Rick Ector is a Michigan gun rights advocate and firearms instructor. Ector has dedicated over a decade of his life to advancing women’s self-defense education.

His work, under the auspices of his own group, Legally Armed in Detroit, has been consistently backed by the Gun Owners of America (GOA).

Year after year, Ector orchestrates a free, annual women’s training event at two southeast Michigan target ranges. Here, women keen on understanding more about firearms and personal protection convene for hands-on training.

Ector’s initiative has garnered widespread interest, educating thousands of women in the process. Remarkably, the number of trainees over the course of the program has surpassed 7,500.

Recently, the event has seen a surge of attendees, with hundreds of women from varied backgrounds showing up to master the discipline of bearing arms.

Ector’s commitment to teaching women about personal defense and responsible gun ownership continues to attract a diverse crowd, underscoring its importance and societal value.

We applaud Mr. Ector and GOA for the fine work that they do!
