I can hear “It’s the most wonderful time of year …” playing on repeat in the back of my mind as I scan through magazines and online stores while I start piecing together my Christmas wish list. As I’ve gotten older I’ve found that it gets harder and harder to not only buy gifts for the ones I know and love but also create a Christmas list for me to give to them. I mean I usually have to create a roadmap to the things that I like complete with links, pictures, and very specific instructions about color options and features, which pretty much sucks the fun out right out of it.

Accurize Your Ruger 10/22 — Victor Company Titan Stock
Updated: September 29, 2017The .22LR is about as American as apple pie and it’s safe to say that no other .22 rifle is as American as the Ruger 10/22. Since the 1960’s, the Ruger 10/22 has been responsible for the countless shot-up cans, the taking of small game, and general fun having then just about any other .22LR made. This is for good reason. Similar to the AR-15, the 10/22 is manufactured in a way that makes it easy to swap out components to go from plinker to tack driver in no time.
The Perfect Entry Level Optic: Burris XTR II 4-20x50mm
Updated: September 27, 2017When the cost of a precision rifle can reach into the thousands of dollars it tends to be a little less practical, and unnecessary, to spend as much on the scope as you spent on the rifle. Starting out though, when you’re on a budget, finding a suitable optic for precision rifle competition that won’t break the bank isn’t easy. However, Burris is making the search easier with their XTR II line of scopes that are tailor-made for the beginning shooter at a price that some will find very easy to swallow.
Intro to Precision Rifle Series — Mindset, Equipment & Skills
Updated: March 31, 2024Precision Rifle Shooting (PRS) has been gaining a lot of ground in recent and with that an increasing interest in precision rifle competitions. I started shooting precision rifle competitions about 12 years ago and back then, the competitive landscape was different. There weren’t as many matches around as I was getting into it and there certainly weren’t any standardized rules about what was and wasn’t allowed.
Long Range Contender? Savage Model 10 Ashbury Precision Chassis Rifle — Full Review
Updated: August 3, 2017It seems like Savage rifles garner a love hate relationship with much of the shooting population. Some people love them because they’re an affordable rifle with features and a level of performance that hits well above their price point. Savage rifles are known for shooting exceptionally well while possessing a great adjustable trigger and a barrel nut system that makes barrel swaps relatively easy.
Everyday Essentials: Carrying In Non-Permissive Environments
Updated: July 14, 2017There is a perception amongst some in our society that if there is no threat directly in front of them then there is no danger and therefore no reason to be prepared for what might happen. Everyday carry can mean different things to different people.
A Hybrid Hunting/Match Rifle? The Bergara 6.5 B-14 HMR – Full Review.
Updated: June 12, 2017Not that long ago if you had asked me to find a rifle with a street price under $1,000 that had a fully adjustable stock with a detachable magazine system, was suppressor capable, was compatible with some Remington 700 parts, and had a 1 MOA guarantee, I would’ve said no way. However, Bergara USA has delivered just such a rifle in the form of their B-14 Hunting/Match Rifle.
Mod Your Glock for Competition for Under $100
Updated: April 19, 2017So often when I see firearm upgrade videos though, the modifications are usually extensive and well beyond most budgets. We thought it’d be fun then to do a video that focused on easy modifications a person could do to their pistol with a more reasonable budget. So armed with $100 I started perusing the local gunshops and online to find the parts and pieces that I’d need to modify my bone stock Glock 34 Gen4 to ready it for competition.
Easy DIY Gun Refinishing? A Step-by-Step Review of DuraCoat Aerosol.
Updated: April 12, 2017Just as some people like to work on their own cars, I like to work on my own guns because the process can be fun and rewarding. One project that I like to do from time to time is to refinish firearms to give them a better appearance and long-lasting protection. For most of my refinishing projects, DuraCoat has been my go-to brand for a number of years for many reasons.
Bergara Premier LRP .308 Chassis Rifle: Custom Features, Production Value – Full Review
Updated: February 17, 2017In the United States, Bergara isn’t exactly a household name, but the fact of the matter is that this Spanish-based company is a large OEM provider of barrels to some of the best-known brands in the business. Bergara has started to offer a line of rifles that can be found under their Bergara Premier line, and for review we have their LRP rifle chambered in .308 Winchester in hand for testing.
