This week is a bit of an odd duck, as we rather intentionally bought a gun we intend to look nothing like factory in just a few weeks. But since we do have it, we thought why not take a look at it as it sits. We mean of course the Ruger 10/22 Charger, the red headed step child of rimfires.

DeltaPoint Micro: Leupold’s New Red Dot Sight for the “Dot Curious”
Published: March 20, 2022 { 6 comments }DeltaPoint Micro is a fully enclosed, low-profile red dot sight designed specifically for concealed carry and personal defense. It provides all of the advantages of a miniature red dot sight without the high profile of other sights. No red dot on the market is more compact, its low height to bore replicates the same sight plane that iron-sight shooters are accustomed to, allowing for intuitive target acquisition, and it delivers the legendarily rugged performance that Leupold consumers expect. Your iron sight presentation will put the red dot right in your field of view.
Caring for Your Ammo Stockpile
Published: March 13, 2022 { 11 comments }What are the natural enemies of ammunition? Well, politicians, California in general, and as 2020 taught us, metal prices are all at the top of the list. But a not distant fourth is water and its little brother moisture in general.

The Laser Saddle By Crimson Trace – Light It Up
Published: March 6, 2022 { 6 comments }I’m an unashamed shotgun nerd, and I love all types of shotguns. This includes guns that are technically not shotguns but use shotgun patterns, shotgun ammunition, and the like. You know, those pesky little firearms like the TAC-14 and Shockwave firearms. These guns tend to be tough to aim and tough to shoot, at least compared to a stocked shotgun. Crimson Trace has your back in making that a fair bit easier via the Crimson Trace Laser Saddle.
Tailhook MOD 1 By Gear Head Works
Published: March 6, 2022 { 4 comments }With all the rage for AR pistols these days, there have been a handful of models of pistol braces that have risen through the ranks to make their claim to fame. Looking for something unique and lightweight, I stumbled upon the Gear Head Works Tailhook MOD 1. Weighing in at 4.5 oz and being less than an inch thick, this ATF-approved brace definitely fit the bill. Thin, lightweight, foldable, and comfortable enough to be shouldered? Count me in!
Ameriglo Haven Red Dot
Published: March 6, 2022 { 0 comments }Red dots on pistols continues to be one of the strongest trends in the industry, which leads to some incredible developments. Much like electronics in other consumer spaces, it doesn’t take long for what was once only an option for the rich to make its way down to us mortals. It wasn’t that long ago that an HD TV cost a fortune, with very few brand options. Now you would be hard-pressed to find a television that wasn’t HD, including the sub $200 models at Best Buy or Walmart. As goes TV’s, now so goes slide mounted red dots.
DeWALT Battery Powered Chainsaw – Review
Published: February 28, 2022 { 7 comments }Yes. Chainsaw. Today we are going to take a look at what I feel is an underrated bit of survival kit, and perhaps the greatest labor saving device in the inventory. Now obviously, this falls way down the line from food, water, medical, and safety. (Safety means guns, stuff to feed them, and preferably friends with them.) But after those needs are met, I absolutely feel this is something you should be considering.
Lightweight V2 SnipePod from Kramer Designs is the Perfect Western Hunting Bipod
Published: February 28, 2022 { 2 comments }If you’re a hunter, the SnipePod can be a crucial piece of gear. It gives you a stable yet flexible base to take sitting shots over brush and grass, and it significantly less than any other sitting bipod on the market (and less than many prone bipods as well). For $145, that’s not a bad deal.
Hogster Stimulus: Best Value in Thermal Optics Today?
Published: February 28, 2022 { 7 comments }Thermal optics have long been the domain of the, uh, not poor. While some people have a job that can justify the upfront cost, it has not been a realistic option for the masses. Granted, prices have gone down. But not down to the point of accessibility to the masses. Until now.
