Maztech is gearing up for the release of its highly anticipated X4 Fire Control System (FCS) and integrated ballistic rangefinders.
At their booth, David from Maztech shared updates on the product line, revealing features, pricing, and release timelines. Here’s what we learned.
X4 Fire Control System: A Smarter Scope Mount
Maztech plans to release the innovative X4-FCS Fire Control System in March 2025. Interestingly, the system pairs with a user’s existing 30mm LPVO (low-power variable optic) and integrates advanced ballistics software to deliver a heads-up display (HUD) within the optic.
Furthermore, it represents a significant leap forward in optical technology.

“It’s like bringing your LPVO into the new age,” David explained. Additionally, the system incorporates Applied Ballistics software to utilize environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, and pressure.
Consequently, it generates precise ballistic solutions in real time, displaying an augmented reality reticle directly in the optic.
Running on two 18650 batteries, the X4-FCS offers an estimated 500 hours of base operation. Moreover, features like a shake-to-wake function and hot shoe adapters for accessory integration further enhance usability.

While the initial release supports 30mm scopes, Maztech also plans to roll out a 34mm variant later. Finally, Maztech estimates the X4 FCS will cost $3,395, and they expect to begin shipping it in March.

X4 Laser Range Finder: Real-Time Ballistics
Maztech designed its rangefinders to pair seamlessly with the X4-FCS while also functioning as standalone devices. The company plans to launch two models in March:
- 905nm Model: With a two-kilometer range and MSRP of $2,195, this entry-level option competes directly with other commercial ballistic rangefinders.
- 1535nm Model: Featuring a military-spec laser and a single-pulse system, this high-end version offers enhanced performance for $4,995.
Maztech’s vertical integration strategy enables these competitive prices.
“The only component we outsource is the transmitter,” David noted. Everything else, from manufacturing to calibration, is handled in-house.

System Features: Tailored for Precision Shooters
The X4-FCS and rangefinders form a cohesive ecosystem, offering features tailored for those who need to make quick shots at mid to long ranges. The system calculates ballistic solutions based on user-inputted weapon and ammunition profiles, delivering precise targeting adjustments.
A hot shoe interface allows quick integration with the rangefinder, enabling seamless target ranging and immediate reticle adjustment.
The system accounts for most variables, but users must manually input wind speed and direction to improve accuracy. Maztech hinted that future updates may address this limitation.
Final Thoughts
With the X4 Fire Control System and rangefinders, Maztech aims to bring cutting-edge technology to shooters at a competitive price. Scheduled for release in March 2025, these products are bound to make an impact in the shooting industry.

I saw this last year at SHOT when they teased it at the Magpul booth. It’s impressive.
