The Savage 1911 is built on the traditional ‘government model’ platform, but with many upgrades and improvements.

One of the few complaints a man can make about a 1911 is capacity, and the 2011 has fixed that.

M1811 Module design borrows characteristics from the legendary 1911 grip and seamlessly blends them to the grip of the P320. To my hand it is definitely an improvement to the curvy factory grip.

I’ve never seen a double stack 1911 sometimes called a 2011 with these features,  fit,  and finish for anywhere close to this price point. 

A nightstand gun is premised on the idea you don’t have children. I do now, so I have to err a bit more on the side of caution. But as a single dude living in some perhaps sketchy areas, I was a huge advocate of the nightstand blaster. And for that particular role, the 1911 packs some clear advantages.

The “Bad Guy” received one splitting headache – the kind of headache created by five, hard-thumping rounds of .45 AUTO to the front of the noggin.

The TRS (Tactical Ready Series) Commander 1911 from Nighthawk Custom carries a hefty price tag of $4,399.00. Which has many readers asking themselves, “How the hell can any pistol be worth $4.3K?!”

850 for the blued and $900 for the stainless, these should be solid options in the mid-tier 9mm 1911 market.

Earlier this year, Devil Dog Arms (DDA) announced that its 1911’s were available in optics-ready versions, and I immediately asked for their 5 Tactical model in 10MM, specifically cut for the Trijicon SRO optic. I’d used and reviewed DDA’s 1911’s in the past and they were first-rate—accurate, reliable, and solid. But I had yet to use one of their 10MM models.
