Bushnell XRS II – New Model
Updated: March 25, 2018In one of the most exciting stories of the year, at least for us long range nerds, Bushnell has launched the new XRS II. Bushnell has been one of my favorite optics brands, mostly because of bang for the buck. They have a tremendous reputation for durability, at a price that won’t break the [...]
Clay Learns to Reload: Ep. 1 Taking a Class
Updated: March 22, 2018I’m going to start reloading. As a noob, I decided to the best place to start was to take an entry-level class. Learning from an expert in the flesh can save you hours of heartache and head-scratching.
P365 – SIG’s New Wonder Weapon
Updated: March 17, 2018I never thought I would say this, but the P365 isn’t just a good carry gun. It is a good do anything gun. With the capacity on board and a potential of 12+1 with extended mags, there is no reason it can’t. This gun is literally good enough to run 6 plate racks or compete in
Holster Shopping with Clay: BLACKHAWK’s Leather 3 Slot Pancake ($99!)
Updated: March 15, 2018Finding a holster for a rail-equipped 1911 is like finding Waldo with pepper spray in your eyes. It ain’t easy. But I found the solution. Enter BLACKHAWK’s 3 Slot Pancake holster.
LWRCI – Patriot Brown, Just In Time For A New Lexington And Concord
Updated: March 10, 2018The show stealer this week was the LWRCI PDW, but it wasn’t the only outstanding offering from LWRCI. Until we abolish the unconstitutional NFA, a full sized rifle is a much easier reach for most of us. And LWRCI happens to have that in spades. Fair warning. The MSRP on the LWRC IC-A5 is definitely [...]
SIG MCX Virtus Long-Term Endurance Test Part 2
Updated: March 9, 2018Months ago, we started the SIG MCX Virtus test, to see how it would hold up under 2000 rounds suppressed. The test consisted of no cleaning or lubrication. This has also been in a variety of weather conditions if you remember me cooling the suppressor off in the snow back in December. It turns out, [...]
Ruger SR556 Takedown
Updated: March 9, 2018As part of our coverage for AR week, we are leading the charge with a Ruger model sure to make a Californian crap in Xe’s pants. Ruger has been making AR’s for a while now, at a price that makes them attractive. The Ruger SR556 Takedown is by far the most expensive in the catalog, [...]
Build a Complete AR-15 Upper in Under 45 Minutes
Updated: March 8, 2018As we stare down the barrel (no pun intended) of another attempted gun grab, I felt like it is time we take a look at exactly how to keep your AR running indefinitely.
LWRC PDW – Dynamite Comes In Small Packages
Updated: March 7, 2018I have been on record as disliking short barreled rifles ( SBR’s), not because I think you shouldn’t be allowed to own one, but because they are ineffective. The velocity loss from chopping a barrel below 16 inches in 5.56 caliber is catastrophic in terms of combat effectiveness, with shorter being exponentially worse. I felt [...]
