On Friday, July 12, 2024, a deputy with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) shot and killed a 19-year-old man inside a 7-Eleven in Orlando.
The incident unfolded after the OCSO gang unit, conducting surveillance on a house linked to multiple crimes, observed the man, identified as Tristan Mayberry, leaving the residence with a gun.
The gang unit requested patrol deputies to make contact with Mayberry, who entered the 7-Eleven at 4011 W. Oak Ridge Rd. Inside the store, deputies approached Mayberry.
“Bossman! You know, only one of you guys can be riding on a scooter, right?” the deputy asks.
“No, sir. I didn’t know that,” he replies, turning away from the deputy and walking down the aisle.
“Come here, man! Come here, dude!” the deputy shouts, trying to get the young man to turn around and provide ID.

“Hey! Stop! Stop!” the deputy commands, but Mayberry ignores the directive. He then reaches for the gun in his waistband.
In response, one of the deputies shoots Mayberry. He falls to the ground, screaming.
As the other deputy struggles to disarm him, the deputy who fired initially discharges additional rounds.
Despite deputies providing first aid, Tristan Mayberry was pronounced dead at the scene.
Neither deputy sustained injuries during the incident. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the shooting.

Weather he had a legal CC permit or not ,pulling a gun out of your waist band ,pocket ,or holster is not a good idea when confronted by a policeman
%A lot of pain ,suffering would not have been done ,If only the person ,gang member or not ,stopped ,have the gun taken away arrested an maybe learned to be a good citizen but he chose the gangster life .RIP jackass

✊🥹If they got the right man….then….😆🤣😄🤣😂 Pay back time!!!!
Why confront the guy in the store? WTF?
Store was almost empty…..outside bullets end up who knows where. Its procedure if possible. Plus the cops knew who the dude was.
Because police departments all over the country lowered standards so that lots of unqualified people can become cops too many of these scared looser cops resort to the gun before anything else. The will kill you if you have a screwdriver in you hand of even if you have a pot of water in your hands. They might even shoot you if you tell them you have a gun in your car and have a permit to carry it. All of these examples have happened. Worse case was the guy crawling down a hotel hallway in his underwear and when he tried to pull up his drawers the cop shot him six time with his AR-15. There has to be another way. Some dirtbags deserve to die, but not everyone is a dirtbag.
YOU MEAN .!!! , DEMON-RATZ LOWERED ALL STANDARDS FOR ALL OCUPATIONS..!! EVERYTHING IS AT RISK BECAUSE OF THEIR POLICYS..!! ITS CALLED ‘ communisium’..!! They don’t care about the general population , ONLY THE CONTROL OVER THEM..!!!.. QUIT BEING A PAWN..!!
Democ ᘛ⁐̤ᕐᐷᘛ⁐̤ᕐᐷ fug up all they touch.
I see these type of videos to many times too count and all I can say for sure is what you see on video and what you see happening in front of you are two different experiences altogether and so are your reactions.
Those who read this and conclude there was some injustice done are the scary, unable to think for themselves voters who got us into the current economic and liberal crisis.
The legal premise to confront this suspect was established by a scooter violation. What other legal violations were established prior to the gang team request that patrol make contact? Mayberry could have been a legal carry since the LEO had yet to see establish his identity, what violation was committed by the suspect by being at that specific home?
In the other articles provided in links by GA there is no mention of a the gang team observing the suspect with a firearm, there should be an investigation to determine whether that is true or not but if the patrol unit thought he was armed they sure seemed very casual. So the communications will be key, both electronic and any other alleged communications. Also, Mayberry was only suspected of being a gang member, no mention of whether he had a record or not.
You and Olson seem to be arguing emotion at the expense of reason. Clarify whether there was a specific legal violation besides the scoother violation? Did you approve of two LEO standing opposite each other in a busy store with a target in between them firing at least 8 shots especally if they had in fact been warned that the suspect had just been observed with a firearm? A scooter can be observed in from of the store, like I stated before, it seems to be that the confrontation would have been better outside the store.
Are U some kind of STUPID CRYING LIBERAL , PROTECTING ‘fjb’ and his border polices.. gangs are her and the GANG SQUADS KNOW WHO THEY ARE. !! . DESTROY THEM..!! AND TAKE THE DEMON-RATZ DOWN WITH THEM..!!
Of course if Tunamister was buying a BIG GULP in that store as the shots rang out and that LEO who did NOT have any idea of what was beyond the intended impact area of those 8 or more shots and few of those high volocity projectiles ripped through your large torso causing your guts and fecal matter to swirl together and spill out onto the dirty store floor and your spine was severed in several points and then somehow the EMT scooped you up and managed to get to the E-room so the surgeons at the cost well beyond your value save your precious life then the story you are would be differant. No?
If they knew he had a gun on him, they should tackle him. They were within ten feet of the kids. Plenty of time to tackle him before he reached for the gun. Instead, they executed him in the store for a scooter violation. Think about that. 19 year old kid executed in a store regarding a scooter violation.
At 19 they’re not kids. You play stupid games you get shot. I’m sick and tired of 19 year olds being called kids. As an LEO you don’t tackle an armed suspect. Had they said something about the gun this young man would have drawn it quicker. It’s called getting them out of their loop.
That is one of the most irresponsible comments I have ever read on this site. Do you really equate “tackle” with “disarm”? Maybe, if one is lucky, 50% of the time they tackle an armed criminal, they will get the gun before the criminal shoots them. Tackle him? I still cannot believe you wrote that.
And, they did not shoot him for a “scooter violation”. They attempted to stop him because they were informed that he was carrying a gun, and likely was a felon. So, they attempted to stop him. He failed to comply with a lawful order from a police officer. After that, we don’t yet know the chronology of events.
What we do know is that you do not care what the facts are. IYV, cops are bad, end of story. Your comment, “Think about it” applies directly to you.
Thank you Jim C!
Someone else with some real world experience. He doesn’t understand how many ways that can go bad. When the person you are trying to tackle is not wearing 30 extra pounds of gear, and is already moving away from you!
Please read the whole article before making such comments. But because you only caught “scooter” out of the whole video / article high speed. Let me breakdown for you Barney style. He was observed leaving a high crime house under surveillance by a specialty team who observed him leaving residence with a Firearm. This usually means he’s a felon or a subject known to this place of interest, a not nice person convicted of other crimes where he shouldn’t be in possession of said firearm (s) and is not carrying it to do good, or rescue people with it. This was NOT about the scooter. The scooter would be the probable cause to initiate a conversation with the suspect to try to hopefully de-escalate or take him into custody without what had taken place. This. Is a bad guy. Remember that. He would still be alive if he would have complied. But he is an adult that made his choice…
Play stupid games. You win stupid prizes.
Yeeeehaaaa. Take them OUT..!! ANY WAY THEY CAN..!!!
Tunamister your posts are garbage and you are most likely a lefty trying to discredit gun owners.
YAY!
Don’t judge the officers unless you have been in a situation like that yourself,
Is that the rule in the Bryan Malinowski or the Ashli Babbit cases? Count me out on that standard.
Those shooting were by federal agencies with little or no oversight. Serving a search warrant at night is ridiculous and invites those problem. Ashley – the officer involved should have stood trial.

Yes, I agree the feds are out of control hyopcrites. Lt. Michael Byrd was among the J6 Capitol Police who was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal, sadly no earth bound trial likely.
Another dirtbag bites the dust. Excellent
IF YOU DONT WANT TO END UP DEAD JUST DO WHAT THEY SAY ITS THA EASY,STOP MEANS STOP NOT WALK AWAY AND REACH FOR SOMETHING IN YOUR PANTS,
that boy did nothing for them to murder him…
Seems to me, that boy reaching for his gun is something.
By “nothing” you mean he pulled a gun on the police? What were the cops supposed to do, give him a stern talking to?
“au contraire, mon frere” Reaching for a gun gave the police all the right they needed to shoot his dumbass, my liberal anti-gun, anti-police friend. Thank you officers, for cleaning the gene pool and taking out the trash.
He was an armed gang member not a 10 year old boy going in for an Orange Crush. Are you too blind to know the difference?
He was someone’s son. He didn’t look like some serious criminal or gang member.
the rabbit on his hoodie is a gang symbol for a 6000+ member called playboys. it’s a good bet that his ending put a end to his body count
slanted news reporting……..how about some unbiased facts next time. FAFO!
So this starts out as a scooter violation, why NOT converge at the scooter instead of the candy ailse in a crowded store? Was Mayberry looking to shoot it out with LE or dump the gun? Now we will never know and to some these questions are irrelevant but some CC and LE people know and will admit to themselves there are times they have briefly crossed over to the wrong side of the legal lines. With two officers waiting near the scooter, Mayberry might dump the gun in the store, he might flee out the back of the store, he might try to draw on the officers who should be better prepared to respond with a lower risk of hitting unintended people.
Scumbag gang member draws on police, and Florida taxpayers are saved big bucks. What’s not to love.
No it didn’t “start out as a scooter violation “. It started out as surveillance of a house that was linked to multiple crimes. This clown came out of that house and got on a scooter along with another clown and went to the 7-11. Then the clown didn’t follow the instructions that the officers gave him and pulled a gun.
Officers were well within their rights as their life was in fact threatened.
Hey ER I responded to your response, you find it on the thread.
BTW, I suggest anyone who believes that the shooting of Mayberry is NOT problematic for the Sheriffs Department, they should watch the video again and pay close attention to when one LEO appears to take hold of the firearm that Mayberry was carrying and when the other LEO stops firing.
