Bad news for Washington gun owners. The draconian ballot measure known as Initiative 1639 passed into law this week, garnering 60 percent of the votes.

“It is possible to believe in responsible gun ownership and to believe that there should be regulations on that,” Abrams said. “Antonin Scalia said that, and we have to believe as a nation, that when our communities are vulnerable, when you can’t go into a synagogue or a church or a school without fear for your life, there is something wrong with our system of gun ownership.”

“It’s all subliminal, but it is designed to create an impression about firearms, gun owners and their desire to add further restrictions on the Second Amendment,” he stated.

“Nobody needs one for home defense. Nobody needs one to hunt. Nobody needs one, period – other than to kill a lot of people fast, as we are now seeing time and again,” Morgan continued.

“The current 40% support for an assault rifles ban is below the historical average of 47%,” noted Gallup. “The latest data provide further evidence that public opinion typically shifts to higher support for tougher gun laws in the aftermath of a traumatic national event such as a mass shooting, but gradually reverts to prior levels as the memory of it fades.”

“There is no way to undo the life-shattering harm that Mr. Dunn caused, but we are pleased with the grand jury’s decision for such an unnecessary and egregious use of deadly force,” said the attorney.
