Clinton on Confiscation: ‘It’s Worth Considering’

in 2nd Amendment – R2KBA, Authors, Current Events, S.H. Blannelberry, This Week

If elected president, Hillary Clinton would consider a federal initiative to confiscate firearms from law-abiding citizens. Yes, it’s true. Clinton would seriously contemplate confiscation were she to become the next president of the U.S.

Yes, those of us with at least half a brain could read between the lines of her anti-gun rhetoric, voting record, and political history and come to that conclusion ourselves, but it becomes a whole different animal when we hear it directly from the horse’s mouth.

Last week, at a Town Hall meeting in New Hampshire, a voter asked Mrs. Clinton, “Recently, Australia managed to get away, or take away tens of thousands, millions, of handguns. In one year, they were all gone. Can we do that? If we can’t, why can’t we?”

Clinton responded by saying, “I think it would be worth considering doing it on the national level, if that could be arranged.”

The National Rifle Association was quick to slam Clinton for her remarks, essentially calling a spade, a spade, a gun grabber, a gun grabber.

“This validates what the NRA has said all along. The real goal of gun control supporters is gun confiscation,” said Chris Cox, executive director of The National Rifle Association’s Institute for Legislative Action, in a statement. “Hillary Clinton, echoing President Obama’s recent remarks on the same issue, made that very clear.”

Clinton also made controversial comments about the landmark Supreme Court ruling that held that the Second Amendment is an individual right, not contingent upon militia participation or government approval. Clinton said last month at a private event that the, “Supreme Court is wrong on the Second Amendment. And I am going to make that case every chance I get.”

Cox also addressed that remark, saying, “Hillary Clinton just doesn’t get it. The NRA’s strength lies in our five million members and the tens of millions of voters who support the Second Amendment.”

“A majority of Americans support this freedom, and the Supreme Court was absolutely right to hold that the Second Amendment guarantees the fundamental, individual right to keep and bear arms,” he added. “Hillary Clinton’s extreme views are completely out of touch with the American people.”

Are they though? I’d like to believe that she’s the radical and I’m the average Joe but I can’t help but to see a change in sentiment. I mean, it used to be that talks of draconian gun laws, let alone confiscation, was political suicide in presidential politics (remember Al Gore?) but the Democrats running now seem very open to the idea of putting the Second Amendment on the chopping block. That was evident at the debate last week.  Perhaps the times are a changing. What’s more, is gun-control organizations are certainly taking note — and the credit for this apparent shift.

“Gun violence prevention has been front and center on the campaign trail this season and again in the Democratic debate tonight, and that’s a reflection of how far the gun safety movement has come in the last few years,” said John Feinblatt, President of Everytown for Gun Safety, in a statement that followed last week’s debate.

“This is a marked change from 2008, when gun safety was largely avoided during the presidential campaign,” he continued. “The political calculus has changed — candidates are now running on gun safety.”

“Less than three years ago moms across the country came together to confront the gun violence in our country that kills 88 Americans and injures hundreds more every day, and tonight we’ve seen the power of our movement,” said Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America Founder Shannon Watts, in a statement.

“The myth that addressing gun violence is a political third rail is now in the past,” said Watts. “As tonight’s debate shows, candidates can talk about solutions to reduce gun violence because there is a growing movement of Americans demanding their leadership on this issue.”

At the risk of sounding like a bit of an alarmist, I’m scared by the normalization of gun-grabbing. I know the political realities are such that enacting gun-control at the federal level is still an uphill battle for gun grabbers, but it is also apparent that they are making real headway, real progress on their mission to Europeanize U.S. gun laws.

Gun owners really need to come together in 2016 because if we don’t show up at the polls to keep a Hillary administration from taking over the White House, Clinton won’t just talk about taking our guns — she’ll actually attempt to do it.

“mission to Europeanize U.S. gun laws”…this statement is funny. Well not really, because in the end it meas no guns for anyone but the government. But do consider that European laws are now drafted based on US, Canadian and Australian liberal legislatures. Not the other way around. People in some European countries still enjoy no mag limits and concealed carry for personal protection with laws supporting that. It is about to change and where did EU get the idea? U.S.A.

When did so many men in this country become skittish little girls?! I’ll explain:
I see the gun-grabbing attitude almost continually, whenever a discussion about today’s criminal activity pops up…and almost to a person, EVERY female taking part in the discussion articulates distinct uneasiness, if not outright FEAR, towards any kind of firearm. Strangely, they don’t fear the perpetrator so much as they do the firearm; their attitude toward the criminal in question is “Let’s just catch him and put him in prison to learn his lesson” vs “…they’re dangerous and kill people, nobody really needs one” and thereby completely miss the point that PEOPLE are the core threat, regardless of the method used. Now for the kicker: every male I’ve ever encountered (at least here in MI) who supports confiscation says EXACTLY THE SAME THING! So when did we all lose the ability to consider a topic in a dispassionate manner? This is (supposedly, and according to our wives and GFs) something that we men are very good at! How many times have we been reminded that we have to consider some other person’s feelings? So if as a gender we’re so good at being objective or calculating, even to a fault, I ask again: When did we as men become a bunch of skittish, approval-seeking, touchy-feely, anti-logic, peace flag waving pansies? There was a time when we admired “rugged individualism” and all that it stood for.
QUOTE: “I am sorry to say the world has become a pussy-whipped Brady Bunch version of itself…” (Simon Phoenix, “Demolition Man”)
Such is my rant these days. And by the way….I consider myself an Independent voter.

  • Pete November 1, 2015, 2:40 am

Well, if she does go on to attempt confiscation, then it will be a time to stop talking and fully exercise the rights under the second amendment as they were meant to be. There is no way they can stop several million citizens exercising their rights, they do not have the man power to stop them all, the space to put them all or the political will to do so.

  • Ron G November 1, 2015, 1:27 am

You all know Hilary so I don’t have to say anything about her. For some of you that think the feds could never take your guns, read history. When we think something is not possible we are asleep. What I would like to point out is so obvious that we may be not seeing the forest for the media lie.
If guns could teach violence then desks can teach algebra. The dramatic increase in mass shooting have followed the fantastic increase in violent video games and movies. Video games in which one’s score is equated to the number of kills is an effective teaching tool to the mentally disturbed. Who owns the game and movie industries? Liberals! The very people making the moves against gun owners.
Wake up people – it’s all part of the plot.

When I served in the military, I took and oath to defend our nation from enemies both foreign and domestic. Just because I am no longer in the military doesn’t mean that I stopped defending our nation or Constitution from enemies, both foreign or domestic. Mrs. Clinton should keep that in mind before she or any of her brown shirts come to kick my door in. They may take me out, but by God I will take several of them to hell with me. That, I swear to God and promise. Electing her or anyone else president does not erase OUR Constitution, not in my life time. Besides, I can always use the practice. Can never get too much practice and will look forward to it.

Something of interest. Sheriff’s are elected, and my local Sheriff is about as pro-Second Amendment as they get. During the 2012 elections, our local liberal anti-gun, anti-Second Amendment, anti-America newspaper tried to take my Sheriff out by doing hit jobs on him on a daily basis. He won reelection with an overwhelming majority of the voters in my county. The liberal shill that they tried to instill, ended up walking home with no shirt, shoes, and I don’t think any underwear either. I don’t suppose that my local Sheriff or We The People will cooperate with Mrs. Clinton’s desires or wishes.

  • John Q October 30, 2015, 7:08 pm

Has she heard about the Supreme Court ruling that individuals have THE RIGHT to own firearms? If she were to try confiscation it would be a direct violation of her oath of office and be just cause for impeachment. Be real people this is America and its OUR country NOT the politicians

  • John lock October 30, 2015, 2:39 pm

Her and her husband belong in jail, I hope for the sake of all the lives both are. Responsible of losing that justice catches up to them. Bill lied under oath on national television, and Hillary lied about our Ambassador with 3 other heros died in vain. I am sick in my stomach that I had to kill North Vietnam soldiers who are better people then just about everyone who are inside the belt way.

    • Pat June 4, 2017, 8:31 pm

Wow !!! Well said. Thanks for serving

  • David October 30, 2015, 12:58 pm

…I have a couple of questions.

…What are you going to do if the government tries to confiscate? Might be hard to go back to work after resisting. Especially if you make the 6 o’clock news.

…What do you think goes thru Bill’s mind when he sees Hillary’s big ass after she comes out of the shower. Do you think that he wished that he had a gun so that he could blow his brains out? …sorry if I made you lose your cookies.

  • Richard October 30, 2015, 12:39 pm

…More holes in what the commentator/Sanders and Clinton are saying than in a 10 pound block of Swiss cheese!
Shrill-Ary states..”…Gun manufacturers the ONLY manufacturer NOT held accountable…”..REALLY? LIE! Take a car manufacturer, IF they build a vehicle with a proveable defect and people are hurt and or killed…it’s lawsuit time! Take a gun manufacturer that builds a gun with a provable defect and it’s lawsuit time also!! Tell the truth Shrill-Ary you lieing hypocrit! What you SHOULD have said is that YOU and other Anti-American Commie gun-grabbers want is that anytime someone is shot with a gun, the manufacturer of that gun should be sued!! Well…IF that is your thought, lets make it to where when some drunk kills someone with a Chevy…that CHEVY gets sued!! Fair is Fair Shrill-Ary! Shrill-Ary ststes that “90 people a day are killed by guns”, WRONG! Latest stats are between 50 and 65 people a day killed by guns. BUT..that includes LEO shootings, self inflicted, accidental too, NOT just by some looney which is the REAL reason BEHIND any crazed murder…a gun NEVER shot anyone by itself, period. Shrill-Ary, you neglected to mention that 90 to OVER 100 people a DAY are killed by DRUNK DRIVERS!! YOU also failed to mention that AUTO accidents kill between 117 and 130 people EACH and EVRY DAY, (OVER 43,000 a year) the NUMBER ONE killer in the US. The NUMBER TWO killer EVERY DAY in the US is the FLU, (OVER 36,000 a year) thats right, the FLU..should we ban the FLU?? I’m down for that! Guns deaths fall in at NUMBER THREE, surprise Shrill-Ary…you and your husband deserve each other, I have no doubt you make each other totally miserable at the thought & sight of one another!
    OOPS!!!
I do tend to forget that Commie Libs never allow the FACTS to get in the way of their propaganda…DON’T TREAD ON ME!

she should come to ok to seize our guns. seizure will end right there on the first doorstep. but she ain’t got the tit to do that herself.

Growing up in the 50s and 60s and being taught and not connecting to history because we were told only the positive side of our USA history. Now in my life I can read about the big mistakes that were made in the past can I better understand it.I have learned that money is the root of all evil and the ones that have it rule the World. This is fact and will never change. It is to bad that all of us here in the World do not understand our destiny.Us as humans will be just another life form that will become extinct.

  • Gary M. October 30, 2015, 9:25 am

Let’s face it. Gun Control/Gun Confiscation is a liberal idealogy. Any liberal who speaks against it is simply thrown out of the club! I doubt either Sanders or HRC have themselves fully thought out the ramifications of what they “promote”. If history has taught us anything, it is that gov’t confiscation of personal firearms is one of the first steps to a dictatorship. A gov’t that fears the populace (armed) is a gov’t that maintains liberty. A gov’t that has no fear of the populace is tyranny. There is no logical defense of disarming a law abiding populace other than by a “gov’t”that wants to totally control the people. Our Constitution expressly prohibits that and if the left persists in this venture what they will get is civil war and they will lose!

  • Ramkiller October 30, 2015, 9:24 am

This video clip did not back up the written article concerning the statement it claims that Queen Hillary made. However, based on the statements she did make in this clip, automotive manufacturers should be held liable for the actions of drunken and mentally disturbed drivers.

  • Ram6 October 30, 2015, 7:56 am

These no nothings at town hall meetings cite things about which they they no nothing. They hear something and think “hey that’s a good idea” and demagogues like Hillary Clinton who will do or say anything to pander to a potential voter confirm their stupid idea. Sp here are some facts about the wonderful results of Australia’s gun confiscation program.

    * Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2%
    * Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6%
    * Australia-wide, armed-robberies are up 44% (yes, FORTY-FOUR PERCENT)
    * In the state of Victoria, homicides-with-firearms are up 300%
    * Figures over the previous 25 years show a steady decrease in homicides-with-firearms (changed dramatically in the past 12 months)
    * Figures over the previous 25 years show a steady decrease in armed-robbery-with-firearms (changed dramatically in the past 12 months)
    * There has been a dramatic increase in break-ins-and-assaults-of-the-elderly.

Meanwhile Europeans are chasing long guns (the only kind available there) off the shelves to protect themselves from the Islamic invasion currently taking place in the form of “refugees” from Syria, Iraq, and other war torn countries. Their smug and condescending attitude towards us Americans and our firearms is now coming home to roost. She might try, if elected, to enact some sort of buy back or confiscation program, but American firearm owners will revolt in mass at such an attempt.

    • Fred October 30, 2015, 9:28 am

Ram6- I recently read a lib rag that says all these facts about Australia are bull. So when a lib reads their “news” what are they going to believe? Also, what you say about a confiscation program and firearm owners revolting, don’t bet on it! Out of all the millions of gun owners in this country how many are NRA members or any other pro-gun outfit? From my experience, most Americans today are too lazy and too easily influenced by the media. I remember trying to get guys at work to join NRA or at least vote pro-gun. They would have no part of it. They vote Democrat because their parents did and they always have and nothing is going to change them.

      • John L October 30, 2015, 10:01 am

Hey, joining the NRA costs $35 a year! I can buy a 30 pack of beer for that same amount. Seriously, been a member for 40 years. Best money I’ve ever spent. Apathy is alive and well even among gun owners. Something I have never understood.

    • Professor October 31, 2015, 4:54 pm

This is the kind of information that we law abiding gun owners need to get out to the uninformed public. simple facts.

  • Jason October 30, 2015, 7:50 am

The biggest problem we will have in the future is our dumbed down, uninformed, unpatriotic youth which has been conditioned to be addicted to internet devices and who have far better things to do than listen to Dad or Grandpa explain the History of how we have our rights and freedoms and USA!! Kids have been conditioned to lose ya after the first sentence if there is no pop up, flashbang or excitement to peak theyre interest and keep theyre wandering attn from incoming mail or texts. They have no concept of having to kill theyre own food or grow it,(most anyway) theyre has been no War that got close enuff to our soil to warrant any fear and if theyre was they are too lost to care! Well with events of 9/11 and ISIS this is quickly changing, but basically we are sending our kids to school n college to be experts at forgetting our history and to pander to immoral degradation of what so many faught n died to ensure us! I have two children and I see it with them and thats smalltown KY? Fact is the harder we work to ensure our kids fit in and have a chance in this country the more our heritage, history and rights will be infringed when they fill the jobs in Washington. Change is a good thing and advancement but its not good when it makes us lazy, unhealthy, panzied, instant gratification fools that are so well entertained or cozy that we start trusting our Govt with all power and not verify what theyre doing. We have in short all got to cozy and distracted and allowed the elite or rich of this world decide our destiny or best interests for a long time now and thus Obama and the pukes of Washington were making millionares off our hard work to break laws and ignore our Constitution and corrupt our youth to turn on God and country! Most important thing parents can be doing is making sure we know what our kids are being fed mentally and physically! And teach them to be informed with us and to resist tyranny or altering what made this country come to be the greatest land in the world! We owe it to our founding Fathers and Patrons who gave all they had to allow it to exist! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

Get a clue people! The progressives, socialists and communists that were rioting in the streets in the 60’s have been teaching our children and grandchildren their view of the world in the public school systems for nearly 50 years! Among the topics are: America is the world’s BULLY, the US military is made up of “baby killers” and “war mongers” and last but not least “guns are dangerous and not meant for the unwashed masses” They are coming for us, my friends, and they WILL start with our guns.

  • RetNavet October 30, 2015, 6:32 am

If I wiped my arse on Hillabeast face, the bacon-strips would be offended

  • Texas001 October 30, 2015, 6:03 am

And just which people would lose their guns? The honest, law abiding citizen. The criminals would keep their guns and then have a much freer atmosphere to reign terror on the rest of us.

  • Scott October 30, 2015, 6:02 am

We have seen this coming for years. The mainstream left-wing controlled media has been using its power to slowly affect the uninformed general population. Why do you think a psychopath chooses a school to target? Yes it is usually a gun-free zone, so he is assured complete control, but he is now assured WORLD wide coverage for weeks on end and an instant breaking news speech from Obama…these guys have made it the ultimate way to get whatever screwed up message you have across to the whole world!

The biggest problem America faces is the media, because the majority of the population is influenced by it. I grew up on a ranch and guns were a part of my upbringing for protection, hunting and predator control. The vast majority of Americans live in urban areas or large cities that do not have the same background and for many guns are uncommon and thus “scary”. The Left Wing has orchestrated a very smart tactic over the last decade, they have taken every opportunity to blanket the airwaves with death by firearm…and over time it has an effect on people who can not see through the bullsh**. ..and I hate to say it but that’s a lot of today’s Americans. When Obama and the Democrats says the NRA is basically evil, don’t they realize the NRA is supported by donations from the American people???

I can go on for pages on how the media and Obama focuses on only firearm related incidents, and ignores every other tragedy for political gain. The fact is however, as long as the media is influenced by truly anti-Americans like Bloomberg or just out to get a overly dramatic 5:00 news story and spewing scare tactics for ratings, those of us who believe in the Constitution truly are in trouble…because they won’t stop.

  • John W. Flores October 30, 2015, 3:49 am

Come on. Nobody is either willing or capable of confiscating guns owned by any adult without a rap sheet. It would be the dumbest idea ever, and basically impossible to even try. Fear the imposition of martial law, if you want to fear something. That would be very possible in any type of national emergency. Guns or no guns. Really, in all practicality, guns are good for three things: as a tool for hunting, for fun (skeet, targets, or cans and bottles), and personal protection at home or in your own vehicle. Concealed carry? Open carry? Guys who have watched too many movies.

  • DRAINO October 22, 2015, 7:50 am

Happy Birthday Mr. B…..!!!!!!!! As far as Billary goes……..surprise. We didn’t already know this? I know her comments confirm it, but if a person didn’t already know, their head was stuck in the sand (surprise..there’s a LOT of that here in the US). People can’t seem to fathom that its a right to own firearms. Confirmed and guaranteed by our Constitution. This is why people want to come to this country so badly…..because of the guaranteed freedoms. If you don’t like the freedoms…..LEAVE! Go to another place where you don’t have to fight to disarm everyone. Go to a place that is already disarmed. Apparently, every other country in the world has been stripped of their firearms…….and freedoms and rights. Leave the freedom loving people of the US in peace. Don’t go away mad…..just go away.

  • James M. October 20, 2015, 3:56 am

I think this is just lip service to get elected. I think she, and others like her have already proved that they will do anything or say anything to get elected. I think she knows it doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in you-know-what of succeeding but just the fact that she is willing to say it is pretty scary and telling. How about having just a modicum of respect for the million and half U.S. servicemen and women who have died for our country and it’s freedoms and the other million and a half who were wounded and maimed doing the same? Our Constitutional freedoms make us unique in a good way, were paid for in blood and have discouraged more than one country from trying to invade our mainland. People who would roll over for her kind of thinking make me want to puke. The most dangerous thing in the world is the human brain, not a gun.

    • JEFF MCK October 30, 2015, 12:24 pm

As the election rhetoric continues, on the 2nd amendment- I see the 2nd American Revolution gaining steam as these idiotic Control Freaks just keep on trying to take our guns. It would be Prudent(do the know what that means?) for them to remember there are MILLIONS of VETERANS that fought for our rights. They (we) were trained in the art of killing the enemy as well as our depleted military. They will need many more Secret Service Agents to keep them safe when they try to take our guns away. The streets will flow with Blood, most likely, some of it will be theirs. It is not a good decision to try to disarm our Law abiding people. The police have been trying every chance they get to take the weapons away from felons and it seems they are incapable of doing that. Multiply that by a 100000 times, if they try to DICTATE away our gun rights, making ALL legal gun owners Felons by EXECUTIVE orders. We Patriots don’t desire anything but Peace and a little prosperity. This is the promise of our FREE Society which we will defend, such as it has become under Obama and the rest of the people in Congress and the Senate. You see I didn’t differentiate between the elephants and the jackasses who no longer work for the American People, but who regard us as Stupid and moronic because we allow them to do as they please without interference from the people who elected them.

Wonder why someone didn’t ask her what her plan is to confiscate all the guns of criminals. The reason I carry is because criminals tried to kill me on two occasions and I decided “it is better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.”
