California Rep. Eric Swalwell (D) believes an “assault weapons” ban isn’t enough. He wants to confiscate all semi-automatic rifles, and he’s willing to use any means necessary to achieve his gun-free utopic vision.

Want a good “common sense” gun policy? How about legislation that bans actors and Hollywood types from pontificating on guns, gun laws, gun handling, and gun control? The latest gun-related bungle comes from Ashton Kutcher, the now 40-year-old star of That 70’s Show and subsequent mediocre romantic comedies. (So, an expert on gun laws.)

Democrats filed H.R. 7115 even before they regained control of the U.S. House of Representatives, and now that they hold a solid majority, they’re ready to make their gun control fantasies come true.

A South Carolina woman used her handgun last week to defend her home and her three sleeping children against a burglar who had broken into her front door. Security camera footage shows Cecil Charles Parnell, 43, along with an unidentified woman, attempting to break into the home owned by Ashley Jones. Jones told WSPA she heard banging on her front door and two people speaking on the porch.

To Mel Bernstein, owner of Dragon Arms in Colorado Springs, storing an AR-15 in a synagogue is as common sense as any other safety measure. And in the wake of a massacre in Pittsburg that left 11 Jews dead, he’s putting his money where his mouth is. “I don’t really like what’s going on in the country,” he told KOAA. “And I’m offering them a free AR-15 rifle with two magazines and 100 bullets.”

Dogs may be “man’s best friend,” but not because of their marksmanship. A 74-year-old man in New Mexico was shot by one of his dogs last week while he and his three canine hunting companions were out pursuing jackrabbits near Las Cruces, according to local media.
