Buzzfeed Millennials Train to Shoot Like John Wick

I love watching newbies discover guns. Chances are if they’re open-minded, intelligent and fun-loving they’ll walk away from the experience with a real appreciation and enthusiasm for exercising their 2A rights.

Case in point, the video above from Buzzfeed features two of its contributors learning the basics of 3 Gun in an effort to shoot like John Wick, the fictional character played by (IMO, one of the most underrated action stars of our time) Keanu Reeves.

Both of the contributors seemed to walk away from the training with indelible smiles on their faces.

“I think I did better than I thought I would at this point, so I’m feeling pumped right now,” said the girl.

“This experience was intimidating yet exciting,” she added. “It really does get your blood pumping, it’s kind of out of body.”

The guy meanwhile offered this assessment, “Easily one of the coolest things I have ever gotten to do.”

This video really illustrates how easy it is for us to win hearts and minds.  A day at the range, some cool guns, some awesome instructors, and a great course is pretty much all you need to convert the uninitiated.

Oh, for those that don’t know, Buzzfeed is a quasi-news, quasi-entertainment destination with all sorts of click-bait-type content.  It’s a millennial magnet.  So, hopefully, more youngsters see this and take the plunge either by reaching out to a friend that owns guns or by visiting their local range.

I do football at a High school in Ohio; used to do baseball too. Been doing it since 2002. People might be surprised at the # of kids that are interested in guns. I subbed too. Sometimes I’d be inundated by the number that wanted to talk to me about them. One social studies class, they were to pick an amendment and then write about it. None had picked the 2nd yet, but after I read it, explained it and read quotes from the Founding fathers, a number decided to write about that. And I was always asked questions in homerooms AND on the sidelines at football practices! Dont count these kids out. They have more common sense than you think! I always tell them, “You think for yourself. You’re smart enough to do it and you need anybody telling you what you should think, because THIS IS AMERICA!” They like that compliment AND understand it completely.

Watch closely both transitioned from the first station to the second station with their finger on the trigger. BAD NO NO. just a thought.

Except in some states (like my own Washington State), sharing a firearm at the range is considered an “illegal transfer.”

Dave why does sharing a gun on a range being illegal in Washington state not surprise me. Its also a state were 15 years ago liberals fought to not pass a law making bestiality illegal and stated a recall on the governor for taxing their Latte’s.

While I have no doubt as to the truth of this article (I’ve seen many newby shooters…), BuzzFeed has a widespread reputation for LIES. It is perhaps THE FAKE NEWS SOURCE on the Internet today.

    “Shoot guns like John Wick.”

While that strikes me as funny, the reality is, higher budget movies, and a few TV shows are hiring real trainers for the actors… hence, “like John Wick,” just means generally good tactical gun handling.

Now, I’ll go watch the video and see if I am being redundant 😉

Total side note: I LOVE Sherial’s hair!!! I have locs as well (not as long as hers) and she’s gorgeous! Now back to business…this was a terrific video! I liked watching how serious you all were with regard to the skill set you were developing and all the safety checks and measures incorporated. I’m a beginning shooter – not this much experience – but you’ve definitely de-mystified the experience and made me feel that with enough training, I might be able to accomplish something similar. I’ve got a new goal!

Did you watch the video, Tommy? They don’t seem like ignorant morons to me. Just a couple of younger people that watched a movie and thought it would be fun to learn something about firearms. Your attitude toward a couple people wanting to learn about firearms probably does more harm for pro 2A efforts than an anti gun Buzzfeed article

  • Tommy Barrios March 31, 2017, 12:44 pm

IF taking any of these IGNORANT MORONS out for a day of shooting, changes their minds even a little bit about the 2nd Amendment, then I’ll help pay for the ammo!
God only knows we need something like this to wake up the anti-gun whiners, most of whom, have listened to the gun hate and cowardice from Moron Media outlets like BuzzFeed and others!

Tommy apparently made a statement because he thought people would like it.
Tommy doesn’t realize that by supporting these two, and others like them, we begin to make progress against liberal misinformation.
Tommy apparently just wants some “likes”.
Call me apparently didn’t watch the video he just thought he would use a few buzzwords to make people think it was cool.
Tommy apparently doesn’t realize that he’s actually hurting our argument with this particular group of people.
Tommy is apparently 12 years old and lives in his mother’s basement

      Tommy you’re the moron

    • VJR April 8, 2017, 9:12 am

      Tommy ( please stop )
It is better to not say nothing
And have people think your a moron,
Than to speak and remove all
      Doubt
