A tow truck driver in Detroit fought back against an armed robber earlier this week. He emerged victorious, much to the surprise of the would-be thief.
According to Detroit Police, the incident occurred on Young Street around 9:30 a.m. on Monday, when the suspect, who was armed with a firearm, targeted the tow truck driver.
The suspect did not realize that the driver had a CPL (concealed pistol license) and was ready to defend himself.
During the altercation, the armed robber was shot and later died in the hospital.
Fox News reported that the tow truck driver had been meeting the suspect to purchase an old car from him when the attempted robbery occurred.
One witness, who wished to remain anonymous, reported hearing “multiple gunshots, around six to eight.”
“You have to get these crooks off the street one way or another,” he added.
The suspect reportedly had ties to the area. Although, the identity of this individual has not yet been released by officials.

While the incident serves as a reminder of the importance of self-defense, WXYZ News also brought to light a potential issue with insurance companies.
Some towing company owners have stated that their insurance will not cover the liability that comes with arming drivers. As a result, these owners tend to issue policies banning drivers from carrying firearms.
It’s unclear if the driver worked for a company with a no-guns policy. But what is clear — policy or no policy — is that his decision to protect himself ensured that he would finish his shift alive.
As the owner of Action Impact Firearms and Training Centers, Bill Kucyk, stated, “If you are in an occupation where your life is at risk, I encourage you to take whatever steps you need to protect yourself.”
It’s a lesson we can all take to heart in today’s world.

Let’s just face it. The uber libs in the Democratic Party have placed honest people in the position where they have to defend themselves and are on their own. No business owners can approve concealed carry and get insurance to cover the liability. The lawyers know that defense costs are so high that most companies just have to give in and pay, so it’s easy money with no penalty for his sorry immoral ass.
Apparently the person interviewed has never heard of the United States Concealed Carry Association [USCCA], a member organization that provides the costs of legal defense in both criminal and civil courts as necessary, to members who are compelled to use a firearm or other weapon in valid self defense. See their web site for accurate information.. Disclosure, I am one of the attorneys on their panel / list. I’m a little biased.
Worked for a major pizza delivery company at one time that had a no-guns policy. I thought to myself: “Screw your insurance coverage, it’s MY life on the line and you’re not gonna be there!”
If you work for a company that cares more about thire insurance and so little about you that self defense is forbidden- find another line of work where suicide is not a job requirement.
This is a clear example of what it takes to survive in a country that lets criminals go. The New Jersey governor and legislators should take note alongside California.
New Jersey and Kali *like* their criminal class.
What’s the company policy for taking care of their employees families after their employee is killed by a scumbag with a weapon? Are they going to pay their mortgage and bills? Are they going to pay for college tuition for their kids? There’s no guarantee a scumbag isn’t going to kill them even if they are not a threat to the scumbag.
The scum will often murder their victim so that there’s no witness, or anybody to press charges. Also, as a cop once told me, the most dangerous thugs are teenage gang members, who will kill someone with zero qualms just for bragging rights.
