What first drew me to the Spartan was its unique blade shape, like a tiny copy of a Greek kopis sword. It looked cool enough that I was willing to buy one to try.

The idea behind Clay’s Budget Blades is to review products that are a good value, but not necessarily cheap. No gas station knives will be presented here, nor anything from QVC.

My Christmas wish list this year isn’t anything too crazy and are things that I’d actually use.

It is once again that time of year, Christmas season. While most of your list may be easy to find at the local mall, odds are slim that is going to work for your resident gun guy or gal. Fear not, dear readers, we have that covered.

Meet the Berlin Strike Folder from Attleboro Knives. A gentleman’s folder aptly suited for a black tie affair, one in which you may need to free a damsel from restraints. (I’m thinking 007, not “50 Shades of Grey.” Sicko.)

When I saw the Zero Tolerance 0460 at SHOT Show last year I knew I had to get my paws on it. It checked all the boxes. It was nothing like I currently owned. It was incredibly cool looking. Well built. And priced just right.

In testing, I found the Tecpatl to be a fantastic weapon. In fact, it is my new everyday fixed blade (since I live in a free state, I can carry a fixed blade).

I can’t really go out and kill anything this time of year with a knife where I live, so I opted to take it with me on a few inner-coastal waterfowl hunts. 

This is not really a review so much as it is a brag sesh (session). What I mean is don’t expect objectivity because you’ll get none. I’m a Chris Reeve fanboy, through and through.
