When a lot of you see the Performance Center TCR22, one of the first thoughts that may come to mind is “Oh great, another 10/22 clone!”. I was certainly not immune from thinking this when I saw this rifle for the first time at SHOT Show, but I’ve learned you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover.

One persons “ultimate” very well may not be another’s, but I think this build should spark more than a little interest. The greatest drawback to trying to do an ultimate build is that ultimate will probably cost more than many are willing to spend at one time on an AR, but that’s the beauty of an AR platform, all the upgrades can be done one at a time due to the modularity of AR parts.

KPV heavy machineguns fire a 14.5x114mm rounds at 600 rpm. To put that in perspective the .50-caliber cartridge fired by John Moses Browning’s M2 Heavy Barrel machinegun is 12.7x99mm. The KPV round carries roughly twice the muzzle energy of that fired by the American M2.

Bargain bin ARs are a dime a dozen, but if you’re looking for a more premium option at a great price, check out the new RRAGE Carbine from Rock River Arms. The RRAGE is the newest iteration of Rock River’s LAR-15 series, but it hits a slightly lower price point than its predecessors—without sacrificing quality or performance.

Since 2010, Florida based Diamondback Firearms has been producing their ultra-small DB380 and DB9 pocket pistols. Diamondback recently added the compact double-stack AM2 9mm to their line which should appeal to those shopping for something larger with additional ammunition capacity.

The KelTec CP33 was one of the most hyped product of SHOT Show 2019 and I couldn’t help but fall into the excitement. However, I was a bit skeptical about its reliability with the radical quad stack magazine design. That said, I want to kill any doubts that you may have because I found this pistol to be extremely reliable, run any ammunition and it was easy to load. This gun quickly became a favorite of mine to bring to the range, take out varmint shooting and just carry around in the pickup for impromptu target practice.

After looking the rifle over, I was very impressed with what I saw and felt. The rifle was hefty… and I mean really hefty. The bull barrel that this gun comes with adds a lot to it, but the advantage is that you can shoot all day and not see a change in accuracy. The stock felt good to me out of the box, but with the option to change the cheek riser and length of pull (LOP from here on out) I rearranged the stock so that it fit me perfectly.

The Gunwerks slogan is “1000 yards out of the box”, meaning a savvy shooter should be able to take a new rifle out of the case, chamber a round, dial for any distance out to 1000 yards, and ring steel. That’s an extraordinary claim, and one I was supremely interested in putting to the test.
