounds like a good way to hide the biggest piece of evidence that was left….and where are more photos of this Lanzza? And they had a new security system installed in the school just before this happened, why would the photos be so grainy and where is the rest of the footage/stills from this kid entering? Seems to me like the whole thing was cooked up to add fuel to the fire, but the fire didn’t ignite like they hoped. While I will admit this as well seems rather fishy and almost like the kid was scripted to act like this, I’m not sure if this is like Hook. One thing that does stand out is the fact that it doesn’t seem like his attitude was the same only a couple years ago. Why the sudden change to his ultimate downfall in the last year or so? And yeah, the comments by some of these people and victim’s families seem out of place. In other words, there is a time and a place, not the day after your kid dies. Just bizarre.

All families. My prayers forward to understand and prevent such further tradgedy.
This and such events seem rare yet when also stab frequently. My prayers for all affected.

Martinez blames the NRA and Congress for not passing all of the “common sense – reasonable” laws gun grabbers want.
I’m pretty sure this took place in California, which already bans, “assault weapons” and high capacity magazines. California has universal background checks and makes it nearly impossible to get a CCW permit. California college campuses are Gun Free Zones. California is a liberal anti 2nd Amendment nuts dream come true. Yet, all they have done is provide unarmed, defenseless victims. Liberals want to be judged by their good intentions not by the results of their lunacy.

    • John May 28, 2014, 10:32 pm

I like this guy. Hits a home run out of the park, and could probably point out even more common sense issues if he wanted. But we have too many stupid people in this country to even understand what he just said. So sad.

When are people going to GET IT!!!!! People kill people not guns. All of these mass murders have had MENTAL problems!!!!! The ONLY way to stop a bad guy with a gun Is a GOOD guy with a gun!!!!!! How many times has an
ordinary gun carrying citizen killed people on a rampage? Pass any gun law u want to, It wont make a damn bit of difference!!!

  • Neal May 28, 2014, 1:59 am

You have made many good points. Though regarding Asperger Disorder, now considered an Autism Spectrum Disorder, is the real deal and if his family was aware of this diagnosis they had the ability to provide a shadow or caretaker to provide this young man with an opportunity to share his feelings. Even the link to Wikipedia (which you provided) describes real conditions of people with this disorder, my son is one of them. I am not in favor of tighter gun laws or more regulation in California or the nation, but somehow the system failed allowing this individual to legally acquire firearms. I have to wonder why his parents weren’t more involved in his life or knew of his deep negative feelings.

    • Administrator May 28, 2014, 9:01 am

The point is that it is a new disorder and a very flexible diagnosis that can be applied to anyone and everyone that they deem unfit.

      • mega not mensa May 29, 2014, 11:39 pm

As were all disorders and diseases at one point ! Stop trying to validate your pathetic prejudices and obvious ignorance.

Is there a Uigher connection. The Uigyhars have killed dozens in the couple months, using knives. Why is there no blood in the front seat of BMW?

In reference to the “Don’t worry, this is not a speculative piece that the shooting in Isla Vista California is some kind of false flag or hoax.”…. if it looks like a duck, and walks like a duck…. well…. lets start saying what we are REALLY thinking, and not what MIGHT effect sales.

how soon we forget the rise of Hitler and other dictators first order of the day to take over free countries and people. BAN AND CONFICATATE ALL THE GUNS. wake up AMERICA !!!! our country is under attack.

  • A Patriot May 27, 2014, 12:53 pm

Enough. The government doesn’t NEED to do anything. There have always been a lot of crazy people running around, and some have always gone bonkers and killed others. Who but God can tell who the crazy is that is going out sometime in the future to kill? Certainly not our government who have proven through countless bureaucracies that they can’t successfully manage anything. But, the corruptocrats with their media lap dogs will continue to push fantasies that actually promote the concept that no one has a right to defend themselves or their families, except of course, the corruptocrats.

Both Elliot Rodger (Santa Barbara) and Adam Lanza (Sandy Hook) suffered Asbergers Syndrome, an autistic disorder that manifests itself in various ways and levels-of-intensity. A diagnosis of autism indicates the person will have difficulty dealing with social interactions (i.e., they will make mistakes when dealing with people), but can be intelligent and use their intelligence in a highly focused manner. Clearly they both needed help, and should not had unsupervised access to weapons without direct supervision by someone familiar to them.

  • Don Tros May 27, 2014, 12:17 pm

Yes, this all seems to be the case. But less than 1% of the total population is getting it, so those who “own” the mass media and our elected officials are winning the battle and will win. It may take a few more years, but they will win. They have won in almost every other country. They will win here.

  • Woody May 27, 2014, 11:41 am

The parents of this kid tried to do the right thing in calling the police about their sons behavior just prior to the shootings. How often have we heard”why wasnt anyone aware” or do something earlier. Are the police really the best ones to judge someones mental health? This kid was able to fool them and that was his biggest fear was the cops getting in the way.Maybe on these types of calls in the future they should have a qualified mental health expert be present.

  • Neil Ringlee May 27, 2014, 11:27 am

Everything required to prevent this incident is already contained in California Welfare and Institutions Code Sections 5100 to 5200. The Rodgers and the therapists simply did not use the processes defined in the Code to get young Elliot barred from possessing firearms and other dangerous items and enter that in to the National Criminal Instant Check System. Had they done so, we would not be having this discussion on this incident but another would pop up in the future to prompt the same discussion that the media never has about mental health and criminal behavior.

Go to the National Shooting Sports Foundation’s excellent site called FixNICS. They detail the efforts by the shooting sports industry to change state laws to incorporate comprehensive mental health reporting to the NICS system. You will see there that California leads the nation in reporting so it is obvious to any clear thinker that this is the route the parents and therapists should have taken in the Rodgers case.

If you are watching CNN, MSNBC or any of the major print media sites you will not hear about this. That is by design. Keep the narrative off of the real issue, mental health, and focus it on disarming the American public.

This Marine says nyet! Fix the problem. Fix NICS. That can only happen in State Legislatures. Semper Fidelis

I think that the gun ban thing is outragous . they dont make much about the mass killing with a knife or the persons that run down a crowd of people with a car. they report it once and thats it you here no more. they scream lets ban knives or cars bombers dont get as much attention. they need to pay attention to people that have mental problems. instead ignoring them untill its too late

    • steve May 27, 2014, 11:46 am

I forgot a word in my reply . It was supposed to say( lets ban guns) instead of lets ban

    • mtman2 May 27, 2014, 12:58 pm

With the car he was driving, he could have done worse than he did with no knives or guns.
At 100mph right through a large helpless crowd, then what would the Left say? Probably not much,
because it wouldn’t fit or further their purposed narrative to tear apart OUR Bill of Rights and control of society.

  • Dan May 27, 2014, 10:08 am

To Greg and others who want to soften the report. Why should we soften our stance to our enemies? They will attack us no matter how we stand or where. They will not back down. If multiple NRA believing kids were killed by one of their own, we would still be blamed. Look at California, New York, Connecticut, New Jersey and etc. We stand back, allow them all of the talking points and lose our rights even further. The left always attacks, they are predators. We need to be predators as well and recognize them for what they are. Predators are often cute, but they are still deadly. Nope, someone attacks me or my beliefs, no matter what he/she has lost, I will attack right back. I am not going to analyze their reasons, they are the enemy. When we were fighting Nazi Germany, did we try to find common cause with Hitler? Because he too had a very difficult childhood. We only lose the battle, when we start trying to find common ground when it just isn’t there. There are two different countries within this one. Make no mistake, if the left fully wins, you will die. History has always recorded this. Look at all of the Bolshevik victories. Read what Lenin stated about the how they will be victorious in the end. They will use their useful idiots without any compassion, I will call them out if I can. I am glad this site did so. Those parents that are shills for the left, are either useful idiots, or absolutely evil and are dancing even in the blood of their own children.

    • Greg May 27, 2014, 1:42 pm

And Dan makes my case for me that we can be our own worst enemy by providing the anti-gun forces with the quote of the day. He writes of the parents of murdered children that they “are dancing even in the blood of their own children.” This contemptible, grotesque and vile swill is the equivalent of what the military calls “friendly fire,” and does much more harm to our cause than the lamentations of Richard Martinez ever could.

  • Harold May 27, 2014, 10:06 am

My understanding is he attacked and killed 3 people with a knife(100% kill ratio). I know over a dozen people were shot and injured(3 killed), don’t know how many he missed, so I’m thinking less than a 20% kill ratio with the gun. To me, this proves knives are more dangerous and should be registered. Serial numbers should be required and background checks completed on anyone deemed to have a legitament need for a knife. Going out for a steak, either pass a background check, with a 2 week waiting period or have your steak pre cut by the chef, ( if he is not a criminal and therefore not allowed to possess a knife.
I hope everyone calls their congressmen and demands a knife ban as soon as possible. If you agree with me, you are as crazy as the gun banners. Have a good day

  • Toothii May 27, 2014, 9:46 am

I will ask, yet again, why was a known mental health troubled kid allowed anywhere’s near a knife, much less a firearm? The parents knew this kid was troubled. He was under counseling, the police knew about him and his sociopathic rantings and yet he garners both a knife and a firearm and kills 6 people, three by stabbings and 3 by gunfire with numerous people injured. Of course, the knee jerk reaction is to once again blame the weapon. He could have used his car to mow down people just as easily. I don’t know for a fact, but I’ll bet my last dollar that this kid’s parents are both liberals and that he was one as well, probably registered democrats. Recent history will show that all of the mass shootings that have occurred in the last 15+ yrs were done by liberals. Not a single rt leaning conservative/republican. As far back as Columbine all were libbers! They either amassed their own armament or stole it from a friend or relative. A simple solution would be to ban firearm ownership from all liberals. A realistic solution would be to 1. better safeguard one’s weapons, 2. improve the mental health treatment protocols so that indiviuals under treatment are fully assessed and not allowed to obtain weapons & 3. allow law abiding citizens to legally carry so as to give them a figthing chance at survival and perhaps even stop a lunatic BEFORE he kills. Being defenseless in front of a madman with a gun, knife, baseball bat, bow and arrow, or whatever makes no sense what-so-ever! The left would like to see all guns taken away. That’s no solution, for those who would use guns in such criminal ways, would pay no attention to such useless laws.

    • mtman2 May 27, 2014, 12:41 pm

Like I’ve also said before none of these whacked out spree-killers mental condition was unknown to parents, family, school, friends, neighbors, police, and mental health professionals. And probably like the rest was on and maybe off his -meds- and they are going to be looked back in time as -the bane of OUR era, for many reasons.
Police were at his “housedoor” but didn’t do just diligence by focusing on the parents first, to have 2 detectives see them in the home to interview and look through the boys effects(w/permission) WHILE he was interviewed downtown. Then they and parents would’ve been off the hook for being thorough instead of falling short now with hindsight, after the horrendous acts are done but probably would have interveined. If the parents cared to do right for their son and society.
Same with both CO’s; AZ, VI, CT shooters, even the Ft Hood, DC+Boston killers were known to have signs and clear warnings.
Blaming me and other American citizens and OUR Rights as a cause, effect and purpose to shift guilt and responsibility would be actually childish in its shortsightedness! Obviously ulterior motives are throughout their premises.

“Is anyone going to stand up and call the media on this stuff?”
The author of this article has a lot more punch and any of us readers. Go ahead and stand up for all of us. Just be sure you have it right. Thanks

  • skm May 27, 2014, 9:00 am

To the author of this article:
I agree with your point of view and believe you have a point that needs made.
Reading the article, though, leaves me confused.
You have several antecedents without clear precedents, several places you assume the reader knows certain facts, that I for one do not know. And it is written as though someone were speaking it, instead of writing it–we all use different patterns in writing as opposed to the patterns we use when speaking.

This is the internet, and everybody mistypes and has spelling and grammatical errors. You may well find grammar errors in my comment here. That is only a problem when the mistakes cause the message to be garbled.

I am writing this, not to find fault, but to encourage you to go back and fix the errors so the good point you are making can be clearly heard and understood.

Blaming video games and TV for the violence is more ludicrous than blaming the guns. Please stop. You’re calling out everyone involved as a conspirator yet creating one yourself.

Video games, like guns, have nothing to do with it. If somebody thinks killing a bunch of people will solve their problems, something is seriously wrong with them mentally. That is the issue, not guns, not video games.

    • Administrator May 27, 2014, 9:03 am

At some point we as gun enthusiasts have to accept that it is our G-d given right to protect ourselves being blamed for the culture of gun violence in which we live. If and when these events occur, every proud gun enthusiast should stand up and demand that all of the other factors in the case are looked at, and not just access to guns.

If you as a video gamer can’t understand that, then you do not value your own freedoms, and you do not realize how easily they can be taken away. Overall gun violence in America is down, and gun ownership is at an all time high. This is about a corrupt media, an out of control government and a drugged and distracted populace that follow the lead sheep. Do you really want the whole conversation to be about gun rights? Where do you really stand?

      • Adelbert Waldron May 27, 2014, 9:45 am

I have to agree with Cawpin. It is not about video games or bad movies, though I subjectively guess they and the false God worship of celebrities in the country is contributing to the downfall of society. This is purely a mental health issue. That is the common string through all the mass shootings in the USA. What causes the mental health issue is beyond my skill set.

I also agree with the author’s point that: “This is about a corrupt media, an out of control government and a drugged and distracted populace that follow the lead sheep.” Very true.

I’m split on Richard Martinez though. He’s in a terrible place. He is lashing out through grief and we + the NRA are a logical place to start from that mind state. I think this will change with time as did the reaction to Newtown and the Gun Control laws, like the SAFEACT. Newtown now have elected to follow the NRA’s approach and have armed school security. The majority also understand that the Gun Control laws are ineffective and only serve to vilify and punish innocent people. Remember, I said the majority, not the extreme or paid sponsors of the disarmers. The rest are ignorant and uninformed, which is partly our, the gun communities, fault.

I believe that in the future if the victims families of these atrocities start suing the politicians and school officials connected with Gun Control for fraud, dereliction of duty and their fiduciary responsibility we would have a different outcome to these tragedies. Which hopefully would start with mental health reform.

      • DaveGinOly May 28, 2014, 12:02 am

I think it’s important to note that a few things connect almost every mass shooter:
        Video games
        Psychoactive drugs
Liberal ideology (a culture that denies the importance of responsibility – “It’s Bush’s fault,” self-restraint, discipline, and delayed gratification)
The one thing that does not connect them is an attachment to actual American “gun culture.” With, I believe, one exception (and who that exception may be escapes me at the moment), these criminals are not target shooters, hunters, competitive shooters, or NRA members, and they aren’t “good ol’ boys” or ranchers with shotguns and rifles in their pickup trucks. The media fixates on American gun culture/NRA in response to these events, and this is the very thing that’s ABSENT from the connections linking these murderers.

        • Brian May 28, 2014, 6:02 am

Once again, correlation ≠ causation. Most recent statistics/studies I could find showed that nearly half of all households in this country own AT LEAST one dedicated gaming console. Statistically, you’d have just as much credibility as if you’d said he did this because he was male (which is to say, not much).

Psychoactive drugs you can make a case for, as those have scientifically proven and repeatable adverse effects, which could potentially have caused some of these people to do the horrible things they did. But to even attempt to file video games under possible causes for this or any other violent act is little more than grasping at straws and scapegoating “to protect ourselves being blamed for the culture of gun violence in which we live” (your words, admin), and it severely undermines your credibility.

I understand that some of the folks who read/comment here may not be familiar with video games as a whole, and that’s perfectly fine and understandable. But please don’t act like you suddenly have an understanding of the people who play them and how they affect us every time it becomes convenient to try to divert attention from guns. I’ll be the first to agree that guns and 99.9999% of gun owners hold no blame and should not be punished or held responsible for these tragedies, but paranoid fearmongering and flailing about for someone else to pin the blame on, rather than taking a logical approach, is not the way to make your case; all it does is weaken it in the eyes of those you’re trying to convince.

By using the “Gun Violence” P.C. speak it is my opinion that you (we) are buying into the P.C. of the whole debate. Yes it is violence that has been perpetrated with a firearm, but just for the sake of making my point if the violence was perpetrated with a hammer would it be classified as “Hammer Violence?” Voilence is violence period ! It’s the same as classifing semi-auto firearms that look like fully auto military firearms as “Assault Weapons”. Another term that continually gets used by them and by us is “weapon”. My shotguns, rifles and handguns are not weapons ! None of my firearms has ever killed anybody and hopefully will never have to be employed in that way. I view my firearms in the same way as I do fire extinghishers, I own them, know how to use them, but hope I never have too.. We all know the difference, why perpetuate the misconception? We as gun owners should at the very least not fall into this trap thereby helping those that would disarm us by justifing their terminology.

And THIS is why members of the public suspect and distrust Second Amendment devotees. You can certainly disagree with Richard Martinez on legal grounds, Constitutional grounds, moral grounds, whatever. But to mock him in the immediate aftermath of his son’s murder is just plain dumb and shortsighted. “Or he could just be a standard California moonbat.” Yeah, that will get us a lot of understanding. Dispassionate reasoned discourse will carry the message, guys, and not crude insults – “a shill for the plan to take our guns” – directed at the bereaved.

You obviously do not know much about the extreme liberal mindset in California. The drug induced, super socialistic theme that President Obama bases his beliefs on and the same mindset that fuels mentally distorted politicians such as Nancy Pelosi and Diane Feinstein. These people have no concept of the principles of freedom America was founded on and work day and night to turn us into another version of the former USSR.

Greg, while your points are valid, your conclusion is not. There is a concerted effort by those in charge, those who own and control the mass media, those who finance “our” elected officials, to convince the masses that private gun ownership is unnecessary, and even dangerous. And once they have done so, they will pass laws to restrict private gun ownership even more and then eventually take them.
So while the author could have worded it differently, only a very small part of the population will read this (gun owners), and if the others did, they would not believe any of it because it goes against the years of propaganda.
My point is, its a mute point. We aren’t going to win the popularity contest! We are out funded and out “gunned”! Pun intended!
We should keep opposing this, as it does prolong the inevitable, but make not mistake about it, they are going to do it!

Greg, I lost my son to herion overdose last fall; believe me I know what he’s going through. Did I grandstand on TV and blame as many unrelated things as I could; NO. He’s also a criminal lawyer.

Where is the second shooter the witnesses all said there were two shooters in the car? Hmmm…smell familiar? How come we don’t see that on cnn or fox ? Where is the second shooter from sandy hook? I saw him chased down from the helicopter camera behind the school. I saw the witness on the ground say “they caught the second guy he’s in that police car right there”. Witnesses say he was wearing camo jacket and dark pants like the shooter hmmmm…never heard anything more on that huh? Police claim it was an off duty cop? Really? Why was he running away from the school towards the woods and trying to flee the cops? I smell bull shit

Does it say if the gun is registered to the shooter? As a Californian with the crazy gun laws here they never report if the guns were stolen or bought over the counter. What they don’t understand bad people will always have guns so why shouldn’t we to protect our selves.

    • DAVE May 27, 2014, 8:19 am

The guns were all purchased from licensed fire arms dealers. He went thru all the background checks. He also had only 10 round magazines per California law. Everything was purchased legally.

Good points, all. The Sandy Hook mysteries are still unsolved, and there is some compelling evidence that the Sandy Hook event is a scripted one. Anyone can google for that information. As for the media, the chairman of every major broadcast company is a current member of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), and they will always fully support the New World Order/One World Government agenda.

These events will continue as regularly as the rising and falling of the tide as the so-called Progressives (communists) seek to over-throw the Constitution of the United States. As long as the liberals can send paychecks to the urbanites, the urbanites will continue to vote for free money.

I heard a Pastor say he had a dream in which God told him that the “tares outnumber the wheat”, and I believe it. There is a scripture in Daniel that states “When the power of the Holy people is finally broken, then the end will come”. Note that the sentence begins with the word “When”, and not “If”. Evil will triumph in the short run, but ultimately the Lord will shut it down. We are outnumbered, and most likely we will be attacked on a large scale in the near future.

Personally, I just want to offer my thanks to you and everyone like you stands true. In the end, when we fall, we will still be the victors.

The problem is the physiological drugs them selves. If you notice that in last couple of years all of these shooting are linked to the shooter using or once using these drugs. We all know what happens to an alcoholic, or a addicted black market drug user when they where using them and then suddenly stop. These shooters have became chemically dependent on these physiological drugs, maybe a specific group of new chemicals that have been on the market in the last few years. Also every autopsy in every suicide case always reveals there is a major shortage of B vitamins in the person’s body. Our body uses B vitamins to make serotonin and other chemicals for our neurotransmitters that keep our chemistry in check. Take countries who have garden food as a primary source of diet have very few suicides. However the majority of Americans now consume processed foods. You take a nutrient deficiency in combination with horrible parenting that was influence by ignorance, evil and greed equals a social meltdown of society. Here is a question I want answered. Why aren’t the families of the victims suing the drug companies for this disaster? Especially sue happy Cali. Maybe the NRA needs to do it on the families behalf.

I’m a gun owner for personal defense. I carry because when in Rome its sensible to do as the Romans do. I wish I didn’t have to but I’d be foolish not to. If the government can move this society steadily to a point where its not necessary for me to carry a gun, then I’d applaud them for it. This article fails because its inaccurate in the opposite direction to those it states are liars. Far more than half the victims were injured and killed with a firearm. I’d bet Elliot would have struggled to kill himself without a gun. Sound bytes are just noise. That’s the case you try to make. If you just use sound bytes yourself you’ll only reach the converted.
