Don’t stand beside someone shooting an AR. It is loud. Even with ear protection. And if you’re the one shooting, watch where you put that support hand. Don’t reach too far forward. Or, better yet, pick up a Kineti-Tech muzzle brake and sound redirecting sleeve. This combo solves both problems. And it is an easy DIY.

Kineti-Tech Sound Redirecting Muzzle Brake: Gear Review
Published: September 10, 2014 { 15 comments }Truglo Tritium Fiber Optic Combo: TG-H3 Review
Published: September 7, 2014 { 4 comments }The TG-H3 looks a bit out of place on this beastly shotgun. If I were more vain, it wouldn’t be my first choice for a lever action anything. But I wasn’t concerned about the look. The Truglo TG-H3 is a bad-ass sight. It is long, and wide. It installs on a 12 gauge barrel fairly easily, and it combines Tritium and fiber optic technologies for one radiant sight.
Alien Gear CLoak Tuck 2.0 Holsters (Review)
Published: August 24, 2014 { 8 comments }Alien Gear Holsters has an innovative design concept that sets them apart from almost every other holster maker. It begins with a genuine commitment to modularity that comes in at an almost unbelievable price point. This is possible thanks to an incredibly simple structure. And if the price doesn’t convince you try this–they will let you test drive a holster for 30 days. If that weren’t enough, they guarantee all parts. And, my favorite, if you ever decide to change the gun you’re carrying, Alien Gear will trade out the Kydex shell.
RamRodz–Gun Cleaning Made Even Easier
Published: August 15, 2014 { 4 comments }Most conventional cleaning set-ups require multiple small parts and pieces. They get filthy, and require constant manipulation. You don’t want to touch the crap you flush out of a gun barrel, and wearing gloves can be a hassle. Now you have something that is easy to use, requires no assembly, and is easy to dispose of. And best of all, a bag of RamRodz is selling for less than $9.
Burris Fast Fire III
Published: August 14, 2014 { 2 comments }The Burris FastFire line of red dot sights is known for quality at a low price point. The same is true for the latest addition to the line—the FastFire III. It is practical and perfectly functional and comes in around $240. The 8 MOA dot version is ideal for a shotgun, and I we’ve beaten the hell out of this one, and I’m here to say that the FastFire can handle the abuse.

Leathercreek Holsters–Handcrafted Old-School Gun Rigs
Published: August 7, 2014 { 6 comments }Big companies that make thousands of holsters can afford perfect stamps that crank out flawless basket-weave. The hand stamp process is much more cumbersome and requires a maker to stamp each individual section of the weave. I’ve yet to see a flawless piece of hand-stamped leather, and these human touches are often the sign that it isn’t mass produced. This week we’re looking at the craftsmanship of Leather Creek Holsters, and we like their personal touch.
OWB or IWB With the Blade Tech Eclipse Straight Drop Ambi Holster
Published: July 30, 2014 { 4 comments }The Eclipse Straight Drop Ambi Holster, from Blade Tech, is about as good as it gets. This holster has OWB loops for those times when comfort and/or cover are easy. With a few simple steps, the holster can be changed into an IWB holster. In this way, one holster will satisfy both needs.
Polymer/Leather Holsters from Bianchi (Gear Review)
Published: July 25, 2014 { 4 comments }Bianchi has a new holster that is pushing the limits of traditional leather. The 126 Assent is a light brown holster made from smooth grained leather, but it has a twist. The 126 is a leather shell that’s lined with thermo-molded plastic that feels like really thin Kydex. The result is a traditional look with more modern functionality.
