Back in April, Blakesburg, Iowa, police chief Bob Lewis drew his gun and pointed it in the direction of a city council member for unknown reasons, reports local media.
The incident was caught on tape, sending shockwaves throughout the small town of 300 residents.
Now city officials are weighing their options on how to discipline the police chief, who told officials that while he pointed the loaded gun in an unsafe direction there was no round in the chamber.
“I see both sides on that,” Mayor Jason Myers told WHOtv.com. “And that’s why it’s such a tough decision to make because I understand what people are thinking as far as needing to get rid of him. But I also understand the other side where, you know, it’s small town politics.”
The city council will meet over the next few weeks to determine the fate of chief Lewis.
That son of a bitch needs to be fired, loss of pension and incarcerated for no less than 5 years. That is very unstable and bizarre behaviour. He truly has Demented Democrat Disorder.
This is a firing situation. The line about an empty chamber is just silly. I watched a chief get canned for the same thing, and it was done in jest.
What cop carries his pistol with an empty chamber? Would it matter if it were a bank robbery and the gun had been fake? No, assault is assault.
Claude I would go to jail to. Its because we are not a part of the Just-Us system. No longer a nation under the rule of law. Thats why hillary can destroy her server. Thats why the irs can destroy evidence. When you are one of the gods you are untouchable.
I don’t see where there are two sides at all? Either its illegal or its not. I am sure if someone read a law book in that town they would probably find out easy enough.
Where I live the Chief of police is an appointed office. Appointed by the Mayor, and serves at his pleasure. So the Mayor can fire him for any reason he wants.(unlike the sheriff, who is ellected.)
So it sounds to me like it is only one person’s problem. The Mayors.
IF the law was broken, especially on video so there is no doubt, then this “what will happen to him bull..” Should never have taken place. He should have been fired that instant (if the Mayor was in fact there), and taken straight to jail.
Then he could have posted bail and went home. That would give the council time to 1) decide if they wanted to bury it all over an extended period of time waiting for trial. Or, 2) if he is like you and I, he would be tried in a few weeks after his mental exam, then tossed in jail to awaite the civil trial that will certainly take place that would bankrupt him. Between the settlement and lawyers fees.
Causing him to have to relocate to Texas or FL, and get a job as a LEO there. Or stay where he is, and get a job at the local car wash.
Maybe they should be looking for a new Mayor as well..??
A civil lawyer could have a great time with this. Sue the pants off the chief and the village for not firing the chief at once.
I would of went to jail for the same thing so he should go to jail for the same charges as the citizen would of got. Does not matter if it was loaded or unloaded, toy or real it is still assault with a deadly weapon. The badge should not make a difference! Book him Danial

Why was there no round in the chamber.
That was my question too!
Why make the problem so complicated with politics? If he pointed a firearm at another person and it wasn’t in the defense of his self or another then it is assault with a deadly weapon and he should be charge and tried. Let him defend his self in court.
Exactly!! A gun is not a prop to use to get a point across at a public meeting. And using the excuse that there wasn’t a round in the chamber in a LOADED gun is beyond stupid, considering how many people are killed with a “unloaded” gun!
