The famed 1911 specialists at Ed Brown are putting their skills toward making an even better polymer-framed striker-fired pistol with their new MP-F4 Fueled Series pistol. Like the previous Fueled pistols, the MP-F4 is based on the Smith & Wesson M&P pistol, reworked to its core to be the best.

The new MP-F4 stands out with its golden fluted barrel with a titanium nitride finish. The extended, threaded 416 stainless steel, button-rifled barrel is suppressor-ready for 1/2-28 suppressors along with the black nitride finished slide, which sports custom raised suppressor sights. The slide also has lightening cuts along the sides and on top to really show off the barrel.

Other changes to the slide include straight slide serrations, front and rear, and a relief cut at the rear for optics. The slide is cut for Trijicon and compatible mini red dot optics to co-witness with the iron sights. The front sight uses an Ameriglo Pro-Glo tritium lamp with a bright yellow ring for contrast against plain black target sights.

The slide also features an enhanced reliability extractor for improved performance and consistency, along with a custom serrated alloy backplate.

Chambered for 9mm Luger the MP-F4 comes standard with one 17-round flush magazine and one extended 19-round magazine. Both feature custom Ed Brown baseplates, which are machined from aluminum with a black anodized finish. The magazines tuck into an Ed Brown Low Profile 360-Degree Magwell for fast reloads even with its slim design.

When it comes to the trigger Ed Brown selected one of the best, Apex Tactical. The Apex Tactical M&P trigger is a wide, flat-faced trigger with a passive trigger safety.

But the big changes are far from cosmetic. Every Ed Brown Fueled M&P is built on a Custom Accuracy Rail, which replaces the factory locking block and front rails. Like with their 1911 components, the Accuracy Rail starts as an oversize component that’s custom-fit to get the tightest slide, frame and barrel fitment for the best possible accuracy. To make sure the rail and frame fit as tightly as possible, Ed Brown also uses their own custom pins instead of off-the-shelf M&P parts.

Like other Ed Brown products, the MP-F4 is part race gun and part duty pistol, made to excel without compromising on reliability or performance. One thing they aren’t is inexpensive. For this level of custom work the price for an MP-F4 is $2,195, the same as the other Fueled series pistols.

“After over 50 years of being the custom 1911 source, Ed Brown is now the custom M&P source as well,” said Ed Brown Marketing Director John May. “Just one more reason, that if you haven’t looked at Ed Brown in while, it is time to look again!”

The current wait time for Fueled pistols is right around one month. For more information about the Fueled series and the rest of the Ed Brown product stack, visit them online.
