The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence called for Douglas County Sheriff John Hanlin to step down as the lead investigator for the mass shooting at Umpqua Community College because of Hanlin’s pro-Second Amendment views.
“Citizens of Oregon voted for the expansion of Brady background checks in a law signed by Governor Brown this past May,” Brady Campaign President Dan Gross said in a weekend statement.
“In pledging not to enforce the new law, John Hanlin has clearly demonstrated that his political ideology trumps his responsibility to protect his community,” the statement continued. “The victims of last week’s shooting and the entire community deserve a thorough investigation that will get to the bottom of this heinous crime – an investigation that must be grounded in facts and evidence, not myth and bias.”
Gross also pointed to a video of Hanlin questioning the veracity of the shooting that took place at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. Apparently, Hanlin was suggesting that it may have been a government plot to push through tougher gun control laws.
Hanlin flat out denied the insinuation that he believes Sandy Hook was a government conspiracy, and has refused to answer questions on his personal views on the Second Amendment.
“My focus right now is on getting this investigation completed and taking care of the victims and the victims’ families,” Hanlin said on Friday. “Now is not an appropriate time to have those conversations.”
Have you noticed that Hillary is trying to avoid bad publicity pertaining to her claim that she will do everything she can do to make gun control and changes to the Second Amendment and changes to the Supreme Court her top priority and thus make Americans defenseless in a legal sense. Obviously she knows that publicity about taking guns from American citizens is bad publicity before the election. Apparently, the “Brady Bunch” is doing the talking for her so she can try to avoid the bad publicity and the lies and corruption before the election. Don’t forget about the lies about the Libyan ambassador and three assistants that were killed due to her making no effort to help them. (Remember – “JUST FORGET ABOUT THAT”) Don’t forget about the lies about the classified State Department emails and her private server and there are many more lies. THIS IS A CRITICAL ELECTION !!!! The people who support her consist of Obama, Billy and Chelsea, Pelosi, Feinstein, Boxer, Harry Reid, Bloomberg, Soros who is the owner of Progressive insurance, Katy Couric, Dan Gross who is the leader of the “Brady Bunch”, Schumer, Healey, Gov. Brown of California, Gov. Brown of Oregon, practically all of the network news media including Rupert Murdoch of CNN, and many other people of this ilk. If Hillary is somehow elected, the Democratic idiots listed above would play a large part, politically, in changing the United States. Under the United States Constitution a Sheriff, elected by the people, is the only LEGAL enforcer of the law. All other forms of Police either local or National may assume authority from some government entity but lack the authority that only the voting citizenry have the right to grant. The Sheriff of Douglas County Oregon is a hero. Who the hell cares what the Brady bunch or any other swarm of political parasites have to say? And, yes I call them parasites because they only gain existance by attaching their foul suckers onto the bodies of those killed or maimed in such a tragedy.
The only laws that these DemoCraps care about is theirs, what I don’t understand is why if they love our Country so much then why are they trying so hard to change it, and our Constitution to their way?? If a law doesn’t fit what they want they do everything they can to change it to fit their way of thinking, and they don’t care what we think..

I’m afraid that the former mayor of Nu Yeawerk and his minions don’t represent the citizens of Douglas County who duly ELECTED their sheriff to be the Chief Law Enforcement Officer in Douglas County.
If the people of Douglas County want Sheriff Hanlin to leave office, they are free to organize and force a recall election. Frankly though, Most recall elections fail, as this one probably would. That is, if they are even able to force one.
We need more sheriffs like this, more, more, more. We do not need the Brady folk, nor anyone who wishes to deprive anyone of their rights under the constitution.

Actually, we didn’t get to vote for that expanded background check law. It was rammed through illegally as an “emergency measure” when it wasn’t. Sheriffs all across Oregon have refused to enforce it too, including the Sheriff of where our state capitol is located.
