Rock Island Armory’s AL9.0 is a six-shot revolver. The surprising part is that it is chambered in 9mm. The steel frame gives weight to the gun and the low recoil of 9mm makes it pleasant to shoot.

S&W Model 638 Bodyguard
Published: February 29, 2020 { 16 comments }It has been 65 years since the Bodyguard was introduced. The fact that it is still in production is a credit to a design that has proven timeless. I have always had an affinity for the little J-frames and the 638 has found a home in my daily lifestyle.
Ruger’s Wrangler “A Smile Maker”
Published: October 17, 2019 { 37 comments }The Wrangler is NOT a cheap gun. It is, however, a well-engineered gun that makes use of materials and engineering that keeps the costs down so anyone (everyone?) can roll tin cans and slay steel (or pot a squirrel or two) with impunity!

Published: September 21, 2019 { 72 comments }The concealed carry market is crowded. Pocket guns are one of the fastest growing segments of the firearms industry, and there’s no sign of slowing down. The New Big Boy on the Block: Testing the Taurus Raging Hunter 44 Mag
Published: August 5, 2019 { 13 comments }Large guns have a special place in my heart, as they do for most people. The Taurus Raging Hunter in 44 mag is a handgun that put a huge smile on my face the moment I held it in my hand. The Raging Hunter is well constructed. There is extremely little play in any of the moving parts, the cylinder locks positively in place with a dual latch system and the porting on the end of the barrel is not only attractive but reduces recoil effectively; making for a great shooting experience.
