This week, Caracal USA has announced that the upgraded Model F replacement pistols are now available.
“Model F replacement pistols have cleared U.S. Customs,” said Jeff Spalding, Caracal spokesman in a video posted to Youtube. “The distribution of these pistols will be dedicated to customers affected by the 2013 Model F and C recall program.”
One will recall that the original Model F and Model C pistols were recalled in 2013 following concerns that the pistols discharged while being dropped on hard surfaces.
But now the Model F has been upgraded, states Caracal, with a redesigned trigger safety, trigger bar, firing pin unit and a machined one-piece Multi-Function Unit (MFU).
“These enhancements increase both the safety and durability of the Model F pistol, while maintaining the same overall ergonomics and exterior aesthetics,” said the firearms manufacturer.

In other news, the company says that effective Nov. 1, Caracal USA will move all recall and customer service options to the offices in Boise, Idaho.
I don’t know why, but I’ve always liked the look of the Caracals. Maybe I will actually be able to see one in person soon!
