Yes it would Carl, 1:7 is perfect for 77g bullets
I have a DD M4V4 with a 1:7 twist. Would that racial support a 77g bullet?
Every barrel is different, but a 1:7 should shoot 77-grain bullets well. The 1:8 in my Colt loves 77-grain Federal Gold Medal Match (so I’m anxious to try these new tipped bullets) and I’ve read some guys who are pleased with the results that 75- and 77-grain bullets produce out of their 1:9 barrels. You have to test them out of your rifle.

Yes a 1:7 rifling twist ratio supports 77 g 5.56mm or ,223 bullets. I used a M16A2 in Afghanistan and 77 gr due to the further distances needed to fire in the mountains and they worked fine.
