LWRCI – Patriot Brown, Just In Time For A New Lexington And Concord

LWRCI – Patriot Brown, Just In Time For A New Lexington And Concord

The show stealer this week was the LWRCI PDW, but it wasn’t the only outstanding offering from LWRCI. Until we abolish the unconstitutional NFA, a full sized rifle is a much easier reach for most of us. And LWRCI happens to have that in spades. Fair warning. The MSRP on the LWRC IC-A5 is definitely [...]

SIG MCX Virtus Long-Term Endurance Test Part 2

SIG MCX Virtus Long-Term Endurance Test Part 2

Months ago, we started the SIG MCX Virtus test, to see how it would hold up under 2000 rounds suppressed. The test consisted of no cleaning or lubrication. This has also been in a variety of weather conditions if you remember me cooling the suppressor off in the snow back in December. It turns out, [...]

Ruger SR556 Takedown

Ruger SR556 Takedown

As part of our coverage for AR week, we are leading the charge with a Ruger model sure to make a Californian crap in Xe’s pants. Ruger has been making AR’s for a while now, at a price that makes them attractive. The Ruger SR556 Takedown is by far the most expensive in the catalog, [...]

LWRC PDW - Dynamite Comes In Small Packages

LWRC PDW – Dynamite Comes In Small Packages

I have been on record as disliking short barreled rifles ( SBR’s), not because I think you shouldn’t be allowed to own one, but because they are ineffective. The velocity loss from chopping a barrel below 16 inches in 5.56 caliber is catastrophic in terms of combat effectiveness, with shorter being exponentially worse. I felt [...]

M&P-10 Sport - Bargain Bin Price That Is Big On Performance.

M&P-10 Sport – Bargain Bin Price That Is Big On Performance.

I must confess that sometimes I am a bit of a gun snob, especially as it relates to rifles. I don’t have any full custom second mortgage guns, but I generally look well above the price point of the M&P 10 that came in for review this week. As a retired military sniper and [...]

Sabatti Rover Tactical – A .308 Powerhouse w/ Unique Multi-Radial Rifling — Full Review

Sabatti Rover Tactical – A .308 Powerhouse w/ Unique Multi-Radial Rifling — Full Review

Sabatti is a new brand to me, though it is far from new to firearms. They have been in the gun business for 400 years, an unbroken line of smiths from father to son, with no interruptions. That is a pretty big deal considering most of us, me included, couldn’t tell you how exactly our ancestors arrived on the continent.

MilSurp: British Infantry Weapons of World War II: The Tools Tommies Used to Beat Back the Bosche

MilSurp: British Infantry Weapons of World War II: The Tools Tommies Used to Beat Back the Bosche

On the night of June 5th, 1944, a force of 181 men commanded by Major John Howard lifted off from RAF Tarant Rushton aboard six Horsa gliders. Their force consisted of a reinforced company from the Oxford and Bucks Light Infantry along with twenty sappers drawn from the Royal Engineers. Their objective was to seize the bridge over the Caen Canal and subsequently secure the eastern flank of the Allied landings at Sword beach. Theirs was arguably the most critical piece in the entire D-Day invasion.

Remington 870 DM Magpul & 700 Magpul v. Nevada Coyotes — Full Review

Remington 870 DM Magpul & 700 Magpul v. Nevada Coyotes — Full Review

There’s more open country and public land within driving distance of Ely, Nevada, than the naked eye can take in. From rolling hills and a sea of endless cedars to the vast horizons of sage flats, it’s perfect country for coyotes. It was also perfect for putting two of Remington’s newest firearms to the ultimate predator hunting test. On a two-day hunt, we’d be using two modern takes on Remington classics—the 870 DM Magpul & the Model 700 Magpul.

Accurate, Modular, Lightweight Bolt-Action: The Q Fix — Full Review

Accurate, Modular, Lightweight Bolt-Action: The Q Fix — Full Review

I first saw the Q LLC “Fix” rifle at the 2017 SHOT show. It was a unique design that immediately grabbed my attention. A bolt action rifle that challenged the carbon fiber stocked mountain rifles in weight but also had characteristics of the chassis style precision guns that were taking the market by storm. Q [...]
