Accurate and very comfortable in the hand, the Defiant STOCK 1 clearly has many uses beyond competition, including home defense, hunting, law enforcement use, open carry, and just plinking. It strikes me as a little large for concealed carry, but there are people who no doubt would find this full-sized handgun just right for that purpose, too.

Published: March 23, 2019 { 9 comments }Walther PPQ Q5 Match – Why This Polymer Wonder is Still Relevant
Published: March 16, 2019 { 9 comments }It was almost exactly five years ago that I wrote my first gun review for GunsAmerica (gently wipes away a tear…). It was the Walther PPQ M2 5” pistol, which was just new to the market at that time. When the work was finished and the article and video were published, I asked Walther if I could send them a check instead of returning the gun. That pistol has been my go-to match gun ever since, and it has many thousands of rounds through it.
The Assassination of Benazir Bhutto: The Unsolved Murder of the Muslim World’s First Female Prime Minister
Published: March 15, 2019 { 7 comments }Benazir Bhutto was both the 11th and 13th Prime Minister of Pakistan. Her professional life was enigmatic, dangerous, chaotic, and inspirational. Accused of corruption and officially ousted from her post twice, she yet remained the first democratically elected female leader of a Muslim-majority nation. Imprisoned, exiled, persecuted, and ultimately murdered, Benazir Bhutto came to represent both the best and the worst of her part of the world.

A Covert Gun for the 21st Century: The Cell Phone Pistol from Ideal Conceal (Full Review + Video)
Published: February 28, 2019 { 61 comments }From pen guns to umbrella guns to this insane briefcase gun from H&K, manufacturers have been finding creative ways to conceal firearms for decades. The Cell Phone Pistol (IC380) from Ideal Conceal is the latest iteration in that legacy.
While it wouldn’t be an ideal primary carry gun, the IC380 could perform well in a backup role or in those situations where a traditional EDC handgun would be impractical or inadvisable. It’s also a unique piece to add to your collection, something sure to garner attention at the range or among your gun-collecting friends.
A Seven Shooter: Ruger .327 Single-Seven Review
Published: February 23, 2019 { 20 comments }The Ruger Single-Six Revolver has been around since 1953. Since then, there have been a multitude of different models of this handy small-framed single action. It was on a Ruger Single-Six 22 that I first learned how to shoot a handgun and I suspect that is the case for a lot of people. A couple of years ago Ruger came out with a special model of this wheel gun as an exclusive for one of their distributors. This version is called the Single-Seven and it is chambered in .327 Federal Magnum.

Review: The Taurus G2c. Accurate and Functional—And Packing .40 S&W Power–for Under $300
Published: February 17, 2019 { 26 comments }“The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated.” Okay, so the quote is actually (and incorrectly) attributed to Mark Twain, author of Huck Finn and many other novels. But it could as easily apply to the .40 Smith and Wesson as a self-defense caliber since reports of the caliber’s death were breathlessly hyped a couple years ago when the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced it was switching its duty sidearms from the .40 S&W to 9mm.
