Burris is giving buyers their choice of FastFire 3 optic. The FastFire 3 is offered with a smaller 3-MOA dot and a larger 8-MOA dot. The small dot is better for precise shot placement while the large dot is designed for fast shooting where accuracy is less important than speed.
These dual-optic systems are becoming very popular with the practical-tactical shooting crowd as they make it simple and easy to transition from magnified to unmaginified sight pictures. By tilting the rifle or shifting your cheek weld you can go from 3x or 5x to 1x without taking a hand off the gun to make any adjustments.
Both the Burris AR-332 and AR-536 have short rail sections at 3-, 9- and 12-o’clock positions for mounting red dot sights and other small accessories directly to the scope without the need for an adapter.

The 3x AR-332 has a suggested retail price of $419 and the 5x has a $479 MSRP. Both can be found in stores usually in the $300 to $400 range. The 3x optic weighs in at just under a pound and the 5x is a couple ounces heavier but the compact size and short length of the scopes still balance well.
Both scopes use the Burris Ballistic CQ reticle, a circle-dot with holdover subtensions in mils that can be used as holdovers for rifles chambered for 5.56 NATO out to 600 yards. They also work well with other cartridges with similar ballistics including 7.62 NATO and 5.45x39mm.
Because the reticles are etched glass they can be used powered or unpowered. They feature red and green illumination with 5 brightness levels and the scopes and are powered by a standard CR2032 power cell.

Who builds that gun?
Can’t speak for any of the above optics by Burris but I did recently buy a Burris Timberline 4.5x14x32 Ballistic Plex scope. It was made in the Philippines, as are most Nikons, not China. In short it’s an awesome scope and being a life long Leupold fan that’s quite a complement.
Are they made in China ?????
I believe all of Burris’ scopes are Chinese made. However, that shouldn’t dissuade you from buying these products because they are pretty well made. Given that, I own the 536 and the only complaint I have about these scopes is that the central dot is just to big. It needs to be at least 1moa or smaller if possible. This is my only complaint with it. My secondary complaint is that windage/elevation adjustments. It requires unscrewing a cap, inserting a flathead tool and turning. Not ideal, but secondary once zero’ed in.
The free FastFire is a nice deal actually.
