Video review of the Springfield Armory Redline with Carbon barrel in 308

I love the idea of downsizing so will it stop at the 20-gauge or move to a 28 or even a 410?  My shot selection will of course need to be enhanced, but I tend to shoot over the decoys anyway.  I see this smaller gauge as nothing short of fun.

After some practice, no elk will be safe. I can’t wait to report on the rifle’s in-the-field performance soon. 

This rifle is built specifically for hunters, and as its name implies, the gun is chambered for the potent 450 Bushmaster cartridge, turning an AR-15 into a thumper of a hunting rifle for most North American game when used within the round’s range limitations.

Enter the American-made VF-ORYX 22WMR by Volquartsen. This rifle is an absolute beast. The moment I picked it up, I could sense its precision. The modern design immediately caught my attention, but it was the performance that truly impressed me.

The ammunition I used is made by a family-owned business in the Pacific Northwest called G9 Defense, and if not for the distinctive capabilities of this stuff, I wouldn’t consider trying to kill a 600lb animal with a 10mm. But this ammo doesn’t behave the way other pistol ammo does.

Taylor & Company Firearms is based in, of all places, Winchester Virginia. Unlike many other companies, Taylor does not actually manufacture any firearms. Instead, they partner with existing companies, such as Chiappa and Uberti, to market and sell exclusive models.

The rounds of the HammerDown line are what would today be called short-range rounds.

One feature I really appreciate about this rifle is the reduced movement it takes to operate this gun.
