J.W. Hornady founded the company in 1949 in Grand Island, Nebraska. What began in small shop has grown into one of the biggest names in ammunition and reloading equipment in the world. Hornady opened the new facility this month and has introduced two new cartridges.

A Vietnam veteran and Silver Star recipient has been sentenced to 87 months in prison by a federal judge for illegally purchasing a fully automatic M14 rifle at a Fort Worth gun show in the early 1980’s. Alfred Pick, 70, lives in Plano, Tx., and purchased the rifle because it was similar to the one he carried in combat.
