The Smith Mountain Lake shooting that left two reporters dead has spurred many Franklin County residents to start their concealed carry permit process.

Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard has a “pretty obvious” solution for addressing gun-related violence, but “nobody wants to go there.”

In response to the fatal Virginia shooting of two reporters, U.S. Sen. Tim Kaine has introduced the “Responsible Transfer of Firearms Act” to crack down on the selling of guns to criminals.

It was the first episode of the new The Late Show hosted by Stephen Colbert, but the somewhere down the line someone decided to cut a question on one of the most controversial topics in the nation: gun control.

In the ongoing lawsuit between the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms and Everytown for Gun Safety, the agency has declined to hand over information requested through the Freedom of Information Act.

“We passed the toughest gun control law in the nation, called the SAFE Act, and I am proud of it,” Cuomo said. “Anyone who doesn’t believe we need to do something about gun control is delusional.”

“And I defend it all with the Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States,” he added. “I cower to no one.”

According to a study published in Preventative Medicine, less than one percent of crime victims use a firearm to defend themselves, and moreover, those that do are no more likely to escape unscathed.
