I don’t get why Remington doesn’t just tap their shotguns for an optic’s mount. Like all of their shotguns. Mossberg does it, so why can’t Remington? Luckily, solutions exist, and one that has always interested me was the Burris SpeadBead. It seems like a great solution for a complicated problem. Burris designed the Spea Bead to be an optic mounting solution that doesn’t require a tapped receiver.

As much as I like tinkering with my guns, there are very few times where an upgrade performs better than I ever expected. A little company called MCarbo produces some of the most innovative additions and add ons for a variety of firearms. My particular interest in their products boils down to the SUB2000.

The Swampfox Trihawk is perfect for a variety of tasks. It can be a tactical optic, a hunting optic, or something that helps you show off to your in-laws. Swampfox built it to last with an IPX7 rating and the ability to resist 800Gs of recoil.

Everyone and their mom proclaims the superiority of appendix holsters and appendix carry. However, I’ve had a real issue finding appendix carry rigs that I’ve found comfortable and viable for concealed carry. Who doesn’t love a good red dot? Especially these days when the technology has lowered drastically in price while growing in quality. Holosun, in particular, has taken the world by storm by not only producing high-quality optics at low prices but innovating. In the last few years, they’ve really taken off and designed optics that go beyond being competent and have created competition in the optics world. The latest Holosun is the AEMS. AEMS stands for Advanced Enclosed Micro Sight, and it promises to be the latest and greatest compact optic.

I picked this gun up for an absolute steal. Sure the finish is rough, and one of the grips is slightly broken, but I was incredibly excited to pick it up and hunt down a few boxes of ammo.

The HS512C is an outstanding optic for close-quarters shooting. It provides an enclosed optic option for those wanting something but is very effective and affordable. The HS512C is well suited for home defense, and I’d even take it on as a duty optic. The little fella is a fighter and provides an enclosed optic option that might be a little easier to find than the AEMS for the next few months.
