Published: May 5, 2019 { 11 comments }Small, powerful, convenient, and maybe even stylish, Bond Arms’ derringer handguns have been described using a wide variety of positive adjectives. But “lightweight” hasn’t been one of them. At something around 22 ounces, all-steel derringers are hefty little guns for their profile, especially when compared to half-polymer semi-autos.
That’s set to change in October, when Bond Arms plans to release an aluminum derringer that tips the scales at nearly half the weight of a standard model.
Marlin’s New Dark Series Ain’t Your Grandpappy’s Lever Gun – NRA 2019
Published: May 5, 2019 { 23 comments }Yeah, yeah. We get it. It’s a suppressor-ready blacked-out lever gun with a pic rail and paracord loop. Your grandpappy is rolling in his grave.
But as much as we wanted to complain about the tacticool bros ruining classic Americana, we got a chance to handle (or fondle, as the case may be) Marlin’s new Dark Model 336 and Model 1895 at this year’s NRA Annual Meetings and Exhibits, and we gotta admit—these guns are cool.

SIG’s New P210 Standard & Coyote Tan P365 – NRA 2019
Published: April 30, 2019 { 11 comments }In 1949, SIG made the P210, a fine gun for the Swiss army (the army called it the P49). It has been called the most accurate gun in the world, and one of the latest iterations, the P210 Target, is a good choice for target shooters. Now, they’ve released the P210 Standard, which pays homage back to the original model and is an updated version of the P210 Legend.
The Importance of A Good Stiff Belt
Published: April 30, 2019 { 5 comments }The thin and decorative belts in question were rarely much more than an inch wide, while the tunnel loops of the PDQ holster were cut to accommodate a one and three-quarter inch duty-type belt. My pistol pitched and rolled on my belt like a rowboat in a North Atlantic gale.

Dan Wesson’s New Kodiak 10mm 1911 – NRA 2019
Published: April 28, 2019 { 6 comments }With a 6″ bull barrel and chambered in 10mm, it’s a reasonable choice for those who choose to hunt with a handgun. The long barrel maximizes bullet acceleration and its weight helps mitigate the effects of recoil. It’s a handsome firearm in two color configurations, two-tone black and bronze, or tritone black and bronze with a grey slide (pictured here). And yes, it’s only available in 10mm.
