Overview
How to store your gun in the car is a challenge many people face. Not all of us are allowed to take them into our workplace (it’s a fireable offense at Off The Reservation not to bring one to work, but then our CEO is awesome), and for some people in certain situations, it’s just not right to take them to social functions.
Some people don’t carry on their person at all, and that also brings up the potential problem of leaving untrained personnel in the car with the hand cannon.
EAA has solved this with a pretty innovative solution.
Features
- Larger Body Designed to Fit a Wider Array of Pistols
- Garage Door Protector Shield
- Key Pad for Pin Entry
- Key Fab for Fast Access Proximity Entry
- Tough and Durable Polymer Body Keeps Your Pistol Secure
- Spring Loaded Retention Holster
Impression
The Car Abdo is essentially a lockable gun vault in your car, the entire system runs off of a fob.
The Abdo has many built-in features, such as tracking should your car be stolen, and alerts on your phone if access is attempted.
When the system is armed, though, watch out. With the push of a button, the vault slams open, and a spring loaded system shoots your gun into your grip.
This solution isn’t going to be right for everyone, but it is a nice option to have.
Price and Availability
MSRP is still unknown, but EAA expects to have this out later in the year.
For more information, check out the EAA website.
When is this available and how much? I would like to order right after you email me . Also is it universal for all cars and trucks . ( Jay ) Thank You
Just FYI – As soon as I scan through an article that doesn’t list the MSRP for a product, I don’t read the article in detail and I usually forget about the product. So please do us a favor – stop showing articles about any product that doesn’t have a listed price (or an anticipated price point).
Clay, How about a follow-up to your story. I have been following the Car ABDO for almost 2 years. What’s up with this product? This is getting worse than Phantom software promises. Are they ever going to release this thing or not? Can’s get a straight answer from the company. All they will say is “sign up for our newsletter for updates.” How about a real update for a change instead of marketing spin and vapor-promises?
First, it’s a very poor video of the product!! Second Don’t show anything without a “Price”!! If your going to show an item “DON’T-COVER-IT-UP-WITH-A-BANNER”!!! We want to see the full size of it and how it works!! Do you have to order it for each type of gun?? Because one that fits a 380 Pico, won’t fit the Desert-Eagle .50 Cal!! Also it doesn’t show how it mounts or the many ways it mounts if it has more than one like it should… What does it use for batteries or is it hardwired into the car?? So before you bring something to the show “Think” things through and have a in-depth presentation that answers most any question about that product because the “BRAINDEAD” People at Shot show hasn’t realized that the business’s would sell 1000 times more products if they had 2 days “OPEN TO THE PUBLIC” after 3 Days of just wholesalers, Something like Monday-Wed Business only, and then Thursday-Friday they can go to the range to shoot, while the Convention Center is “Open to the Public” That way, we could see the stuff first hand and also give feedback of what we want and need!! Because Wholesalers don’t give a crap of what we want, they only care that you give them a good price so they can make the most money!! Local shops don’t care what we want unless it’s already in stock or they can get it quick through their wholesale dealer… But if no one makes what we want then they are not going to waste their time to call the maker and let them know someone is looking for something different!! So we are stuck either fabricating something our selfs or we go without complaining for 20 years until someone finally makes it!! It would be so much easier to just go to the show and tell the maker what we need so the next year we can have it!! Or sooner!! So step away from the “Bong” and lets get back to work!!
I like the fact that it doesn’t really look like a safe, so it should go unnoticed for the most part. Also like the spring loaded quick access. I am concerned about how it mounts in the car though, I’m not sure how you’d mount it securely without having to drill holes in your interior.
Polymer? Meh…
I just gone for order but they have no option for international shipping.A bad day for me.
Anyway another great post by gunsamerica !As a gun lover and blogger i appreciate your your every post.
Did you not understand the guy in the video when he said they won’t be available until the end of the year?
