Shoot Better!

Having been a first responder, I tell folks I can count on one hand the violent crimes I’ve stopped in progress. I was, for lack of a better word, a historian.

I’ll bet most of us tend to give only passing thought to reticle selection, but there’s a reason that there are somewhere over 96.2 billion reticle designs floating around out there. They’re designed for specific purposes.

You have to account for two variables in long range shooting – distance and lateral movement from the wind and other factors.

It took three days for one Florida man to realize that he’d been shot–by himself. He noticed the gunshot wound after putting on a lighter-colored shirt that showed stains from the bullet holes in his arm.

The public perception of guns as dangerous and frightening has kept the media and most corporate sponsors from recognizing the achievements of Team USA shooters.

When I was given an opportunity to write this series about kids and guns, I was so excited that my brain froze a little. Where do I start? How do I share the absolute LOVE for guns that pervades my life and my children’s lives? Do I show pictures of the guns that sit on my couch?
