Dark Money Funding New Anti-2A Group to Convince Teens ‘Guns Make Us Less Safe’

in Current Events, This Week

A new gun-control organization has emerged; it’s funded by dark money from progressive donors, and its sole mission is to indoctrinate teens and young adults that “guns make us less safe.”

The name of this new group is called Project Unloaded.

“Through creative and cultural campaigns, Project Unloaded establishes safe spaces for open conversations about guns and provides accurate information about gun safety to inspire the next generation to choose on their own terms not to own a gun,” the website reads.

The New Venture Fund is one of the main sponsors of Project Unloaded, according to Fox News Digital.

The New Venture Fund is a nonprofit that acts as fiscal sponsor to dozens of progressive organizations which in turn do not have to file with the IRS because they invoke the New Venture Fund’s tax-exempt status.

Fox News Digital goes into greater detail:

The New Venture Fund is one of four nonprofits managed by the Washington, D.C.-based Arabella Advisors consulting firm that recently expanded its operations. Arabella also manages the Sixteen Thirty, Windward and Hopewell funds, which contain progressive groups below them. The four Arabella-controlled nonprofits raised $1.6 billion in 2020, positioning themselves as the country’s most extensive dark money network.

Project Unloaded has also received $500,000 from the Joyce Foundation and $50,000 from the MacArthur Foundation.

The MacArthur Grant reads as follows:

Project Unloaded, fiscally sponsored by the New Venture Fund, is a new effort whose mission is to create a new cultural narrative that guns make the country less safe.  It approaches gun safety through narrative and culture change, with young people as the agents of that change. With a focus on teens and young adults, Project Unloaded communicates engaging, accessible information about the risks around gun use, via digital media platforms and peer influencers. Its goals are to permeate culture with the central message that guns make us less safe; shift individual knowledge, attitudes and behaviors during the formative teen years; and build a community of like-minded peers to amplify this message.

Earlier this year, Project Unloaded launched its SNUG campaign, which stands for Safer Not Using Guns.  It hired social media influencers with large followings to spread the message.

It’s not clear what, if any, effect the SNUG campaign has had.  Gun sales are still at near-record levels and, as CNN recently reported, more people of color are choosing to exercise their 2A rights, including many liberal-leaning women!

Back in May, MSNBC interviewed Nina Vinik, the founder and executive director of Project Unloaded.

Vinik spoke about the organization’s nonpartisan approach to the issue.

“The polarized nature of this debate is really kind of turning off a lot of young people. They don’t want to be forced to pick a side. We’re not asking them to pick a side. We’re asking them to get the facts and to make a decision that’s in the best interests of their health and safety,”  Vinik told MSNBC’s Daniela Pierre-Bravo.

Unfortunately for Project Unloaded their mission statement doesn’t hold up under the slightest bit of scrutiny.

To draw an analogy, guns make us less safe much in the same way swimming pools make us less safe.  For the inexperienced, both pose a danger (drowning is the leading cause of accidental death among children of all ages).

But the answer isn’t to confiscate all guns and to fill in every backyard pool.  The answer is firearms training and swimming lessons.

Learn to swim.  Learn to shoot.  Become a capable individual in the face of danger.  Because one can spend one’s whole life hoping one won’t need either skill or one can prepare to do both competently should one ever need to.

And this is where Project Unloaded’s logic falls apart.  It’s trying to convince young people that in a world full of potentially dangerous pools and lakes and oceans your best option is to never learn to swim.

Project Unloaded is doomed to fail. 1) They never call out their pals in Hollywood for glorifying “gun violence” in the movies. 2) The kids, mostly boys, go home after these lectures and play Call of Duty and Red Dead Redemption where guns are cool. 3) Not once do these nitwits ever confront gang-bangers and ask them to turn in their guns.

Firearms are inherently dangerous. They are a tool designed for a specific set of circumstances; Hunting, Self defense, home and state security, recreation, collecting, pest control, war, they are the ultimate equality maker.
Now, as a free man in a free society(supposed to be) I absolutely cherish the fact that we are entrusted with this ultimate responsibility. I would like to ask Blue Dog the following. Are you a good man? Would you ever use a firearm to commit a crime or violence? Is your answer no? Ok then you are like every other law abiding citizen. Do you see where I’m going with this? I hope so.
I think where guys like me and you differ the most is the fact I inherently trust my fellow citizens and vigorously distrust the Government. While you distrust fellow countrymen and worship state or collective centralized power.

Guns definitely make us unsafe when only criminals have them.

Make no mistake, our founding fathers put 2A in place for a reason, they knew what life was like without it.

They are taking cue s from the teachers and the attack of the education system in this country! Indoctrinate them early and gain a huge advantage by teaching lies and division!

“We’re not asking them to pick a side. We’re asking them to get the facts and to make a decision that’s in the best interests of their health and safety,”

Yeah, sure. Only THEY will provide the biased “facts” and heavily propagandize the impressionable teenies with carefully constructed psy-ops. Then, they allow them to make their “own” decision on whether they want to get rid of ALL firearms(to be followed by knives), or do they want themselves and everyone they care about to be murdered by some “MAGA fascist” gun nut. Some decision.

Defund the police, cancel culture, wokeism, as a result of indoctrination and not teaching critical thinking, is the left’s agenda. The means to identify and treat mental health are also missing due to the lack of funding. But let’s not talk about the underlying reasons for the problem with gun violence, no, let’s blame it on something else.

SS indoctrination youth program straight out of Nazi Germany’s playbook. How about we teach our children work ethic, integrity, problem solving, practical trades, and freedom of intellectual property. Let them have liberty and the tools to keep it!

The communists were also quite proficient at exploiting
their youngsters for following the party line . Stalin , mao ,
ho , castro all used the same methods , and were quite
successful at it . The reich had no monopoly on this tactic .
The reason the nazis and the communists hated each other
was due to the fact that their similarities were unmistakable .
“ What one hates in another , they see in themselves .”

Stalin, and hitler, and the nork kings convinced many youngsters their parents werent fully converted to the new way of doing things, and to nark on them. The new-wave socialists and greenies arent much different on that, except they can only get their parents scolded and shamed, and not arrested and put up for trial-and-prison, there being few if any laws to try them on without lying about something, but theyve also been taught, then as now, the ends justify the means (fade out to the sound of the pied piper and ” ‘o-o-obama, we love you so”…)

“Dark Money”. Such a scary term. Usually, there is more “dark money” flowing toward right wing causes and the MAGA crowd so it cuts both ways.

Campaign finance is one of those games that was set up for us to lose, much like the tax code. Especially after McCain-Feingold. Those rules were written for them to know all the ways around the rules and establishment candidates from both parties to have the tools to build these giant war chests while shutting us out. The best example is the Hillary campaign, starting around 2010-ish to 2016. While we can all agree she was the most qualified person to ever run for the office of the Presidency, she and Bill have a horrible proclivity to have to create unnecessary scandals for themselves and the way she financed her 2016 run is probably one of the worst that few talk about, nothing short of money laundering. That the Democrats were able to pull it back together enough to win four years later really is a testament to the Obama machine, not so much the empty vessel they elected on his behalf. Campaign finance reform, primary elections, the electoral college – all ways to keep us out of the business of governing.

    • Rex October 21, 2022, 8:34 am

“While we can all agree she was the most qualified person to ever run for the office of the Presidency”. Belly laugh. Is there no end to your sophomoric hyperbole? Ostensibly no. Once a sheeple always a sheeple. Back to the fold fool.

If you’ll notice, Blue Doggie-doo is a typical example of the Progressive-Socialist mindset, which fixates on lies & ideologically-driven “facts” to state the “truth.” They don’t argue/debate, because their ideas are irrefutable and you better not even question them….. or else!

That’s why there will Never be unity in this country until we rid ourselves of all of them. Ironically, they have the exact same perspective, only 180-degrees different. Civil war? We’re already in it, only it hasn’t gone hot… yet.

Well, well, well. You Finally inject a little truth into your usually erroneous diatribes. But, Blue Doggie-doo just had to let his/her/ its/their true Lefty nature shine through– “While we can all agree she was the most qualified person to ever run for the office of the Presidency,,,”
Oh, that’s so insipid that I’m uncontrollably laughing!

    • Big Al 45 October 21, 2022, 11:07 am

      Quite the statement there BD.
Now, you have ignored challenges before, are you going to ignore this one for your proof on ‘Dark money’ and the Right?????
As to the “we can all agree” claim on Hillary, I see that as proof that your capacity for critical thinking leaves much to be desired.
You couldn’t logically defend that rather vacuous remark under any circumstances.
