It’s officially porch-pirate season. Amazon boxes are stacking up, Ring cameras are working overtime, and thieves are cruising neighborhoods like it’s Black Friday every day. It’s frustrating. It’s infuriating. And this holiday season, it’s also getting people arrested.
A recent case out of Atlanta is a loud, flashing reminder of a hard truth for gun owners: you can’t shoot someone over stolen packages.
According to police, two teenagers approached a home on Celeste Lane after spotting packages freshly dropped off by a delivery truck. Before they ever made it to the porch, the homeowner opened fire.

Both teens were hit. One in the torso, one in the foot; both were rushed to the hospital. One remains in critical condition but is expected to survive, per FOX 5 Atlanta.
The homeowner? He’s sitting in the Fulton County Jail facing two counts of aggravated assault, plus additional charges.
Atlanta police were blunt about it. Yes, a property crime was occurring. Yes, packages were being stolen. But deadly force to stop a theft? That’s a fast track to prison.
This case popped up the same week NBC News highlighted just how massive the porch piracy problem has become. An estimated 104 million packages were stolen last year, averaging 250,000 packages a day, costing Americans roughly $15 billion. Chicago, New York, Miami, Houston, and Baltimore top the list.
It’s easy to understand the anger. You work hard, order gifts, and some dirtbag helps himself. But none of that changes the legal reality: deadly force is for stopping an immediate threat to life. Not protecting Amazon boxes.

No matter how good your aim is or how righteous you feel in the moment, pulling the trigger over property almost always ends the same way: criminal charges, financial ruin, and a lifetime of regret.
And here’s the kicker. These cases become ammo for anti-gun narratives. Every bad shoot over a pizza box full of stolen packages gets used to paint all gun owners as reckless. Meanwhile, the actual law-abiding majority gets stuck cleaning up the mess.
There are smarter options. Cameras with lights and sirens. Delivery instructions that keep packages out of sight. Package lockers. Trusted neighbors. Even letting the thief walk and filing a report beats explaining your actions to a prosecutor.
So this holiday season, remember the rule that keeps gun owners out of headlines and behind bars:

Ok Dacian, here we go. The reason many states are doing away with the CCW permits is simple, they are not called for in the Constitution. Nowhere does it call for a permit to allow a citizen to exercise a right. Think of this, do you have to have a permit to vote, or to speak your mind? No, you don’t. The Constitution says (and yes, I know this is a partial quote so spare me the the left wing mantra about the militia) “The right of THE PEOPLE to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” Read that again, “to keep” own arms, “to bear” to carry those arms.
Concealed carry was the preferred method to “bear arms” for the first seventy years until holsters became practical.
The Kentucky constitution was the first concealed carry law that went into effect since the legislators thought this was done only by criminals.
The next concealed carry laws were enacted during Reconstruction and were aimed at disarming blacks. Florida actually banned all firearms to blacks at that time, even though it was legal before the Yankee invasion.
There are ten states that require firearms training to purchase a firearm. ALL are blue states under democrat control.
Next time you wish to get into a long post with “your facts” please post links to the articles. The ones I’ve posted are easily researched under “first concealed carry laws”, “what states require firearms training before purchasing a firearm”, oh and of course “text of the US Constitution”.

Jefferson and Madison were in shock and terrified that the slave revolt would spread to the U.S. Jefferson and Madison wanted to entice all the States to join the Federal Government and told the States they could form their own Miities to protect states rights which would include the wholesale murder of slaves if they revolted. Personally, I have never had to show a government issued photo ID when I have voted. A voter registration card does not have a photo, so there is no way to prove that the person presenting a voter registration card is that actual person. Personally, I believe that all voting should be done IN PERSON AFTER PRESENTING A VALID GOVERNMENT ISSUED PHOTO ID not just a piece of paper saying SOMEONE registered to vote, but as my own polling place has proven, that doesn’t happen. And let’s not forget all of the news stories by your leftist mainstream media that called out all of the dead people and non-citizens who voted in Chicago & NYC.

The Supreme Court DID NOT put restrictions on full autos & silencers. Those were written in the National Firearms Act of 1934, NOT 1933. In 1986 Reagan signed the Firearm Owners Protection Act, which contained the Hughes Amendment that was snuck in at the 11th hour by NJ DEMOCRAT William Hughes, that only banned the ownership of machine guns that were not registered before May 19, 1986. So, Reagan did NOT ban all full autos. And Bush did not sign any assault weapons ban. That was Clinton (a Democrat) 7 years before Bush took office, and which has expired.

The 2nd Amendment WAS NOT written during the Haitian Slave Revolt. It, along with the rest of the Constitution, was written in 1787-1788 and ratified in 1789, TWO YEARS, before the Haitian Rebellion, which began in 1791. On top of you writing this lie, I would like to see any documented evidence that ANY of the Founding Fathers gave the states permission to MURDER slaves, or that any of the militias confiscated weapons from the very people who just drove out a dictatorial oppressor. And what is a “Miities”? And Jackboots? I think you’re getting ahead of yourself by about 150 years. In lieu of real guns and ammo to safeguard one’s life and property, may I suggest a suitably equipped paint ball gun. Choose your favorite paint color and artistically enhance the perps plumage. A couple of strategically placed paint ball shots to the groin may also slow down the running perps. If you can advise the LEOs to BOLO two, for example, yellow marked individuals, the LEOs may appreciate your thoughtfulness.
Imagine how many less thieves the US would have if we were allowed to shoot porch pirates. The only way to make America a better and safer place to live is to get rid of all criminals. Storing them in a cell, paying for three hots and a cot while hoping they learned their lesson and won’t do it again, is not the way to do it. We’ve already proven that doesn’t work.

I have known men who “did” stay home and took care of their elderly parents until they passed away. They then inherited all of their property and while they were living at home their expenses were so low they often had close to several million in the bank before they were 30 yrs old. Now they vacation in exotic foreign countries, have new young foreign girlfriends every year in a different country, and live the bachelors dream of a lifetime.
And if you vacation in a poor country the women often treat you as a living God or at least Royalty waiting on you hand and foot and catering to your slightest whim. And I forgot to mention that in “civilized” societies it was considered the “sacred duty” to care for one’s parents in their old age and families often consisted of 3 generation all living together, the Grand Parents, Parents , and the Children. Considering the fact that they had narcotics thousands of years ago the addiction rate was far lower than it is today as well as the divorce rate, so having 3 generations living together with all the wisdom of the Grandparents was not a bad idea at all. I’ve lived in other countries, some third world and some first world ( I speak Japanese.) I’m an MMA coach, which means I teach and have befriend all kinds of people. It’s been my observation that, city dwellers rely on government to keep the city functioning. They become dependent on government for most everything. In turn, the Government is very big in large cities. Large cities usually are Democratic. Everywhere else people don’t want government to control them or deny them what they feel are their rights. Placing Government run city rules on everyone is never going to work.

So you have been to other countries and would not live in any other that the U.S. Well if you were in other countries you obviously were there for a very short time, probably only in days and by the way you do not even have to travel to foreign countries to study their Economic systems and Political systems. I might also add that being in a foreign country while in the military is not the same as being there for an extended period of time as a civilian where you meet and make friends and get to know the people “not as enemy aliens” but as human beings not any different than yourself.
I might add your praising the U.S. and that you would not live anywhere else shows you don’t even know that in the Western European countries the workers who are unskilled make more money per hour, get triple time on Sundays and have affordable health care, retire sooner, and get higher retirement funds, and they also get free job retraining as well as free tutors for their grade school children and free higher education for their older children.
We are the only Industrial Country on earth that lets people die in the street like dogs because they cannot afford even preventive health care. That’s shameful for the richest country on earth but lately rich only for the well to do, not the troglodyte worker slaves who must work two and even three part time jobs with zero health care benefits and zero retirement benefits.
What is not taught in High School History classes (for obvious reasons) is that during the big Immigration influx back in the early 1900’s from Europe 50% of white immigrants worked just a few years to build up a nest egg and then went back to their home countries. After 1945 when the majority of European Countries both Eastern and Western went over to a Socialized Government and Socialized Health Care the desire to come to the U.S. fell drastically in Western Europe and even lessened in the much poorer Eastern European Countries. In the 1970’s the U.S. left in a big group of Russians who when they finally learned that when you lost your job you lost everything resulted in 75% of them returning to Russia. They began to miss the Russian social Agencies that took care of their every need if they got into medical or economic trouble.
As a matter of fact years ago when Putin first became leader of Russia they brought a homeless American back to Russia who told his sad story that when you lost your job you often lose your home, unlike in Russia where everyone who wants a roof over their head is given a place to live in. Putin then told the Russian people “Listen to this American and you will learn the real truth about what it is like to live America'”. Naturally this story was part propaganda but the homeless plight of this American Man was the part that was all to true for thousands of Americans and remains so to this very day. Die like a dog in the street because we Republicans could not care less and will not give you a penny to help you out.
I might add that “civilized countries” have job retraining that is not only financed by the government but often private industry contributes funds as well as part of the mix of financing the retraining. We once did that as well until the Capitalvanians because they are now so blinded by greed and corruption that they simply cast their workers into the streets and would not think of retraining them, after all anything that would reduced the obscene multimillion salaries of the C.E.O.’s or lower the profits for the Stockholders is verboten.
Back in the 1960’s high paying jobs were so common you had to be dead not to find one in only a couple of days and the big city streets were often as safe to walk down even at night as small town U.S.A. Trying to blame today’s poor for living on welfare because they will not work or get too many handouts shows you have never been on welfare in your entire life. I assure you that President Reagan’s fantasy speech about welfare queens that picked up their checks while driving new Cadillac’s was an insult to every person who was ever on welfare.
One of the biggest outrages was when Paul Ryan who when destitute went to College on Social Security Funds then when years later became Speaker of the House tried to do away with Social Security by privatizing it. In other words He got his cash and now was going to screw other needy people out of their eligibility for the same types of educational programs. What a Hypocrite.

Nothing could be further from the truth as the “majority” of gun owners “realize we need vastly improved gun laws”. Surveys prove it beyond all doubt. I might add the gun club I have belonged to most of my life with over 1,000 members mostly vote Blue and realize that “enough is enough”, we need European or even Japanese style gun control in the U.S. Did you know (probably not) that in Japan you can “indeed” by and FN semi-auto 3006 rifle for deer hunting. I have talked to Japanese hunters and seen the weapons myself yet they do not have the mass murders we do because of their excellent draconian gun laws which vet out nut cases, also have safe storage laws, and train people in the safe use of guns and knowledge of all their gun laws. Did you know that even the Japanese Mafia do not use guns because they get no second chance if even caught just carrying a firearm.
I might add Gun Registration in Europe has been law for decades yet Europe is still awash in guns. And in the U.S. we have had gun registration under the National Firearms Act since 1933 and no one’s machine guns or silencers have been outlawed and confiscated, none. So the Right Wing Bold Face lies that Registration leads to confiscation is not born out by history.
Now let us suppose that tomorrow the Government outlaws all assault rifles. Registration would not even be necessary to implement that law because now your banned firearm could never be used in self-defense, never be sold without risk of going to prison and never even be fired without risk of getting caught so the Far Right Paranoia about Registration is simply Non Sequitur. Registration is not even needed to ban guns. What Registration “does do” is cut of the easy availability of firearms to criminals who use unvetted second hand guns.
We have on average “every” year 45,000 gun deaths, 1,600 which are children. We have the most mass murders of all the industrialized countries. In the industrialized countries of both Europe and Asia have “proven” that their gun laws “do work” and have resulted in way, way, less gun deaths and mass murder.
The “day of reckoning is coming” the out of control Republicans have screwed the economy with Tariff Taxes and destroyed what little affordable health care we once had under Obama up to the point that the Republicans have no chance in the mid terms or the next Presidential election. Sane gun Control, Universal Health Care, Job retraining, the restoration of Women’s Rights, Workers Rights, affordable Higher Education, safe drinking water and air to breath, and the back on track laws for Solar Energy to vastly reduce carbon emissions from coal, natural gas, and petrol fuels will all finally “catch up” to the progress the other Industrialized Nations have already made.
I might add that in the last big budget bill the Republicans even eliminated 33 million for the study of Childhood cancers while giving Argentina 20 billion in our Tax money.
And I might add the current murder of people at sea, including machine gunning to death survivors is not only against U.S. Law but also against International law. Britain has now quite sharing valuable intelligence with the U.S. because of this. Also Foreign countries now have free reign to murder U.S. Service men because they have the excuse that we are doing the same to Venezuelans.
I have learned that in some cases with some people that are victims of deep paranoia are incapable of thinking clearly or logically and even when the truth is presented to them on the 5th grade level their out of control paranoia results in a simple rejection by a wave of the hand, “Do not confuse me with the facts as I refuse to be educated”. I don’t what country YOU live in, but let me set you straight, and I say this as a former federally licensed firearm dealer, life long gun collector, firearm instructor and range master, life-long level 4 Golden Eagle NRA member, and various other firearm groups and organizations, there has NEVER been “mandatory training” before you can “buy a gun”. You are correct but what I should have said is that many States are doing away with mandatory training before issuing a concealed carry permit and doing away with concealed carry permits altogether which of course is pure insanity. Put yourself in the position of a Police Officer who has no idea if the person he has stopped has a criminal record or not because many times data is often incomplete or has changed in the information they have on you. And furthermore, when there is no mandatory training for concealed carry the person carrying a gun may only have the foggiest idea of when he is permitted to shoot or not shoot. Again, pure insanity. Even a 5th grader would have no trouble understanding this.

States are not doing away with mandatory CCW training, no matter what you hear or see on The View, MSDNC, CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS and all the other left-wing agenda-spinning news organizations.
I have MANY cop friends and shoot with quite a few of them and they are not concerned with law abiding legal CCW carriers. The people they are concerned about are the left-wing hood rats that could give two shits about legal gun ownership, much less 2nd amendment gun rights. No matter how much you left-wingnuts argue should be stripped from all Americans. It’ll never happen. Americans have proven that time and time again in the polls the last 30 years no matter how hard you socialists/communist push that ridiculous agenda.

We have more than enough gun laws on the books to take care of any of our society ills. All you have to do is enforce them. Slam closed the revolving door justice system. Before shooting off your pie hole, do a little research. In my own home state of Ohio, you “no longer” are required to have a concealed carry permit or take any training what-so-ever. Other States have done the same.

And In Australia last week the two madmen could not get Assault Rifles with 100 round drums like they can buy here in the nut house of the U.S. and if they had they would have killed easily 300 or 400 people, instead they only managed to kill a few. And the Prime Mistieer was correct when he said that even those few were too many and they now need to tighten up their gun laws further so that nut cases like that cannot get any weapons, period. This is not rocket science to people who are sane and can think logically.

Don’t make us knowledgeable people roar with laughter. Many, many demented Conservative states have “no laws” preventing the sale of “second hand guns” with “no paperwork” which is pure insanity. Those states have “gun runners” who ship in thousands of unvetted guns into Northern States and Big Cities that have tough gun laws making those gun laws absolutely useless. The FBI has proven that there is an “Iron Highway” of illegal secondhand guns flowing into Northern Cities and States. Again, pure insanity.
And in “two” Chicago Studies the average gun used in crimes was “second hand” and had been through many hands and had come from States with no secondhand gun vetting of gun sales. Interviews with Criminals in prison also confirmed they get their guns “second hand” with no paperwork.
