In honor of the 4th of July, Stag is giving away a gift card for $970. How you spend that $970 is up you. You could buy 64 really cool hats from Stag’s web store (one for you and each of your 63 closest friends), of if you meet the basic legal requirements for gun ownership, you could even get one really unique rifle. Stag has two offerings that are 100% American. It just doesn’t get any more patriotic than this unless you wear American flag boxers and Elvis is singing American Trilogy in the background while you shoot it.

A 20 Gauge for Home Defense? Mossberg Special Purpose Review
Published: July 3, 2014 { 18 comments }We all love to dicker about what kind of gun is right for home defense. The truth of the matter is that much of what is “right” is determined by individual circumstances. What kind of home are you trying to defend? What is in this house? What is outside of it? This is where we typically begin. But there’s more. I think one of the most important considerations has to be who will be relying on the firearm in question? And to that end, we’ll be looking at some alternatives to the traditional 12 gauge. Today, we’ve got a Mossberg 500 Special Purpose 20 gauge.
“When you have to shoot, shoot. Don’t talk.” Eli Wallach dead at 98
Published: June 25, 2014 { 9 comments }Eli Wallach died today at age 98. Some of you are saying, “Wallach? Who’s he?” Most of the rest of you are probably saying, “Wallach was still alive?” For those of us who followed Wallach’s career, today is a sad day. Wallach, best remembered for his bad-guy roles in the classic westerns The Good, the [...]
UN Moves to Confiscate Guns in USA (VIDEO)
Published: June 25, 2014 { 19 comments }It is becoming very clear that there is a plan in place to orchestrate a complete collapse of the United States. How do they plan to do it? Nobody knows, but it will most likely be a cataclysmic false flag event that makes 911 look like a paper cut. What we do know is that [...]
Diamondback DB-15 B Semi-Custom Upgrades-Entry Level Price (Gun Review)
Published: June 21, 2014 { 38 comments }Buying your first AR-15 used to be a lot easier, if only because of the lack of options. A good base model would get you only you needed, and then you could add on extras and swap out parts to make the rifle more functional. The various scarcities (and shifts in political power) meant many bought whatever they could get and at artificially inflated prices. We’re past that now, at least for a while. Deciding which AR to buy is much more complicated now, as there are so many makers making many variations of guns that essentially do the same thing. In this market, you can take your pick of rifles and options. You don’t have to start at the bottom. And some rifles, like the Diamondback DB-15 B, represent a real value. The DB-15 B is an upgraded gun at a base model price, and it is a buyer’s market.
The XStat™ from RevMedx — Tiny Sponges that Can Save Lives
Published: June 10, 2014 { 0 comments }Inspiration for important innovations can come from many things. In this case, it was expandable kitchen sponges sold at William Sonoma. RevMedx has taken that idea and turned it into the XStat™, a device that can save the lives of soldiers on the battlefield who have gun and shrapnel wounds. The device injects small compressed sponges into the wound, using a device like a syringe. The tiny sponges expand rapidly as they soak up blood, filling the wound cavity and instantly creating a barrier against further blood loss. The sponges are treated with an anti-hemorrhagic substance that contributes to the effectiveness of the device.
PWS’s New Modern Musket
Published: June 3, 2014 { 1 comment }Modern Musket Primary Weapon Systems has a new take on what’s become a bit of a meme, The Modern Musket. Their latest direct impingement ARs are branded under the confrontational monicker, and they are priced lower than the rest of the PWS line, which should make them more appealing to those looking for a high-end [...]

Prepping 101: The Sun Oven – Product Review
Published: June 1, 2014 { 11 comments }This story is best told as a story. I didn’t believe at first that this oven would really work. Anyone can game Youtube videos to make a product look good, and I just assumed that the All American Sun Oven was just another gimmick being sold to preppers. First of all, I live in South Florida. If a sun oven is going to work anywhere, it is going to work here. But I had never heard that such a thing was possible. I could see a huge dish, focusing the sun’s rays on an egg or something. But to get enough consistent heat to cook a chicken, or even a loaf of bread? Not so much. Not a reality. Boy was I wrong. I don’t know how the All American Sun Oven works up in snow country, but there is no reason to think that a sunny day anywhere can’t cook food just like a regular oven. You do have to move the oven around some, but at $399 for a complete survival kit, nobody who has stored freeze dried foods and pantry staples should be without one. No fuel, no problem. The All American Sun Oven works.
