Smith & Wesson is suing the Hawaii Attorney General’s Office over high fees associated with three public record requests the company filed for in 2020.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis indicated this week that a special legislative session may tackle constitutional carry, among other priorities, in the not too distant future.  

Bottom line, a sheriff who swears an oath to the Constitution has no legitimate reason to oppose constitutional carry.

That said, it’s impossible for him to ignore the reality that 23 other states have adopted permitless carry, and, so far, not one has turned into the Wild West.  Not one. 

Republican Gov. Phil Scott of Vermont signed a gun control bill this week that extends the time between a delayed NICS background check and when the prospective buyer can take possession of the firearm.

The ATF issued a notice to FFLs stating that their offices have concluded that some forced-reset triggers, or FRTs, are machineguns.

South Dakota and Idaho made some important moves recently to protect the 2A rights of law-abiding Americans.  

Gov. Eric Holcomb this week signed legislation that makes Indiana the 24th state to recognize one’s untrammeled right to keep and bear arms.  

A group of 20 Republican U.S. senators sent a letter to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) demanding information on the “secret internal guidance documents” the agency has been using to go after solvent trap kits and force reset triggers.
