Designed for California and other restricted markets, Mean Arms has a slick new way to reload AR-pattern rifles. It loads rifles with fixed magazines using a modern take on the stripper clip. Called the MA-Loader, the device quickly reloads magazines without having to remove them from the host rifle.
With the MA-Loader shooters can quickly reload their rifles without having to take them apart or permanently modify them. The MA-loader has two components, the clip itself and an adapter that locks into the ejection port. The MA-Loader holds ten rounds for ten-round magazines.
Using the MA-Loader is easy. The clip rocks and locks into the ejection port adapter. With a push of the loading slide it shoves ten rounds into the magazine. It is not an “ammunition feeding device” for legal purposes and obviously blocks the bolt and ejection port in use.
The MA-Loader can also be used to quickly load a rifle stored unloaded for safety and legal purposes. This way people in restricted states can keep a gun unloaded at home and quickly and easily top it off if they need to use it.
“Multiple states continue to trample on the rights of law abiding citizens,” explains the company website. “Use a Mean-engineered MA-Loader to best use your weapons as intended.”
Mean Arms is currently taking pre-orders for the MA-Loader priced at $39. The company expects to start shipping as early as April this year.

The MA-Loader and adapter are constructed from black polymer and won’t damage rifle receivers or magazines. Right now the loader is offered in .223 Winchester/5.56 NATO. It’s possible that down the line Mean Arms will produce loaders for other cartridges but it makes sense to start with the most common AR cartridges.
While it is a little more complicated than a standard stripper clip, the MA-Loader is also faster and works with all mill-spec AR-pattern rifles. Stripper clips or chargers have been used to load magazines since the late 19th century and it’s clear that in some cases they can still be relevant.
Just how fast is the MA-Loader? It can pump ten rounds into a magazine almost as fast as it can be emptied in full-auto fire. Also, it turns out that watching a guy shoot a machinegun using a loading system designed for California-compliant rifles turns out to be pretty hilarious.
Other popular “featureless” rifles like SKS carbines can feed from stripper clips and given the popularity of AR rifles it was simply a mater of time — and legislation blocking standard magazines.
This is a fantastic way to top off a partily filled magazine. Screw California this is a good idea regardless because you can quickly topoff during a lul in operations without a dump bag. This is like the ultimate stripper clip!
Hell yeah! Awesome idea! I live in an AR friendly state and I almost want one! When are they going to learn? Every time they try to make it harder for folks to own an AR we will find a work around. F*** Cali lawmakers!
Really Jack, you should do a little research before you before you show your ignorance.
Full autos are legal to own as long as it is a properly registered, fully transferable, and bought and sold by the correct procedure.
Certainly not an item you can walk in a store, purchase and walk out with the same day, but legal to own all the same. I know this for a fact, as I own both an M16 and a select fire M2 Carbine. (paid the $200 tax stamp for each, plus an extensive background check)
And for the sake of the video demonstration, do we really want to sit and watch someone empty a semi-auto, when we can be entertained with the rattle of full-auto fire!
Please help cure my ignorance.
I know law-abiding citizens can buy existing full-auto firearms in states which allow it. I did not know NEW full-auto firearms could be manufactured except for law enforcement or the military. Are NEW full-auto firearms being manufactured for civilian purchase?
Thank you,
Tom
Why are they showing automatic rifles?
Didn’t think those were legal anywhere.
That’s pointless for this great product.
“Why are they showing automatic rifles?” – because they’re awesome … duh
“Didn’t think those were legal anywhere.” – they’re legal everywhere except for a handful of communist states
“That’s pointless for this great product.” – not pointless but not a necessity either
Jack, you really don’t know….jack, about NFA firearms…
Hell YES ! ! screw California and their idiotic magazine restrictions. Better get these while they are hot. It won’t be long before they Californicate these innovative magazine loaders. I love the idea here , pure genius.
This just show again how stupid the CA’s assault weapon ban is.
a M1A or Mini 14 could do the same damage as an AR and others included in the ban.
I live in CA and I\’ve already bought property in NV. My house is going up for sale next month. I\’m embarrassed to tell people I live in CA. I\’m emigrating to the United States of America. What\’s the USA these days? 43 states?
I can sense the millions of Kalifornia snowflakes who will be triggered by this video and needs safe space to cry followed by years of counseling.
It’s bullshit that our fist line of defense (Coastal States) have blatantly had their Second Amendment RIGHTS stripped from them. If there’s an invasion by Sea, they will suffer great loses because of tyranny. Including NYC. Making it easier for whatever invader to easily get through them and onto the rest of the Nation. These Coastal States should have one hell of a Citizenry/Militia defense setup and the rest of the Nation should help them fight for the SAME EXACT Rights we enjoy and posess.
You might want to re-evaluate your decision to move to Nev. A resident for over 25 years and now I feel that Nev. is becoming Eastern-California with the influx of liberals moving into Las Vegas area. That block of voters has turned Nev. into a liberal cesspool which is just fine for our Rhino governor. I live in Northern Nev. which remains favorable and has many great ranges and shops to support our hobby but is overwhelmed by large numbers in Southern Nev.
If the bad guys to put troops ashore on either coast of the USA, the situation will be so serious that abiding by either states gun laws will no longer be an obstacle.
you know, i think you actually believe that the u.s. in vulnerable to a conventional invasion, and that armed civilians would be the first line of defense.
I live in California so naturally I’m not happy right now, however that’s my own fault for living here. With that said I will be buying at least 4 of these. Thanks for making my life a less of a living hell being in California. I live in Bakersfield at least. If you guys want to send me some prototypes to pass along to the local gun chains I would be more then happy to since I do the IT for 4+ Gun stores currently, and they would love to show these off guaranteed.
Their going to sell a lot of these in tyrannical States! This is the second (and different) product that beats the revoked bullet button and mag round limit with a faster solution. Hopefully the cost will come down.
God I’m glad I don’t live in CA. How long until CA finds a way to ban this device? Since the device is colored black many would reason that it’s an assault loader
And racially motivated.
